Assignment 2: Application: Process Recordings
A process recording is a written tool field education experience
students, field instructors, and faculty use to examine the
dynamics of social work interactions in time. Process recordings
can help in developing and refining interviewing and
intervention skills. By conceptualizing and organizing ongoing
activities with social work clients, you are able to clarify the
purpose of interviews and interventions, identify personal and
professional strengths and weaknesses, and improve self-
awareness. The process recording is also a useful tool in
exploring the interpersonal dynamics and values operating
between you and the client system through an analysis of
filtering the process used in recording a session.
For this Assignment, you will submit a process recording of
your field education experiences specific to this week.
The Assignment (2–4 pages):
· Provide a transcript of what happened during your field
education experience, including a dialogue of interaction with a
client.
· Explain your interpretation of what occurred in the dialogue,
including social work practice or theories, and explain how it
might relate to intervention covered this week.
· Describe your reactions and/or any issues related to your
interaction with a client during your field education experience.
· Explain how you applied social work practice skills when
performing the activities during your process recording.

Brigid’s Hope
Brigid’s Hope is a program under the organization “The
Beacon.” This program is designed to provide transitional
housing. Brigid’s Hope is focused on providing resources to
reduce the rate of women going back to the criminal justice
system.
Characteristics of Population
Brigid’s Hope serves women aged 35 and above. These women
are previously incarcerated and are homeless. The criteria for
women to be eligible for this program is that they have been
previously incarcerated, has a high school diploma and is
referred by a social worker or treatment program, which present
with the report that she is sober for the previous three months.
3. sources of funding
Brigid’s Hope receives finances through donors. Donors’
information is kept confidential based on the Donor Privacy
Policy. Other than donors, Brigid’s Hope has many community
partners, including New Hope Housing, The Council on
Recovery, United Way of Greater Houston etc.

Brigid’s Hope’s mission is to serve women who are ex-
offenders, homeless that wants to be independent and self-
sufficient. Brigid’s Hope provides housing and supports to
women aged 35 and above to be self-sufficient so that they will
not return to the criminal justice system. The program’s goal is
to reduce recidivism among women. The program’s focus is on
empowering women.
Brigid’s Hope’s mission is to use evidence-based interventions
to help women remain drug-free and develop self-sufficient
skills.

The purpose of the learning agreeme nt was to give students a
well-rounded learning experience, and it was designed
according to the learning expectations of the student during
their field placement.
Learning agreement focused on the development of the
following core competencies that focused on student’s learning
related to ethics and professionalism; dealing with diverse
clients, engaging with the clients in different contexts such as
individual, family, and group contexts, and using evidence-
4. based interventions for achieving the program outcome.
Agency’s Mission statement and learning agreement
The agency provided various opportunities to learn different
core competencies. Such as the student gets the chance to
interact with clients in individual and group contexts. Similarly,
the interventions focused on previously incarcerated women to
help them become self-sufficient and refrain from drugs and
alcohol are evidence-based. Agencies are required to use
evidence-based interventions that are effective and produce the
desired outcome (Birkenmaier & Berg-Weger, 2018).
organizational structure
The organizational structure of Brigid’s Hope is a functional
organizational structure. Organizations that have a function
structure start with the highest position with the highest
responsibility and go down from there like the hierarchical
organizational structure. The employees are grouped together
based on their similar skills and tasks (Williams, 2020).
As Brigid’s Hope program works under The Beacon
organization, it has a similar organizational structure such as a
chairman, president, director, and separate directors for each
program or agency working under the organization The Beacon.
