12. Conference/Event I Want To Attend SUSTAINABLE FASHION: The Parsons / MIT Project Ever wonder about the environmental and social impacts of the fashion industry? As designers, the choices we make about materials and labor can have very good - or very bad consequences. This workshop brings together experts from Parsons and MIT to introduce the basics of environmental and social sustainability. Participants will be introduced to Sourcemap, a tool for calculating the carbon footprint and mapping the supply chain of product so that you can find out where each material comes from and what its impact can be. We'll consider several case studies of green and ethical products, and explore the range of possibilities available to designers today. Workshop includes presentations and hands-on training.
