2. Why? Blogs are fun! They can be used as reflection pieces. You can read other people’s blogs – check the music page on the ultranet. Useful to demonstrate level of understanding of what we covered in class. Makes up part of your grade – so remember to do it!
4. Example of Blog post In class today, we talked about note rhythm. Starting with the Music Pyramid, we explored how each note value is derived and how everything correlates to each other. We then had a brief look at time signatures. How interesting! I never knew that the bottom number of the time signature refers back to the music pyramid. For the last part of the class, we covered rhythm, combining what we had learnt from time signatures and the music pyramid. We tapped and clapped our way through 3 different sets of rhythm and I found that it was very hard to keep counting while tapping at the same time. I found rhythm work to be most interesting. Hopefully we do more of it next week!
5. Why? Why do we have to learn this? Why does something work? Why did I find this interesting / boring? What other WHY questions can you think of?
6. How? How did we learn this? How am I going to apply this to what I already know? How does this relate to me? How is this relevant to what I already know? What other HOW questions can you think of?
7. Keep notes during class The music pyramid makes things so much clearer! Creating our own music notation was a breeze. I was able to explore how notations are formed while making my own notation. Jane made a really awesome comment on the music pyramid. She said: “ (quote)”. Interesting point!
8. Ultranet – Look at it! List of everybody’s blogs up on the ultranet. Handouts, powerpoints, resources, all up on the ultranet!
9. Comments I will comment on each and every one of your blogs. Go into your blogs to approve the comments! You are encouraged to comment on each other’s blogs as well.
