4. ARCHITECTURE
The Taj Mahal being is one of the seven wonders of the world.
Poet Rabindranath Tagore described it as a tear drop on the
cheek of eternity. Built by Emperor Shah Jahan in 1632 to
house the tomb of his favorite wife Mumtaz Mahal. This is the
most prominent of all architectural monuments in India.

5. The Sun Temple of Konark
The temple was built by King Narasimha of Eastern Ganga Dynasty in
1255 CE.. The temple complex is in the shape of a gigantic chariot,
having elaborately carved stone wheels, pillars and walls]. A major
part of the structure is now in ruins. The temple is aUNESCO World
Heritage site.
Nalanda was an ancient center of higher learning in
Bihar, India. The University of Nalanda is located in the
Indian state of Bihar, and was a Buddhist center of
learning. The great library of Nalanda University was
so vast that it is reported to have burned for three
months after the invaders set fire to it, ransacked and
destroyed the monasteries, and drove the monks from
the site.

6. The Vedas
Forming the earliest Indian scripture, consisting of the Rig Veda, Samar
Veda, Yajur Veda, Athurva Veda, they codified the ideas and practices of
Vedic religion and laid down the basis of classical Hinduism. They were
probably composed between 1500 and 700 BC, and contain hymns,
philosophy, and guidance on ritual.
LITRATURE

7. Rabindranath Tagore-
A Bengali polymath who reshaped literature and music as well
as Indian art with contextual modernism in the late 19th and
early 20th century. He also wrote the national anthem of India.
Sarojini Naidu-
also known by the sobriquet as The Nightingale of India and
was a poet. Naidu served as the first governor of the United
Provinces of Agra and Oudh from 1947 to 1949. She was the
first woman to become the governor of an Indian state.

8. Three Girls:
By Amrita Shergil captures the innocence of three young women
just before adulthood and marriage in rural India in the pre-independence period
did leave a lasting impact on the art world. The painting done in 1935 is on permanent
display at the National Gallery of Modern Art, Delhi.
Mother Teresa:
She has been one of the most influential women in Indian history.
This painting of Mother Teresa in a white sari with a figurative thin blue line
edging by MF Husain, one of India’s leading modern artist who was hounded for
nude paintings of Indian goddesses, are some of the famous images of Indian art
that hold global appeal.

9. Dandi March:
Dandi March, a black and white linocut by Nandalal Bose,
showing the famous march undertaken by Mahatma Gandhi who is also
considered The father if the nation. The painting signifies the march against the
British laws to tax salt in India during colonial days. The work, created in 1930,
is on permanent display at the National Gallery of Modern Art in Delhi .

10. MUSIC & DANCE
Zakir Hussain is an Indian tabla player,
musical producer, film actor and composer.
He was awarded the Padma Shri in 1988, and
the Padma Bhushan in 2002, by the Government
of India.
Some of his notable works are Tintal and Rupak Taal.

11. Bharatanatyam
This is a genre of classical dance originated from
the region of Tamil Nadu. theoretical foundations
trace to the ancient Sanskrit text of Natya Shastra.
The dance is accompanied by music and a singer,
and typically her guru is present as the director
and conductor of the performance

12. SPORTS
Although cricket isn’t the national sport of India
It is widely considered the most popular sport in the
country. A game watched and followed by over a billion people with
legends like Sachin Tendulkara and Rahul Dravid. It is a highly revered sport,
one which is cherished by every Indian.
The Indian cuisine is one of its kind in
the world. Whether it is curry,
or South Indian meals, Indian cuisine
and spices are loved all over the World.
