  12. 12. Deal or No Deal LET’S PLAY
  13. 13. In the previous lesson, you learned that there are eight planets in our solar system that revolve around the sun. Now, let us try to do a simple activity to help freshen up your mind. Ready?
  14. 14. SABIHIN Directions: Write DEAL if the statement is correct and NO DEAL if it is incorrect.
  15. 15. VERY GOOD! The answer is…. What is the answer? 1. I am between Earth and Saturn, but I am not Mars. I am JUPITER DEAL or NO DEAL?

  36. 36. Let us check what is written in Dora’s map. Do you want to sing a song? Come and join us!
  37. 37. Come and join us as we sing the song. Remember to watch the video carefully. I will ask questions after the song.
  38. 38. Are you ready for our next mission? Let’s go! Very Good! YES, WE ARE!
  39. 39. Let us check what is written in Dora’s map. Let us talk about EARTH!
  40. 40. Earth is the only planet in our Solar System that can sustain life. Earth is known as the “blue planet.” Do you know why? It is because this planet looks blue as seen from the outer space.
  41. 41. Earth, our home, is the third planet from the sun. It is the only planet known to have an atmosphere containing free oxygen, oceans of water on its surface, and, of course, life. Earth is the fifth largest of the planets in the Solar System. It is smaller than the four gas giants — Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune — but larger than the three other rocky planets, Mercury, Mars, and Venus.
  42. 42. Are you ready for our next mission? Let’s go! Very Good! YES, WE ARE!
  43. 43. Let us check what is written in Dora’s map. Let’s answer the questions!
  44. 44. 1. Why is earth called the “Blue Planet”? 2. How will you describe the Earth? 3. What have humans done to the earth? How do they destroy the nature?
  45. 45. 4. In this time of pandemic, there are so many problems that the people are facing, but can you do something to save Mother Earth?
  46. 46. Are you ready for our next mission? Let’s go! Very Good! YES, WE ARE!
  47. 47. Let us check what is written in Dora’s map. Let’s play word search
  48. 48. SABIHIN All the words listed below revolve around the sun. Find the words in the word search grid. The direction of the words can be up, down, to the left, to the right or diagonal.
  49. 49. Let us check what is written in Dora’s map. Let’s play “WHAT’S THE MISSING LETTERS?”
  50. 50. Our very own planet is one of the members of the solar system. We must understand our neighboring planets in the solar system.
  51. 51. The s__lar syst__m is composed of the Sun and the eight planets, such as Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. These planets are classified as inner planets and outer planets. o e
  52. 52. Each of the planets has different characteristics. They differ in their distance from the Sun, size, temperature, and composition. Some planets are rocky and small and do not have rings. Other planets are gaseous and have rings. They even differ in color, as seen on Earth.
  53. 53. What are the components of the solar system? The solar system is composed of the S__n and all the objects that travel around it. The Sun is orbited by planets and their moons, asteroids, comets and other heavenly bodies. u
  54. 54. What are the eight planets in the solar system? The eight planets in the solar system are M__rcury, V__nus, __arth, M__rs, Jupit__r, S__turn, Ur__nus and Neptun__. e a a e a E e e
  55. 55. What are the inner planets? The first four planets, Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars are called t__rrestrial or inner planets. They are solid and are mostly made up of rocks and metal; they do not have rings. These are the planets closer to the Sun. Among the four terrestrial planets Earth has one moon, Mars has two moons, Mercury and Venus has none. The terrestrial planets have common features such as mountains and volcanoes. e
  56. 56. What are the outer planets? The last four planets Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune are outer or Jovi__n planets. They are called gas giants. These gas giants are so-called because they are much larger than other planets and are mostly made up of gas. They are set-apart from the terrestrial planets by the asteroid belt. All of these gas giants have rings and moons. Of the four gas giants Saturn has the most prominent ring. a
  57. 57. What are the compositions of the planets? The terrestrial or inner planets have solid surfaces. These planets are small and mostly made up of r_ck and m__tal. They have silicate mantle surrounding a metallic core composed mostly of iron. o e
  58. 58. The Jovian or outer planets are made up of hydrogen and helium and they have small rocky core. Aside from being called gas giants, Uranus and Neptune are also called ice giants. The ice giants have interior composition of compounds like water, methane and ammonia.
  59. 59. Let us check what is written in Dora’s map. Let’s play “LET’S IDENTIFY”
  60. 60. Directions: Identify the planets.
  61. 61. Let us check what is written in Dora’s map. Let’s play “LET’S ANSWER”
  62. 62. Directions: Answer the following questions. 1. Which are the inner planets? 2. Which are the outer planets? 3. Which planet is closest to the Sun? 4. Which two planets are almost of the same size? 5. Compare the temperature of Saturn and Uranus. Which of the two is colder?
  63. 63. Are you ready for our next mission? Let’s go! Very Good! YES, WE ARE!
