What is Small, medium and Large business definition?
Small : The definition of a small business is an independently owned and operated company that is
limited in size and in revenue depending on the industry. A local bakery that employs 10 people is an
example of a small business. A manufacturing facility that employees less than 500 people is an
example of a small business.
Medium: The European definition of SME follows: "The category of micro, small and medium-
sized enterprises (SMEs) is made up of enterprises which employ fewer than 250 persons and which
have an annual turnover not exceeding 50 million euro, and/or an annual balance sheet total not
exceeding 43 million euro.“
A large enterprise is an enterprise that checks at least one of the following two conditions: - has at
least 5000 employees; - has an annual turnover greater than 1.5 billion euros and a balance sheet
