• In the digital era, APIs are more important than a well defined GUI, so think
about adopting an API-first approach
• APIs are an enabler in governing the associated risks around data
• Modern solutions are composed and not built - APIs provide a self-service
access point to your most valuable Services, Capabilities and Data, speeding
up the time to value
• Do not approach your APIs from solely an integration perspective. Think of
APIs as a foundational part of your product offering, whether that be a
platform or data product.
• Ensure you have capabilities to drive consistency and quality, do your APIs
represent your company brand?
