◦ The project consists of (8) identical stores in a commercial complex. This project is located in the
eastern extension in BADR CITY, Cairo, Egypt.
◦ The project consists of a single story
◦ Applicable Law: Law No. 182 of 2018 Promulgating The Law Regulating Contracts Concluded
by Public Bodies.

What is a Contract
◦ A contract is a mutual business agreement recognized by law under which one party undertakes
to do work for another party. Good administration of contracts minimizes costs, risks, claims and
maximizes savings & economic returns.
Unit Price Contract
◦ Advantages
◦ Allow the owner of the project to make changes in some items by increasing or decreasing
during the implementation of the project and also involving the contractor and the owner to
bear the risks that may occur to the project during the implementation.
◦ Disadvantages
◦ The owner shall not be certain of the actual value of the project until the completion of the
project. The reason for this is due to the accuracy of the unit price calculation for each item
within the project.
Lump Sum Contract
◦ Low risk to the owner.

Store bars of different classes, sizes and lengths separately to facilitate issues in such sizes and lengths so as to minimize wastage in cutting from standard lengths.
Paint the ends of bars of each class in distinct separate colors.
Coat steel reinforcement with cement wash before stacking to prevent scaling and rusting.
If reinforcement bars have to be stored for a long period, then stack it above ground level by at least 150 mm.
Bricks should be stacked on edge in rows to a maximum height of 2.4 m. It is important that they are stored on level, well-drained ground and covered with a polythene sheet to protect against efflorescence and other issues. When calculating the area required for storage, allowance of around 5 m should be given for the forklift approach.
