Problem: Metal NVG mount is unprotected, could snag on
parachute suspension lines during a jump, covers rank insignia,
top strap if snagged on vegetation could yank entire mount and
possibly $7K Night Vision Goggle off helmet! Present SOP using
covering wad of 100 mph tape is sloppy and covers rank/last name

Solution: (1) Remove helmet NVG strap, (2) use helmet center
front bolt NVG mount it to helmet; problem sharp edges still present
to snag; mount unprotected

Sew SKEDCO cover to helmet cover (3). Bolt NVG mount to helmet
front over SKEDCO cover (4). Red lines indicate where SKEDCO cover
is sewn to helmet cover. Top flap is kept free to fold down over the
NVG mount onto the side velcro strips.

(6) piece of velcro sewn above SKEDCO cover on helmet cover for
holding flap in open position when out of the way for NVG mounting.
