AMD EPYC Family of Processors World Record
1. THE BEST GETS BETTER
As of 6/22/2021, see amd.com/worldrecords for the complete list.
Editor's Notes
The performance we’re offering is incredible.
When we launched the second generation EPYC processors, AMD was very proud to be able to show over 80 world records across a wide range of applications and workloads.
And today, the best just keeps getting better. The EPYC family now has claimed over 200 world records across nearly every type of application, every type of workload, every type of customer. Our 3rd Gen EPYC contributed to 185 of those total records including 20 price/performance overall world records on the TPC Benchmarks. Also, SPEC CPU 2017 is one of the most important server benchmarks and obtaining a world record on the benchmark is very prestigious. For 1- and 2-socket servers, 3rd Gen doesn’t get just one, or two world records, Milan does a clean sweep with world records on ALL 8 of the SPEC CPU 2017 performance metrics plus the 2nd Gen still holds the overall world record title for integer and floating-point apps on 32P servers.
That’s a testament to the performance that the third generation EPYC family brings. Performance that will deliver real results for our customers.
Lisa showed earlier the leadership performance at the top of the stack. Our 64 core EPYC processors have more than twice the performance of the competition.
But many customers prefer lower core count parts in the middle of the stack. There as well we're delivering performance that beats all comers.
Background:
69 industry-standard benchmarks are peer reviewed or audited before being posted to the respective websites for ranking. The AMD EPYC family has 253 total world records (not counting 3 ties) when viewed from the overall, socket count, or other allowed “fence claims”. The EPYC Family of Processors all contribute to the overall count.
185 Milan world records
69 Rome world records
2 Naples world record
253 Total world records (256 counting ties)
Milan has world record SPEC CPU 2017 performance - on arguably the most popular server benchmark, Milan wins on every single 1- and 2-socket server performance metric SPEC created including all but 1-socket integer energy metrics.
