2. Diphthongs-Triphthongs
A diphthong is a sound made by gliding from one vowel to another. The process of
moving from one vowel sound to another is called gliding, and thus another name for
diphthong is gliding vowel.
A triphthong is a glide from one vowel to another and to a third, all produced rapidly
and without interruption.
