Evolution & Future Of Artificial Intelligence

  1. 1. Evolution & Future Of Artificial Intelligence
  2. 2. Technical Seminar Presented To: Presented By: Dr. Prateek Bhanti Aishwarya Bhardwaj Mr. Vinay Verma
  3. 3. What is HUMAN INTELLIGENCE? 3 LEARNING REASONING PERCEIVING
  4. 4. What is HUMAN INTELLIGENCE? 4 UNDERSTANDING OF LANGUAGE FEELINGS
  5. 5. WHAT IS AI? Artificial intelligence (AI) refers to simulation of human intelligence in machines that are programmed to think like humans & mimic their actions.
  6. 6. 6 STRONG AI Strong AI- the machines can actually think and carry out tasks on their own, just like humans do. WEAK AI Weak AI- the machines cannot do task on their own and rely heavily on human interference.
  7. 7. STRONG AI is currently the stuff of science fiction, although there are many that believe that machines will indeed be capable of real thought at some point in the future.

  11. 11. Artificial intelligence (AI) can have a major impact on the way modern societies respond to the hard challenges they face. Properly harnessed, AI can create a more fair, healthy, and inclusive society. Today, AI has become a mature technology and an increasingly important part of the modern life. AI is already deployed in different application domains, e.g. recommendation systems, spam filters, image recognition, voice recognition, virtual assistants, etc.
  12. 12. It spans across many sectors, from medicine to transportation, and across decades, since the term was introduced in the 1950s. The approaches also evolved, from the foundational AI algorithms of the 1950s, to the paradigm shift in symbolic algorithms and expert system development in the 1970s, the introduction of machine learning in the 1990s and the deep learning algorithms of the 2010s. Starting with the fundamental definitions and building on the historical context, the evolution of AI introduces the “seasons” of AI development (i.e. winters for the decline and springs for the growth).

  14. 14. Future of AI 14
  15. 15. 15 From SIRI to self-driving cars, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is progressing rapidly. The momentum behind AI is building, thanks in part to the massive amounts of data that computers can gather about our likes, our purchases and our movements every day. And specialists in artificial intelligence research use all that data to train machines how to learn and predict what we want—or detest.
  16. 16. Artificial intelligence today is properly known as narrow AI (or weak AI), in that it is designed to perform a narrow task (e.g. only facial recognition or only internet searches or only driving a car, embedded in your GPS systems and Amazon recommendations). However, the long-term goal of many researchers is to create general AI (AGI or strong AI). While narrow AI may outperform humans at whatever its specific task is, like playing chess or solving equations, AGI a self-teaching system would outperform humans at nearly every cognitive task.

  18. 18. AI in Education ● AI can automate grading so that the tutor can have more time to teach. AI chatbot can communicate with students as a teaching assistant. ● Textbooks are digitized with the help of AI, early-stage virtual tutors assist human instructors and facial analysis gauges the emotions of students to help determine who’s struggling or bored and better tailor the experience to their individual needs.

  20. 20. AI in E-commerce AI is providing a competitive edge to the e-commerce industry, and it is becoming more demanding in the e-commerce business. AI is helping shoppers to discover associated products with recommended size, color, or even brand.
  21. 21. AI in E-commerce
  22. 22. AI in Agriculture Agriculture is an area which requires various resources, labor, money, and time for best result. Now a day's agriculture is becoming digital, and AI is emerging in this field. Agriculture is applying AI as agriculture robotics, solid and crop monitoring, predictive analysis. AI in agriculture can be very helpful for farmers.
  23. 23. AI in Agriculture Autonomous Drones will be used in agriculture.
  24. 24. AI in Entertainment We are currently using some AI based applications in our daily life with some entertainment services such as Netflix or Amazon. With the help of ML/AI algorithms, these services show the recommendations for programs or shows.
  25. 25. AI in Entertainment Netflix-Shuffle Play Feature
  26. 26. AI in Robotics ● Artificial Intelligence has a remarkable role in Robotics. Usually, general robots are programmed such that they can perform some repetitive task, but with the help of AI, we can create intelligent robots which can perform tasks with their own experiences without pre-programmed. ● Humanoid Robots are best examples for AI in robotics, recently the intelligent Humanoid robot named as Erica and Sophia has been developed which can talk and behave like humans.
  27. 27. AI in Robotics Assembly line of Mercedes Benz
  28. 28. AI in Automotive Industry ● Some Automotive industries are using AI to provide virtual assistant to their user for better performance. Such as Tesla has introduced TeslaBot, an intelligent virtual assistant. ● Various Industries are currently working for developing self- driven cars which can make your journey more safe and secure.
  29. 29. AI in Automotive Industry Self Driving Cars
