MESSAGE FROM CHAPTER PRESIDENT
“Walking the Talk of Iota”
The Iota Year began with many challenges that have become
standards in our communication and practice due to the “COVID-19
Crisis”. In Gamma Nu Chapter the occasional Teleconference
Meeting has transitioned to regular monthly Zoom meetings with s
Sorors assisting each other to learn the necessary skills.
We thank Sorors for their active participation in the attendance at the
National Leadership Series during the 74th FWR Virtual Planning
Meeting and the “Iota Talks Series” which was presented in October.
These national meetings gave updates on Iota’s practices and new
procedures.
The chapter began the year in September 2020, with its first workshop
for the year, presented by Adrienne Anderson, Gamma Nu’s
Webmaster titled, “How to Submit Material for Website
Presentation”.
All sorors received a Tool Kit for the 2020-21 year to help facilitate their
work. It included a folder with a copy of the Chapter's working items:
Program with Chapter Goals, Committees and Activity Calendar for the
Year, Reimbursement Vouchers, Iota National Board Members, FWR
Regional Executive Committee and FWR Chapter Presidents.

5 Easy & Quick Strategies to
Uplift and Re-Set Your Day
Let’s face it, we miss life as we knew it. We miss our
friends, our social lives, our routines as we deal with
adjustments and challenges of a historic pandemic.
While we stay inside, social distance, mask up,
wash, wash, wash our hands, we are looking for
ways to keep the spark in our lives, not feel
overwhelmed and stuck because we are not able to
do the things we are used to doing that bring us joy.
Below are some small things we can do, mostly free,
to re-set, and see the wonder of each new day:
Set an Easy Goal (and finish it)
Whether it is a hobby, health related, decluttering, or
cleaning project, start small and scale up. Reaching small
goals inspire you to go for bigger goals, and take on new
tasks. Be specific, set a deadline, make it relevant. See the
result. The feeling of accomplishment is great!
Get Early Morning Light
Could be a short morning walk, or sitting in a sunny
balcony or window for a few minutes or as you read a
book. Exposure to sunlight works wonders, even if
overcast outside, there is light.
Engage Your Senses
Close your eyes and enjoy a new scented candle, let your
mind wander as you indulge in a luxurious bath or shower
with exotic fragrance. Look through that coffee table
book of art, inspirational photos, mind travel to far-a-way
places.
Create a Happy Playlist
Music is great way to uplift your spirits and mood. Have a
Motown dance party of one, read while playing classical
music. Oldies can bring back great memories. Puts a
smile on your face!
Do Something Nice for Someone
Sending an uplifting message, a handwritten card, a
quote, calling just to say hello, checking on a neighbor,
puts a smile on somebody’s face and a warm feeling in
your heart.
Be Grateful
Each morning or night, write a gratitude list. Say it out
loud. Keep your list for 21 days, then go back and review
your list. Be amazed that expressing gratitude has become
a habit, one that makes you feel good. And guest what,
another goal set and accomplished!
