THE BEGINNNING
The reality of building influence, especially online, is that it takes time to build like every other thing.
It should all begin with clarity. Finding your core, and what resonates with your core. Your core is your unique message. That
knowledge or experience you believe will help others if you share with them.
Let me help you with this: Tade got pregnant as a teenager, her uncle got her pregnant. Although she is now happy married,
she shares her message to parents and young girls. This is her message, a message culled from her experience.
This might not be your case, but I guarantee that there is something unique you, and your views about certain regular issues.
This is the beginning. Clarity is the beginning.
When you have not gained clarity about your message, it reflects in your social media relations. Your posts are haphazard.
Tomorrow politics, today sports, the day after tomorrow - law, etc.

Building Influence begins with clarifying
Your life
I know you can do many things, but really you can't adequately build influence in totally unrelated things.
HAVE YOU IDENTIFIED A CAUSE YOU WANT TO STICK WITH?
Either as a passion turned to work or a career built to the top.
WHEN YOU FIND YOUR CORE, YOU'LL MOST LIKELY UNDERSTAND YOUR MESSAGE.
Quite a number of people have grown in something they are deeply not interested in.
If it doesn't resonate with you, you can't build a reverberating influence.
More often than not, we have a message, but we are too scared to share it or seek acceptance.
Sometimes, it is the case of considering ourselves as not knowing enough. While a sincere evaluation
of yourself is ok, it’s not enough to stop you from starting out.
“Expertise is built in doing, not in the waiting.”
Study all you can about swimming, the real world swimming will still test you.
So, When are you going to jump into the pool friend?
Clarifying Your Life is important
If you cast your net too wide, it will be difficult to gain the level of knowledge necessary to be considered an expert.
For the multitalented, there might be a problem of focus, and staying on one thing per time, but you must decide on what you
will do.
Being Multitalented has a physiological basis. They are very creative, but their talents almost become a curse to those who
don't understand talent management.
Maturity starts at the point of knowing whom and what to let go and at what time to initiate the separation or segregation.
Deal with You, and begin to truly live.
Ok, so WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO BE AN
INFLUENCER?
You've got to answer that question?
Find Your reasons.
What is influence?
Influence refers to the power to change or affect someone or something the power to cause changes
without directly forcing them to happen
An influencer is a person or thing that affects someone or something in an important way
There are many reasons to want to be an influencer.
As an influencer, you get to affect behavior. As a social media influencer, you influence behavior, you affect
what people talk about, share, and even who they will follow. This is pretty powerful stuff. Think about how
social media influence can affect web traffic, audience growth, product sales, product launch, consulting
gigs, brand recognition and client work, or better still how it has affected you.

Fame is different from influence. One
can be famous and have no influence.
Growing Your Influence
● Is to get people to care about you, and your message
● Is to get cheerleaders

Some people may never purchase from you in time, BUT they may be loyal in sharing your content.
Personal branding is being knowable, likable and trustable. I believe this where influence begins from.
Knowable: Do we know you? What do we know you for?
Likable. Are your posts relevant or engaging
Trustable. Who trusts you? First why should i trust you when you're not the only one out there?
Social Media Myths
To become influential on social media, you have to spend so much time on social media.
Your number of friends determine how influential you are.
Fame is the same with influence.
None of the above is true

