1. ASSIGNMENT 2 (ESSAY WRITING)
(WEIGHTAGE 20%)
Write a narrative essay about a memory of someone OR something that had an influence on you when you
were younger.
Your essay should not be less than 350 words.
You can by writing the names of some people OR things that had an influence on you when you were
younger. Then think about memories associated with those people OR things. Write notes about the
memories and specific details such as people, times, and places connected to the memories.
An example of the narrative essay is given below:
People Memories Details
My older brother The time I fell off my bike when we
were kids
I was 10. We were in Jalan Elektron
U16/95. I cut my head. We went to
see Dr Zainal.
Things Memories Details
Sekolah Rendah Denai Alam My first day at school. I was lost on my first day. Mrs. Rama
found me in the school canteen. She
took me back to class.
Choose one of the people or things from the Table above. Write your essay and make an outline for a four-
to-five paragraph essay.
• Submit the essay to the prepared assignment platform provided in MyGuru (Platform 2). You
MUST submit the essay in the platform only. Therefore, take note of the DEADLINE.
• Make sure that the file is not password protected.
• Do not post (postal services) your essay.
• Your tutors will evaluate the essay based on the mark scheme provided. (Appendix 2)
NOTE:
 You should have the integrity to write the essay yourself (Do note that tutors have the
software to detect plagiarisms).
 No mark will be given to an essay that contains 30% or more of plagiarized work.
 Follow the format given below:
o Font size: 12 point
o Font type: Times New Roman
o Line spacing: 1.5
 Remember that the deadline is on Week 10 (03 MAY 2015).
