Exploring why communication is a fundamental part of public transport projects, this presentation covers three general areas: - What communication is (and what it is not) - Why it should matter to urban transport professionals - Some of the key ingredients needed to do it right This presentation was delivered at the Transforming Transportation 2010 Conference hosted by EMBARQ - The World Resources Institute Center for Sustainable Transport - and the World Bank. The conference convenes senior decision makers and professionals from around the world to share the latest experience, information and best practices focused on the provision of safe, clean, and affordable transport services. The World Bank has been an annual partner in hosting Transforming Transportation, and increasingly, the event has been co-organized by other international development banks. This year’s partners include the Inter-American Development Bank, the Asian Development Bank, and the Partnership on Sustainable Low Carbon Transport.
