6. C.A.R.R. (City and Rural Rides)
City And Rural Rides is a rural public transit
service. Transportation is available to the
general public in the service area.
Anyone may schedule a ride to any location in
the service area and to limited cities.
CARR can be used for various reasons
including shopping, work, beauty shop visits,
visiting family or friends, and doctor visits.
CARR requires that trips be scheduled one
business day in advance by 3:30 p.m.
8. City Link Para-transit Services*
Travel within the city limits of Abilene
Demand-Response Door-to-Door Service
M-F, 6:15am to 6:15pm. Saturday, 6:30am
to 6:15pm.

9. City Link Evening Service
Para-transit (Demand-Response)
Travel in the City Limits of Abilene
Monday-Saturday 6:15pm-11:30pm

Rural transportation from Jones County to
travel within Transportation Works service

11. Volunteer Driver Program
Volunteer Drivers will use their own vehicles
to assist consumers with transportation
Rides will be pre-planned and based on
availability of drivers
Volunteer Drivers can be anyone who
qualifies for the program
Transportation Specialist will work to match
drivers/riders to best suit their needs

Drivers will apply/Screening Process
Submit a safety checklist prior to each ride
Drivers will track mileage and receive a
stipend for each mile of travel
As long as the grant funding allows, riders
get this service free of charge, pending
approval.

Action and will follow approval process for
the program

One hour notice to cancel the ride
“No Show” guidelines
Trips will be to documented destination only
14. Looking for Work?
This program will assist you with up to three
fixed route trips or three volunteer driver
trips in any given month.
Trips must be pre-planned and the time
allotted for the trip will be coordinated with
your driver if you are using a volunteer driver.
Additional trips should be planned with our
Transportation Specialist.
15. Need help learning how to use
public transportation?
Training can be provided in a group setting
or one-on-one setting.
