Role of youth and young political leaders of india
1. Role of Youth and Young political leaders of India.
India is the second largest populated country in the whole world, of
which the youth forms the majority, but yet it is ruled and governed by
the older sect of the population. Around half of the country’s population
is under the 25 years of age ratio, however, the average age of the
ministers governing the Indian democracy is close to 66 years of age.
Maximum candidates in the Indian cabinet of ministers are over aged. It
surely brings a lot of experience in the governance and in the cabinet,
whereas it is one of the major reasons of the disconnect between the
people for whom the policies are being framed and the people who
frame these policies.
It is a high time to bring about change in this old system, the ruling
parties in the country need to give a serious thought in bringing Young
political leaders of India to the fore. This will drop down the average
age of the cabinet ministers to a level where it is practically accepted by
the citizens of the country.
It is surely time for the older slot of politicians to give away their throne
to the new younger generation. The problem with Indian politicians is
that they never ever want to give up, and try their best to always be in
power. There needs to be an age limit in the political system just as the
civil servants in the country have an age limit beyond which they cannot
continue their service.
While India was fighting for independence, Gandhiji asked the youth to
participate and fight actively for the freedom moment, at that time young
Indian leaders like Jawaharlal Nehru came up and assisted in leading the
movement. Nowadays, we only seem to have a handful of young
2. politicians like Varun Gandhi, Rahul Gandi and Sachin Pilot who belong
to a powerful political dynasty and politicians like Prashant Thakur from
the state of Maharashtra who are young and dynamic, and has done a lot
of work for the society as a whole.
We do not need more politicians in the country, Instead, we need to
showcase Young political leaders of India, who can lead the country from
the front. Although, the main issue that holds the stand here is that the
youth of the country is not very interested in getting themselves in the
politics for obvious reasons whatsoever.
The younger generation of our country is fully aware of the issues faced
by our country, and if given a chance they would change the face of
countries, the political situation for the very best., provided the fact that
the youth participated in the largest numbers in the movements against
3. reservation and other cases like the Jessica Lal murder and the Delhi
gang rape case.
The younger generation between 30-40 who are very well educated and
has enough experience and young ideologies needs to be encouraged to
join politics to bring about a positive change in the country.
