2. Subject and Predicate
Subject: Names the person, place , thing, or idea that the
sentence is about
Predicate: includes the verb and gives information about
the subject (like what the subject does)
Name the subject and the predicate of each sentence:
My heart’s a stereo. It beats for you so listen close.
You’re insecure, don’t know what for. You’re turning heads when you
walk through the door.
This one is for the boys in the booming system top down AC with the
cooling system.

3. Natural order or inverted order?
Natural order: Subject first
Inverted order: Verb before subject

it’s: it is (It’s nice to meet you)
its: belonging to “it” (Its leg hurts)
their: belonging to them(Their house is here)
there: place (I see it over there)
they’re: they are (They’re pessimistic)
accept: verb(I accept your apology)
except: everything but (Everyone is here except Bob)
affect: verb (Criticism doesn’t affect me)
effect: noun (The effect of aspirin lasts 6 hours)
