The Past Continuous is a verb tense
describes actions that were being
made at a time of the year to which it
refers and then continued. The Past
Continuous is constructed with the
auxiliary verb "to be" in its past and the
main verb in the infinitive with ING
termination
3. The Past Continuous structure is:
Subject + be + past tense verb ending- ing (gerund)
The "past continuous" is used to:
Actions that started in the past and want to stress that had a
certain duration
I was eating an apple, when I fell to the ground
Me estaba comiendo una manzana cuando caí al suelo
In this prayer is described in the past continuous action of
eating the apple had a certain duration but the fall was
instant.

The Present Continuous or Present
Progressive tense is used to express
actions happening at the same time you
are talking. This tense is constructed using
as auxiliary mode Simple Present tense of
the verb TO BE as main verb in the
infinitive with ING termination
