• Sigmund Freud was born in current day Pribor, Czech republic
• Born on May 6, 1856
• He was born to Jewish parents
• Moved to England in 1859
4. CAREER
• Began working at the Vienna General Hospital
• Researching cerebral anatomy
• After leaving the hospital he started researching nervous disorders
• Started the early version of phsychoanalysis
5. SMOKING
• He had become a chain smoker
• Starting off with cigarettes, he later moved onto cigars
• He would smoke 24 – 25 cigars everyday
6. STRUGGLE WITH CANCER
• His smoking habit lead to his cancer
• He had a cancer in his jaw
• It was inoperable
• He died September 23, 1939
