2. I have extensively used computer structural software such as STAAD III, STAAD Pro, STRAAD, Foundation3D, Mat3D,
SAFE, RISA-3D, Risa Foundation, and Syspipe & Supipe, Microsoft Office programs. I extensively use MathCAD and Excel
in creating and using my own programs. I am confident that I can easily adapt to other programs when necessary.
CODES AND STANDARDS EXPERIENCE
I have used various international Codes such as AISC, ACI, UBC, ASCE, ASTM, AWS, AWWA, API, EIA, (American
Codes), RCCM (French Code Rules for Construction of Nuclear Power Plants), National Structural Code of the Philippines
(NSCP), Japan Industrial Standards, and industry-accepted PIP Standards. I can easily adapt to any standards or Project
Specifications.
I worked in the Philippines for several years, about a year in China [on one nuclear power plant], five years in Saudi Arabia

Prepared engineering calculations and sketches of major structures such as office building, substation buildings, control
building, truck shelters, etc., pipe racks and pipe bridges, miscellaneous structures such as pipe supports, electrical supports,
and their foundations. Prepared calculations and sketches of foundations of refinery equipment such as horizontal vessels and
heat exchangers, vertical vessels, stack, steam boilers, overhead condensers, feed chillers, storage drums, tanks and pumps.
Other items done were cable pits, trenches, duct banks, and road culverts. Prepared bar bending schedules, material and cost
estimates.
As Senior Engineer, I ensured that my works, as well as those of my colleagues were executed in a professional and timely
manner, satisfied project specifications and guidelines as well as the latest applicable industry standards, finished within the
budgeted man-hours, and passed our quality guidelines.
In all the projects mentioned above, I worked as Lead Structural Engineer. Performed interdisciplinary coordination and
squad checking with process, instrumentation, piping, mechanical and electrical engineers. Did the planning, scheduling and
implementation of civil/ structural works for those projects. Reported progress and status of deliverables to the Project
Manager on a weekly or as-needed basis. Analyzed problems and provided solutions to difficulties encountered in the project.
Convened and discussed with the Client representative on a regular basis for alignment and smooth execution and satisfactory
completion of projects. Prepared reports, technical queries, holds lists, engineering change notices, etc. Checked and signed
drawings, calculations and related documents, prior to submission to the Client. In some projects, I prepared Construction
Scope of Work and Specifications.
I participated in the acquisition of several projects for our company. I provided needed data in project proposals such as list of
deliverables, man-hour and manpower estimates, and discussed with the project management team about logical sequencing
of structural and civil activities.

constituted a major work in this project. Participated in making solutions to interference problems encountered at the site.
Also prepared preliminary structural calculations and sketches of one Process Interface Building (PIB), which was a blast

While designated as a “designer”, I was given the task of an engineer, based on my ability and confidence of our discipline
head. Prepared calculations and sketches of structures, buildings and foundations, and oily water concrete sumps. Prepared
material estimates. Backchecked drawings to ensure that engineering sketches were correctly put into electronic drawings.
Checked sizes of concrete items; sizes, details and quantities of reinforcing bars, including splices and embedments; anchor
bolt type, length and projections. Checked structural steel sizes and orientations; bracing and configurations, and connections
to assure integrity of design. Followed project guidelines, and applicable international standards. Utilized RISA-2D computer
software, aside from manual calculations, in executing work.

Note: The term“Calculator” was used in this project to refer to a member of the team who performed engineering
such as Pipe Stress analysis, and structural support calculations.
Project: Guangdong Nuclear Power Station (located in Daya Bay, Guangdong, Peoples Republic of China)
Prepared pipe stress analyses of small-bore lines and structural engineering of supports for loads due to gravity temperature,
pressure, seismic, rupture, building displacement, creep, etc., and to conform to their required functions, and safety
requirements considering stress and rigidity ratios per RCCM Code requirements. Verified structural integrity of field-
proposed modifications to original design against the same Code; utilized SYSPIPE and SUPIPE computer programs, aside
from manual calculations, in the execution of work. I also checked the works of other calculators to ensure accuracy and
compliance to Code requirements.
