Smooth way of making your own Smoothies
Are you tired of chewing all those fruits and veggies recommended by your nutritionist or just
plain lazy to move your jaws in a way to grind those healthy harvest into pieces? If you’re either or even
both of those here is a simple solution for you. Get all the fruits you want to eat shove them up to a
blender, put some sugar, honey, or whatever you can think of, add ice(optional) , turn on the blender
and let the magic(plus a side of luck) do its work. That ladies and gentlemen is how you make your own

make your own smoothies. If you’re going to prepare it for your own, then why not add a touch of pros
to your healthy revitalizing drink.

delightful smoothies.
KNOW YOUR FRUITS AND VEGGIES
Not all fruit contains the vitamins and minerals you need to meet your day’s need. That’s why
you need to know what is inside of every fruit and vegetables before you put them into your blender.
Berries
Berries contain antioxidants that are great against aging signs and cardiovascular diseases.
According to Sally Barclay, a registered dietician of Iowa State University, Blueberries and Strawberries
are has more antioxidants compared to other fresh berries may help lessen cholesterol build up in
arteries. Berries also have fiber, vitamins A and C, potassium and magnesium.
Citrus
Citrus fruits such as Pineapple, Lemon, Limes and Oranges contain vitamin C and potassium that
boost your energy and replenish your daily need of vitamin C. A slice of lemon or any citrus fruit to a
green smoothie may also help in better iron absorption.
Fleshy Fruits
Bananas and plantain are fleshy fruit that contains fiber, potassium and vitamin C. You can avoid
potassium lost due to exercise by sipping a potassium rich and refreshing fresh banana smoothie
Stone Fruits
Peaches, Mangoes, Plums and Cherries are example of stone fruits that contains antioxidant,
vitamins A and B, and potassium. Adding stone fruits to your smoothie will give it thick foam like texture.
Orange Vegetables
Orange vegetables such as pumpkin, carrots and sweet potatoes are high in vitamin A, Iron and
potassium. Orange vegetables add texture and sweetness to your smoothie.
Greens
Combining green vegetables to sweet fruits to make a smoothie will make it easy for you to
provide iron, vitamin K and C, and calcium to your kids who refuse to eat green vegetables raw or
cooked. Adding Bele, a leafy vegetable grown in Pacific, will add creamy texture to your smoothie.
KNOW YOUR BLENDER
Many of us didn’t know that the blenders we use at home also greatly affect the texture and
taste of our smoothies. Most blenders only last a week or two (depending on how many times it has
been used for a day). There are different parts of the blender you need to take note before buying your
very own blender. The Blades—blades are essential in making your smoothies. You should look for
blades that has thick base (having thick base helps blade stability and avoid the blade from being numb).
For better smoothie experience, look for a blender with 3 or more blades pointing on different
directions (up, down and horizontal). The Pitcher—pitcher size depends on your personal usage and
dose of smoothie but always pick a blender with glass pitcher. Plastic pitchers are not suitable for
crushing ice for it may break and just create a huge mess and danger. The Engine— higher watts
produce better blender performance. Engines that are not strong enough oftentimes burn when used
up to 5 times a day.

Drinking smoothies can also be a substitute to your daily nutritional intake of fruits and vegetables.
Smoothies can also be stored in the fridge for future use. Thus, reducing the time and energy you need
for a day or two. You just need to open the fridge, take the smoothie and drink it.