CLARIFY
FOCUS on your message
PROPAGATE your message, aggressively
STUDY: develop yourself. Develop a system to stay abreast on latest trends in your industry.
Then MONETIZE.
How to Build Influence on Social Media
First, Conduct a profile audit
Does your profile say anything about you? Is it professional? Can you get a referral from mere looking at
your profile? What does your profile banner say?
Go ahead and make the necessary changes.
TO GROW YOUR INFLUENCE THROUGH THE SOCIAL MEDIA
Start with what you know. Start with what you know. Start with what you know. On starting with what you
know, share what you know, not only on your timeline, but join groups and lists. Share your stuffs. Just
share.
Quality over quantity. It’s not about how much or how many. Choose a channel or two and be consistent.
YOU can build influence in any niche. Just find your interest and share your
uniqueness until you are able to earn a right to be heard.
As you create and peddle your content
Avoid mediocrity. Mediocrity isn’t an option for your audience
Share opinions and make data backed opinions. Spice your opinions with data sometimes
Write contents in parts. (part 1, part 2). Tell emotional stories.
Connect to Influencers
Connect to influencers along the path you intend to follow. Don't try to show off. Coming off as someone
who knows something can be annoying. Be humble. Offer help and ask questions, even about the things
you know.
Have you identified the influencers in your path?
ONE WAY TO GROW YOUR INFLUENCE IS TO widen your network. You need to find a way to get your art
before new faces. The familiar ones are more often than not, late adopters
Join groups on facebook, lists on twitter, Start a community. On a starting a community,
● A group is better suited for building influence than a page.
● It's not about how many persons are communicating within the group. Most people focus on quantity.
But some are silent followers
Focus on growing your message and the top 20% of people who will be your loyal fans
“You cannot become influential on social media by spending all of your time on
social media. Otherwise, you’ll just be social media famous for being social
media famous.”
Write for A-list publications. You can publish on Medium.com
Medium.com is a great alternative for people who might find it difficult to manage a blog.
Request to write for popular blogs concerning your niche. Pitch to them.
HASHTAGS
hash·tag: A word or phrase preceded by a hash mark (#), used within a message to identify a keyword or
topic of interest and facilitate a search for it.
It is basically used to aggregate conversations.
So whenever a user adds a hashtag to their post, it is immediately indexed by the social network and
searchable by other users. Once someone clicks on that hashtag, they’ll be brought to a page that
aggregates all of the posts with the same hashtagged keyword in real-time.
Once a keyword picks up enough momentum it becomes known as “trending.” Trending isn’t simply a
matter of becoming the most popular hashtag on the networks. Each users’ trending topics is different
based on their location and social connections.
When creating your own branded hashtag be sure to not use too many different ones. This will be counter
productive in branding the hashtag.
The more hashtags you brand, the harder it will be to get a momentum built around it.
Don’t use more than three hashtags per post on average (however, look at the best practices of the
social media platform, the recommended could be more or less)
More than 8 hashtags in one post is perceived as hashtag spamming
Use caution when using a hashtag on sites that don’t make them into hyperlinks like LinkedIn

On twitter, you can always research trending #hashtags
CREATE SHAREABLE IMAGE POSTS
Image posts gets more attention than simply text. Video leads them all, especially on facebook. For
facebook users, organic reach has diminished. What this means is that your posts only reach a fraction of
your followers. However, posts with more engagements (likes and comments) are always recycled in the
news feeds.
However, you can always tag friends. But be careful of tagging too many people in the name of visibility. A
group or List is a better way to get visibility and organic engagements.
Organic engagements are actions taking on posts, that are not advertisement. People share images easily
and infact save them.
VIDEO WORKS TOO
Do videos, use facebook live. Use periscope for twitter. Use instagram stories for
instagram.
And if you can afford it, do high end videos. Simply open a youtube account, and
begin to upload your videos.
Don’t forget that it is not just about quantity, content quality is equally important
SOCIAL MEDIA RULES
Write authoritative posts, once in a while, one that is full of details.
Avoid unnecessary bickering on the social media
Publish your accomplishments. The issue of modesty is not in how it is done, but what the heart says,
depending on the state of the heart anyways. We live in a more visually driven world. When we know what
you are doing, we can be able to call you for an opportunity, recommend you for an opportunity, pay you
for your service, and understand your identity.
Avoid being too commercial, always trying to sell something
Share other people’s great work on your timeline. Don’t be afraid of losing your followers to them. Influence
leaks when you hoard information. They will eventually get the information else where.
Monitoring Your Growth
As you perform all these, endeavour to monitor how you're doing
Set Google Alerts for yourself to know how you're mentioned on the web.

Use Klout https://klout.com/home
Visit Home.Kred to build influence.
HOOTSUITE is a useful tool to schedule automatic posts on multiple platforms. You will also get some
metrics from these
I love Google Alerts.
Set alerts for anything you love, the moment any content concerning your alert...say 'longevity' ,
Google compiles the most recent content and sends to you.
Audience Psychology
They are skeptical. They operate with a bias for anyone they are just meeting.
They are also trying to build something.
Some of them don't know what they need until you start to propagate your message.
They love easy to follow steps.
They want to be spoon fed into what to do. They want to be educated into action.
What are you waiting for?
As you grow your influence, don’t forget, the social space is
still a virtual space. Having a huge number of followers
doesn’t mean loyalty. In any case, create digital products in
form of books and online courses that you can earn from.

  • 2. THE BEGINNNING The reality of building influence, especially online, is that it takes time to build like every other thing. It should all begin with clarity. Finding your core, and what resonates with your core. Your core is your unique message. That knowledge or experience you believe will help others if you share with them. Let me help you with this: Tade got pregnant as a teenager, her uncle got her pregnant. Although she is now happy married, she shares her message to parents and young girls. This is her message, a message culled from her experience. This might not be your case, but I guarantee that there is something unique you, and your views about certain regular issues. This is the beginning. Clarity is the beginning. When you have not gained clarity about your message, it reflects in your social media relations. Your posts are haphazard. Tomorrow politics, today sports, the day after tomorrow - law, etc.
  • 3. Have You Found Your Core? What’s stopping You? You, or the world? In most cases, we are responsible for our life’s pace.
  • 4. Building Influence begins with clarifying Your life I know you can do many things, but really you can't adequately build influence in totally unrelated things. HAVE YOU IDENTIFIED A CAUSE YOU WANT TO STICK WITH? Either as a passion turned to work or a career built to the top. WHEN YOU FIND YOUR CORE, YOU'LL MOST LIKELY UNDERSTAND YOUR MESSAGE. Quite a number of people have grown in something they are deeply not interested in. If it doesn't resonate with you, you can't build a reverberating influence.
  • 5. More often than not, we have a message, but we are too scared to share it or seek acceptance. Sometimes, it is the case of considering ourselves as not knowing enough. While a sincere evaluation of yourself is ok, it’s not enough to stop you from starting out. “Expertise is built in doing, not in the waiting.” Study all you can about swimming, the real world swimming will still test you. So, When are you going to jump into the pool friend?

