Digital storytelling is “the modern expression of the ancient art of storytelling..Digital storytelling

incorporating digital text, imagery , video and audio into the presentation of a computer –
mediated and multimedia story.
In 21st

instruction to create a multimedia story related to art education. In addition, digital storytelling is
an easy way to learn and understand it is because the new generation command with the

process from a storyboard until production which is students develop their idea through
sketches to help students easily visualize content in terms of character, setting and plot. They

Premiere. The application of this digital storytelling, is a relevant and powerful way to promote
visual culture art education for the technology digital generation.

the campus would look like without public art in order to illustrate the importance of its
existence. Third, Jerita were produced with Windows Movie Maker 2.1summarized the benefits

Another, the class of 7 rated favorably each of the student digital stories during peer evaluation.
They appreciated having an opportunity to learn about digital storytelling and apply to their own
art teaching.
From this article, the author used a quantitative data method which is the author collect the data
from their experience and observation as an art teacher and interview from other student.
The purpose of this research is to identify the importance of digital storytelling in art education

Based on the author, it clearly show that digital storytelling in art education is a very important to

digital storytelling.
3. 3. Evaluation
The significant of the study in this article is related with nowadays life which is using a
technology and multimedia.
The author make this article with ethical concerns because had mention and makes a
citation all the data that found.
Data collection from the author is relevant because author using a quantitative data and
easy to find out by author experience, observation and interview from other students.
On this article, I agree with Heise & Grandenett,1996 quotes “Advances in Computer
technology dramatically transform modern society into an arena where digital devices
are indispensable. Collectively, technologies create a new genre of contemporary art
forms (Roland,1994) that challenge art educators in search of meaningful practices.
Teachers must know how to use computer technology to prepare students to function in
this rapidly- changing world.” It is because a new generation in 21st
century using
technology and art education also changing with technology. The educators and
teachers must thinking forward with new creative idea by using a various of digital
multimedia. They must learned about all creative multimedia to make students more
creative in art education.
I agree with this article because it related with our daily live in multimedia technology in
art education. Digital storytelling became a very famous because it is the straight-
forward and easy to learn.

In this article, the implementation of digital storytelling in technology art education is very
important to create students more creative. The author also explained the process of

Based on global era, the transformation of technology art education is more related in
this article. In this article, art educators and teachers is the important role to make
student create and love with multimedia art. They must change and thinking forward
what the need of technology in art education. I agree of the statement by Dunn (1996),
“Art teachers who are technologically literate are uniquely positioned to play a major role
in their schools attempts to restructure in the face of an ever-changing global market
place.”
Nowadays, we can see a lot of art multimedia such as 3D animation. In Malaysia, we
have a less of leaning in digital storytelling in classroom. From the article, the educators
or art teachers can used this method for art education leaning in classroom.
