Arabic (plural) of Adab : meanings – “good breeding, decency,
nurture, good manners, refinement, cultured, decorum, courteous,
etiquette, propriety, social grace, to educate, discipline, the
humanities, etc.” sense of proportion and knowledge of their rightful
place in the order of things, the absence of which indicates injustice

Insha’Allah -This is a follow-up course, after completion
of 18 weeks course on the kitab “Ta’lim al-Muta’allim
Tariqit Ta’allum ” of Sheikh Tajuddin Nu’man Zarnuji

RECAP PREVIOUS LESSON

By retracing our life, we start with understanding
our basic nature as a human being - having
inherent powers and their potentialities to be
developed.

In our relationship regarding our Education – we
are to encounter, i.e. assisted by our educators -

with what is referred to as, “knowledge”.



Yet, we are born helpless and have to be cared,
nurtured, to be inculcated with discipline, taught and
developed by a Murabbi’ (EDUCATOR) – the first of
whom are our PARENTS.

Belief Submission Best or
Faith Obedience Righteous
Conviction Practice Conduct
Faith without obedience is meaningless; and obedience without Faith is
mere rituals and may even lead to hypocrisy.
Together, Faith and Obedience must lead to Righteousness with IHSAN
which essentially focus in our intention to sincerely serve Allah s.w.t.
Thus, in these three aspects can one be said to be true in his submission
to the Will of Allah (as Muslim).



II-MAN


Definition of iiman :

“Utterance with the tongue (speech);

affirmation with the heart/mind (conviction);

and manifesting through practice (actions).”

“But Satan caused them both to stumble therein, and
thus brought about the loss of their erstwhile state.
And so We said: "Down with you, [and be henceforth]
enemies unto one another; and on earth you shall
have your abode and your livelihood for a while!“

Thereupon Adam received words [of guidance] from
his Sustainer, and He accepted his repentance: for,
verily, He alone is the-Acceptor of Repentance, the
Dispenser of Grace.”
(Qur’an: Baqarah: 2: 35-37)


“HALLOWED be He (Allah) in whose hand all dominion
rests, since He (Allah) has the power to will anything:
He who has created death as well as life, so that He
(Allah) might put you to a test [and thus show] which
of you is best in conduct, and [make you realize that]
He (Allah) alone is almighty, truly forgiving.”
(Qur’an: Mulk: 67: 1-2)


“Every (most) children of Adam makes mistakes, and the
best of them who makes mistakes are those who repents.”
(Hadith reported by Ibnu Majah)


“Verily, Allah loves those who turn unto Him in repentance
and He loves those who keep themselves pure.”
(Qur’an: Baqarah: 2: 222)


“Yet withal, behold, I forgive all sins unto any who
repents and attains to faith and does righteous
deeds, and thereafter keeps to the right path.”
(Qur’an: Ta Ha: 20: 82)


“Hence, turn towards your Sustainer [alone] and surrender
yourselves unto Him before the suffering [of death and
resurrection] comes upon you, for then you will not be
succoured.

And before that suffering comes upon you of a sudden,
without your being aware [of its approach], follow the most
goodly [teaching] that has been revealed unto you by your
Sustainer,”
(Qur’an: Zumar: 39: 54-55)


“O you who have attained to faith! Turn unto Allah in sincere
repentance: it may well be that your Sustainer will efface from
you your bad deeds, and will admit you into gardens through
which running waters flow, on a Day on which Allah will not
shame the Prophet and those who share his faith: their light
will spread rapidly before them, and on their right; [and] they
will pray: "O our Sustainer! Cause this our light to shine for us
forever, and forgive us our sins: for, verily, Thou hast the power
to will anything!"”
(Qur’an: Tahrim: 66: 8)


“Verily, Allah's acceptance of repentance relates only to
those who do evil out of ignorance and then repent before
their time runs out: and it is they unto whom Allah will turn
again in His mercy - for Allah is all-knowing, wise;”
(Qur’an: an-Nisa’: 4: 17)


“whereas repentance shall not be accepted from those who
do evil deeds until their dying hour and then say, "Behold, I
now repent"; nor from those who die as deniers of the truth:
it is these for whom We have readied grievous suffering.”
(Qur’an: an-Nisa’: 4: 18)


“And be constant in praying at the beginning and the end of
the day, as well as during the early watches of the night:
for, verily, good deeds drive away evil deeds: this is a
reminder to all who bear [Allah] in mind.”
(Qur’an: Hud: 11: 114)


“And seeing that he who repents and [thenceforth] does
what is right has truly turned unto Allah by [this very act of]
repentance.”
(Qur’an: Furqan: 25: 71)


“(By being) Remorseful (NADAM) is Repentance (TAUBAH)”
(Hadith reported by Abu Daud and Hakim)


a. To cease (stop) and keep away from disobedience and wrong-
doings ;
b. Must have remorse (regret) for having committed those sins;
c. Must have strong resolve and making pledge not to repeat
those sins and wrong-doing;
d. Strive to seek forgiveness unto those whom you have
wronged, including making as much remedy (reparation)
necessary toward them who has the right to demand it from
you;
e. To begin to do as much righteous deeds from then on.


