Silea Liquid Transfer Srl was established in 1968 and has since specialized in products for handling oil, including load arms, floating arms, and pumps. It has over 90 installations worldwide and certifications that guarantee quality. The company wanted to improve its management of technical documentation by creating a single system to generate customized handbooks for each customer containing drawings, certifications, and manuals from different business sources. The solution involved connecting the company's PDM, ERP, and document management systems via a workflow engine to automatically retrieve and compile all relevant documents into a practice folder for each order. This reduced documentation retrieval times by 70% and the error rate in creating practices by 90%, while improving traceability and customer service.

4. Request
In order to reorganize forces, Silea introduces a new management system that
redefines the flow of information and minimizes the time of quality system
documentation management.
The fundamental aspect of the engineering process is the production of a handbook
addressed to the final customer certifying the product and details the features of the
provided system:
• Technical drawing of the system
• Quality certification of the plant
• Manuals for maintenance and use of individual components of the plant
The ultimate goal is to create a process for making use of all the information and
documents coming from different business sources (fullWORK, PDM, and Office)
through a unique form of consultation, generating a real customer-specific practice for
each plant sold .
6. Solution
Thanks to the ARXivar workflow engine and to the specific connector with the
fullWORK management in use, the installation has been configured to follow the
entire design and production flow, from the articles’ generation to the final
product shipment.
Workflow retrieves
archived documents in
ARXivar and generates
plant / client folder and
certificate
7. Solution
In detail, the design and production flow provides:
• Generating articles and their PDF drawings in PDM
• Importing articles into fullWORK and archiving drawings in ARXivar
• Connection via a suitable connector between the items and their drawings
• Generating Distinctions Production and linking of PDF manuals of each component
• Opening of the order and connection of the certificates of conformity of the
purchase goods
• Generating the plant client pratice containing all documents in the process of
preparing shipments by means of special handhelds
• CE Certificate generation for the plant
• Print entire practice through a dedicated interface from mobile devices
