In-text citation
When including someone else’s idea in an assignment, refer to the idea in the body
of your report this way (example only):
Critics of evidence-based practice argue in favour of intuition which focuses on
individual experience (Rimmerman, 2013).
the author, whose idea you are referring to,
appears in brackets at the end of the sentence with
the date

A reference list is placed at the end of your report and lists the books, webpages and
journals you have used to gather ideas for your assignment. See the next slide for an
example of a reference list.