“And ordain Thou for us what is good in this world as well
as in the life to come: behold, unto Thee have we turned in
repentance!" [Allah] answered: "With My chastisement do
I afflict whom I will - but My grace overspreads everything:
and so I shall confer it on those who are conscious of Me
and spend in charity, and who believe in Our messages-”
(Qur’an: A’raf: 7: 156)


“Be conscious of Allah (TAQWA) wherever you may be, and follow-
up whatever misdeeds you may have committed (as reparation) by
doing (more) righteous deeds (for these) shall efface them (the
negative effect of these misdeeds), and interact with people in the
best manner of disposition (i.e. adopt a noble character).”
(Hadith reported by Tabrani from Abi Dzar)


“And [know that] he who commits aught (those sins) thereof
shall [not only] meet with a full requital [but] shall have his
suffering doubled on Resurrection Day: for on that [Day] he
shall abide in ignominy (shame).

Excepted, however, shall be they who repent and attain to
faith and do righteous deeds: for it is they whose [erstwhile]
bad deeds Allah will transform into good ones - seeing that
Allah is indeed much-forgiving, a dispenser of grace,”
(Qur’an: Furqan: 25: 68-70)


“SAY: “[Thus speaks Allah:] ‘O you servants of Mine who have
transgressed against your own selves! Despair not of Allah’s
mercy: behold, Allah forgives all sins - for, verily, He alone is
much forgiving, a dispenser of grace!’”
(Qur’an: Zumar: 39: 53)

“I seek the forgiveness of Allah, the Most Esteemed,
Whom there is no god except Him, He is the Ever-Living,
the Self-subsisting, and to Him I turn in repentance,”

IN-NAKA – AN-TAT - TAW-WAA-BUL- GHA-FOOR

“O my Lord, forgive me and turn towards me
(to accept my repentance). Verily You are
The Oft-Returning. The Oft-Forgiving.”


“O Allah, You are my Lord, none has the right to be
worshipped except You, You created me and I am Your
servant and I abide to Your covenant and promise as
best I can, I take refuge in You from the evil of which I
have committed. I acknowledge Your favor upon me
and I acknowledge my sin, so forgive me, for verily
none can forgive sin except You.”

“O Allah, I have committed much sins against You, and
(as well as) against them who are Your creations.
Therefore as to the sins committed towards You I beg
Forgiveness from You; and as to the sins I committed
towards Your creations, I beseech You to be my
Guarantor on my behalf (against their claims).
And enrich me (with merits) from Your Mercy, O (Allah,
You are) Most Merciful of those who show Mercy.”


“Our Lord ! Let not our hearts swerve from the truth after You
have guided us; and bestow upon us the gift of Thy Grace
(Mercy): verily, You are the (true) giver of Gifts (bestowals).”
(Qur’an : Aali ‘Imran : 3 : 8)

“Our Lord ! Condemn us not if we forget or fall into error; Our
Lord! Lay not on us a burden like that which You did lay on
those before us : Our Lord ! Lay not on us a burden greater
than we have strength to bear. Blot out our sins, And grant
us forgiveness, Have Mercy on us. You are our protector :
Help us against the unbelievers.”
(Qur’an : al-Baqarah : 286)

"Our Lord! Give us good in this world and good in the Hereafter
and save us from the torment of the fire!"
(Qur’an : al-Baqarah: 2 : 201)

“(May) Allah grant His Reward upon Muhammad, salutations
of Allah and Peace be upon him and his family, in accordance
with what he deserves (in Allah’s knowledge & estimation).”

And salutations of Allah and Peace be
upon our Leader Muhammad, and upon
His household and Companions .

”Glory to thy Lord the Lord, of Honour and Power! (He is free)
from what they ascribe (to Him)! And Peace on the
Messengers! And praise to Allah, the Lord and Cherisher of
the Worlds.”

(Qur’an : Saffat: 37 : 180-182)

by Your Mercy, (O Allah, You are) the
Most Merciful of those who show Mercy!”
