(Fairness) This presentation introduces the Youth Justice Program, which is a successful model at transitioning young people from detention into stable housing in South Australia. The program provides interventions to prevent homelessness or minimise the time a young person experiences homelessness. The program uses a collaborative approach to develop individualised case plans where intensive support is offered to stabilise and settle young people into the community and develop their social skills which in turn supports their employment prospects and engagement with mainstream society. This presentation was given by Steve Vicino, Housing SA and Kirsten Sandstrom, Service to Youth Council.
