Different mode of airport transfer in the philippines
1. Different Mode of Airport Transfer in the Philippines
Taxi’s and shuttle buses are two of the most popular mode of airport transfer or Zum Flughafen
Transfer. In other countries like the Philippines, other than the two, there are some unique
transportation means of going to the airport. It is unique as it can only be found in this country
or in few places around the world. The world is indeed fascinating as there still some quirkiness
left despite technological advancement and modernization.
Some travellers are privilege enough to ride in their own cars or hire Airport Taxi Wien but in
the Philippines, due to wide gap between the rich and the poor, majority of local travellers find it
expensive to rent a taxi or a car. In fact there places where passengers have to share a taxi ride
and divide the fare according to the number of passengers which is maximum of four. Yes, it is
not safe. You can just imagine the risk these passengers exposed their selves.
However, those who have barely enough money, riding a “jeepney” were their most viable
option. By this time, through travel network channels, millions of people around the world are
familiar what this vehicle looked like. Some of the tourists who travelled to this country have
even ridden one and they enjoyed it. All airports in the Philippines are accessible with these
means of transportation. Some places allow this vehicle to park few kilometres away from the
airport and passengers will ride an assigned and authorized similar vehicle to shuttle them to the
airport gate. In some places, particularly in third rate cities, jeepneys are allowed to unload
passengers in front of the entrance gate of the airport.
Now let us talk about third rate cities in the Philippines. Other than jeepneys, there is another
mode for airport transfer which is called a tricycle. It has a motorcycle as the main engine and
attached with a passenger cab which can accommodate to maximum 6 passengers. In some
situation, individual passenger may hire the whole thing and pay only one fourth of the usual rate
when riding a taxi or riding a car. It is very cheap but very uncomfortable to ride. The
motorcycle is noisy. The passenger side is very narrow and uncomfortable to sit and ride.
There is another more unique way to go to the airport. It is what locals called as “habal-habal.”
The best English translation for this is motorcycle for hire. One of the advantages of this ride is
that it faster compared with tricycles as only one or two passengers can be accommodated. Thus,
there is no longer waiting time for other passengers.
