4. New Kingdom Egypt
• Preceded by the decline of:
– the Middle Kingdom
– Period of rule by non-Egyptian Hyksos.
• New Kingdom started through
overthrowing of the Hyksos.
– Began aggressive expansion into Syria-
Palestine and into Nubia.
