Prince Royce was born in 1989 in the Bronx, New York to Dominican parents. He developed an interest in music at a young age by participating in his elementary school choir and talent contests. At age 13, he began writing poetry which later evolved into song lyrics composition. His debut self-titled album was released in 2010.
