3. IPHONE TARGET
AUDIENCE SCREEN
I have created an iphone screen that a typical teen whom would
play the game ‘Captain Cheddar’, they’re at the age where they’re
involved with social networking. They use messages but maybe
mainly whats app because at their age they cannot pay to send
messages.

5. TARGET AUDIENCE
ANALYSIS
I would place Captain Cheddar down the bottom because it’s a niche/casual game, it’s not a hardcore game
because there’s no killing or exploring aspects to this game. It involves very little skill and knowledge to play.

9. WHAT APP STORE RATING WOULD YOU
GET FOR YOUR GAME?
4+. This is the rating for an application with no objectionable material. You can think of it like a
U rated movie.
Drugs : References to illegal drugs or drug misuse must be infrequent and innocuous, or have a
clear educational purpose or anti-drug message suitable for young children.
Imitable behaviour : Potentially dangerous or anti-social behaviour which young children may
copy must be clearly disapproved of. No emphasis on realistic or easily accessible weapons.
Language : Infrequent use only of very mild bad language.
Nudity : Occasional nudity, with no sexual context.
Sex : Only very mild sexual behaviour (for example, kissing) and references to such behaviour.
Threat : Scary or potentially unsettling sequences should be mild, brief and unlikely to cause
undue anxiety to young children. The outcome should be reassuring.
Violence : Violence will generally be very mild. Mild violence may be acceptable if it is
justified by context (for example, comedic, animated, wholly unrealistic).
The app store rating that our game ‘Captain Cheddar’
would get is 4+
Our game doesn’t include and violence or bad language
that would harm young children, as this game was created
for the younger generation.
Even though Captain Cheddar isn’t wearing any clothes he
is represented as a chunk of cheese which doesn’t come
across and harmful.

10. APP ICON FEEDBACK
AfterBefore
Scott: The changes made complimented the layout of the icon, for instance, the black ring added around
it captain cheddars hat, as well as the title and ‘B’ logo. The adjustment made to the title with the white
outline also helps to create a title that pops out more and is less bland. The positioning of the ‘big crown
media’ logo feels quite random, but i think it would of been hard to find a suitable place for it, so it may
of looked better without it.

11. APP STORE COST OF
CAPTAIN CHEDDAR
I have decided to make my game free on the app store as opposed to charging for it. Our target audience of
children to pre-teens may be slightly isolating since they most likely do not have their own form of income
to use. Making our game free will attract a wider audience without people snubbing it due to not wanting to
pay for it. Also after doing research i discovered most games in this genre are also free, therefore us also
making it free helps us to compete with other apps that are similar to ours.
PRICE: Free

13. APP ICON COLOUR
IDEAS
I tried lots of different colours, some of them I kept with the theme and others I used different colours that are not connected to the
game in any way. My favourite is the second one along, the colours are not exactly matching the game but are the same shades

14. THE BIG BANG THEORY
T-SHIRT COMPARISON
This T-shirt is simple and says what it is, ‘The Big Bang
Theory’. This show is largely popular and is recognised
by most people aged between 14-35.
This T-shirt would only be recognised by fans of the show to recognise
that this saying is used regularly in the shows by ‘Sheldon Cooper’. This
T-shirt doesn’t have ‘The Big Bang Theory’ logo or title printed on the
shirt so you’d have to be quite a large fan to clock that this is a Big Bang
theory joke T-Shirt.

16. CAPTAIN CHEDDAR
MERCHANDISE DESIGN
I have started looking at creating merchandise for Captain Cheddar, I think this will become a successful
franchise and our target audience will spread the word about the merchandise. The hats will be priced
around £7.99 and the sweaters a little bit more at around £12.99, both will be made with good quality and
the bright colours will add a little fun to the outfit.

which are written by the Committees of Advertising Practice. Our work includes acting on complaints and proactively checking the media to

18. DIRECT POSTER DESIGN
I've kept the
background the same
colour as the one in the
Captain Cheddar game
so it matches the theme
and people will
recognise it. I think
there's something
missing that could
make the poster look a
lot better so I've
gathered feedback from
peers:
Kaylee - The poster
would look more
professional with a
border
Ollie - add a banner
around the 'Download
on app store now!'
James - give the
background more
detail, sand or beach
stones as the
background to make it
look more interesting
and stand out.
Taking the feedback
into mind I have
created a new poster
which I think looks
much better and more
professional.

19. BILLBOARD DESIGN
The main idea for this
billboard design is to catch
peoples eyes when driving
along or walking through the
city, they will see this billboard
and become curious of this
game and hopefully search for
Captain Cheddar in the app
store.
