Introduction
This Technical Submittal details the proposed LevitonPassive Network Solution designed to be
deployed in PROTOTYPE 3 (Site 6), “Soldiers Institute in King Fahad Security College” subject to
the initial riser diagram(s) with:
Reference number:
8488-SO-06-03-039-FD-T-300-00.dwg;
8488-SO-06-03-039-FD-T-310-00.dwg;

8488-SO-06-03-039-FD-T-512-00.dwg;
Titled: “King Fahad Security College in Riyadh Educational Building”
Consultant: “Not Specified”
File Description: The riser diagram(s) reflect the cabinet layout for the Low Current Rooms that
are distributed over (Ground, 1st, 2nd floors) in addition to a dedicated drawing that shows the
general layout of the designated cabinets for the IPTV on each floor. This allows the generation
of a quantitative analysis table that reflects the number of Nods and associated Switches per
cabinet based on which the quantity of passive components can be calculated.

Single Line Diagram
The Following Diagram provides a high detail equivalent Riser diagram (subject to the project
riser drawing: “8488-SO-06-03-039-FD-T-3X0-00.dwg”) with special emphases on showing the
exact active data content of each cabinet., and where the MTR consists of two dedicated 42U
cabinets to hold the core-switch and additional components.

Quantitative Analysis
The table below uses quantitative analysisbased on the drawing(s) “Structured cabling network
– Master Plan”projecting the exact number and type of Nods connected to each Low Current
room in addition to projecting the number of switches and patch panels required to service
them.

Fiber Connections
In this Table we determine the number of fiber linkscoming for each cabinet to allow connection
to the core switch. This in turn allows us to determine the capacity required for the fiber patch
panel and the number of fiber patch cords on both ends.

Component Specifications
Based on the previous section we will now start discussing our solution components and
present a general overview on their performance details.
(1) Copper part – User Side: This represents the passive connectivity at the user side
(Nod), where each nod consists of (a) the faceplate “1 or 2 ports”, the connector module
fitted onto the faceplate, and the LSZH CAT6. These components translate to the
following Leviton components:
a. Cat-6 LSZH 4p/23 305m Box, Gray
b. W/PLT 2-PT ID 86MM WHT
c. W/PLT 1-PT ID 86MM WHT
d. JACK CAT 6 8P8C WHITE
e. P-CORD CAT 6+ 10' GREY
Where item (b) and Item (c) represent the 2 port and 1 port faceplates respectively, and
will have item (d) the RJ-45 module installed onto it, item (a) the LSZH cable will be
terminated on the (d) at the nod side and will be pulled to the cabinet side where it will
be terminated on the patch panel back side. Item (e) is then used to patch the front
patch panel port to the correct active switch.
Refer to Appendix 5: Data Sheet - UTP6Z-MSB
Refer to Appendix 6: Data Sheet - 61110-Rx6
Refer to Appendix 7: Data Sheet - 62460-xxx
(2) Cabinet side (FTR & MTR): This represents the Floor standing Cabinet which will hold
the Passive Fiber Patch panel, Copper Patch Panels, Patch Cords and Active Components.
These cabinets come in two types the 42U 800x800 for the MTR room, and the 42U
800x600 for the FTR rooms.
The Floor Cabinets will be fitted with the following items:
a. PPANEL 24-PORT 1U CAT6 + BAR, LOADED
b. DUCT HORIZ 1RU F/O
c. P-CORD CAT 6+ 3' GREY
d. OPT-X 1000i ENCL 1U UP TO 72F (3-PLT) EMPTY:
PLATE 12F OM3 LC AQ ZIRC 6PK DPLX
PIGTAIL LC 50U OM3 3 MTR
TRAY SPL PLAST+CVR 12F WITH SLEEVES
PLATE BLANK PLASTIC, OPT-X
e. Fiber Cord OM3 LC-LC DPLX, 2 mtr
f. DUCT HORIZ 1RU F/O
Where the assembly of the items represented by (d) composes the Fiber optic patch
panel that will be used to connect the FTR to the MTR using the fiber cable specified in
item (e), followed by using item (c) for patching the terminated ports to the equivalent
switches and core switch ports.