For the multitalented, there might be a problem of focus, and staying on one thing per time, but you must decide on what you will do. Being Multitalented has a physiological basis. Maturity starts at the point of knowing whom and what to let go and at what time to initiate the separation or segregation. Deal with You, and begin to truly live.

Think about how social media influence can affect web traffic, audience growth, product sales, product launch, consulting gigs, brand recognition and client work, or better still how it has affected you. Personal branding is being knowable, likable and trustable. I believe this where influence begins from. Knowable: Do we know you? What do we know you for? Likable. Are your posts relevant or engaging Trustable. Who trusts you? First why should i trust you when you're not the only one out there?

What does your profile banner say? Go ahead and make the necessary changes. TO GROW YOUR INFLUENCE THROUGH THE SOCIAL MEDIA Start with what you know. Start with what you know. You need to find a way to get your art before new faces. The familiar ones are more often than not, late adopters Join groups on facebook, lists on twitter, Start a community. On a starting a community, ● A group is better suited for building influence than a page. ● It's not about how many persons are communicating within the group. Most people focus on quantity. But some are silent followers Focus on growing your message and the top 20% of people who will be your loyal fans

Otherwise, you’ll just be social media famous for being social media famous.” Write for A-list publications. You can publish on Medium.com Medium.com is a great alternative for people who might find it difficult to manage a blog. Request to write for popular blogs concerning your niche. Pitch to them.
  • 19. HASHTAGS hash·tag: A word or phrase preceded by a hash mark (#), used within a message to identify a keyword or topic of interest and facilitate a search for it. It is basically used to aggregate conversations. So whenever a user adds a hashtag to their post, it is immediately indexed by the social network and searchable by other users. Once someone clicks on that hashtag, they’ll be brought to a page that aggregates all of the posts with the same hashtagged keyword in real-time. Once a keyword picks up enough momentum it becomes known as “trending.” Trending isn’t simply a matter of becoming the most popular hashtag on the networks. Each users’ trending topics is different based on their location and social connections. When creating your own branded hashtag be sure to not use too many different ones. This will be counter productive in branding the hashtag.
  • 20. The more hashtags you brand, the harder it will be to get a momentum built around it.   • 21. CREATE SHAREABLE IMAGE POSTS Image posts gets more attention than simply text. Video leads them all, especially on facebook. For facebook users, organic reach has diminished. What this means is that your posts only reach a fraction of your followers. However, posts with more engagements (likes and comments) are always recycled in the news feeds. However, you can always tag friends. But be careful of tagging too many people in the name of visibility. A group or List is a better way to get visibility and organic engagements. Organic engagements are actions taking on posts, that are not advertisement. People share images easily and infact save them.
  • 22. VIDEO WORKS TOO Do videos, use facebook live. Use periscope for twitter. Use instagram stories for instagram. And if you can afford it, do high end videos. Simply open a youtube account, and begin to upload your videos. Don’t forget that it is not just about quantity, content quality is equally important
  • 23. SOCIAL MEDIA RULES Write authoritative posts, once in a while, one that is full of details. Avoid unnecessary bickering on the social media Publish your accomplishments. The issue of modesty is not in how it is done, but what the heart says, depending on the state of the heart anyways. We live in a more visually driven world. When we know what you are doing, we can be able to call you for an opportunity, recommend you for an opportunity, pay you for your service, and understand your identity. Avoid being too commercial, always trying to sell something Share other people’s great work on your timeline. Don’t be afraid of losing your followers to them. Influence leaks when you hoard information. They will eventually get the information else where.

You will also get some metrics from these I love Google Alerts. Set alerts for anything you love, the moment any content concerning your alert...say 'longevity' , Google compiles the most recent content and sends to you.
  • 25. Audience Psychology They are skeptical. They operate with a bias for anyone they are just meeting. They are also trying to build something. Some of them don't know what they need until you start to propagate your message. They love easy to follow steps. They want to be spoon fed into what to do. They want to be educated into action.
