1. Love... you can taste
I started cooking at an early age in the kitchen with my mother, aunts & grandmother. They
would tell me stories about our families’ history in Louisiana as we prepared old family recipes
and created new ones. This gave me a deep appreciation and pride for my heritage. I found a
wonderful satisfaction cooking these dishes for family and friends. Good food, good friends and
Great family… these were inseparable.
My parents have always run homes for mentally disabled adults, where I worked most of my life.
My husband of 20 years and I have also taken on the challenge of serving persons with special
needs. We ran a home in Tustin for mentally challenged adult men with a history of drug & alcohol
abuse for 15 years. I continue to work full time alongside my parents at ARC Mid Cities, which is a
workshop for the developmentally disabled adults.
During this time, I started serving on my churches culinary ministry cooking for different church
functions like Christmas parties and other special events.
My husband, three children and I moved to Murrieta 12 years ago where I started catering for
friends and eventually turned it into a business. I contracted with the city of Murrieta, Murrieta
School District, local businesses, friends & persons. I opened a small restaurant in November of
2009 and moved to our current location in May of this year.
I believe God knew my heart’s desire and He has truly blessed me with a place where I can share
my passion for people and food; He has Blessed me with wonderful people in my life to help me.
My son Devan also known as “Cocky D” has taken on my passion for cooking & serving others. He
has begun his own trend by” Knocking Out” &” Doubling Down” creative creations of his own.
