ā¢ Technology is incredibly important in helping students cultivate their
creative writing potential. It aides them in increasing their
vocabulary, preparing the planning of their writing, collaborating
with peers, and sharing their finished work. Technology allows
students to work together, peer-edit, and publish their works of
writing in a creative and non-conventional way.
ā¢ In this presentation, we will learn how students can benefit from
incorporating technology into learning about different styles of
writing ā especially creative writing. There are many different means
in which teachers can integrate blogs, videos, smart board activities,
and websites that incorporate creative writing tools.

ā¢ There are many benefits to adding technology into teaching subjects
for students, which will be seen within this presentation. Students
are able to view the teaching topic through many different
platforms, and on a level that they are able to relate to.
ā¢ Students can participate in interactive games, collaborate on their
writing pieces, and be able to write and illustrate their own pieces
into a final draft with many different technological tools presented in
this PowerPoint.
ā¢ The 21st century incorporates technology into many different areas
of these studentsā lives ā so it makes sense that teaching creative
writing should be no different, and find ways to incorporate
technology into the lessons as well.

This is called Book Creator for iPad,
and is one of the top rated creative
writing apps I have found. This app
allows students to create their own
iBooks ā which means they are able to
share their pieces to teachers, peers,
and parents. They can add music,
narration, videos and illustrations to

They have since updated this app, which isnāt
noted on the website, but it is now free and
works with not only an iPad, but an iPod/iPhone,
and other smart phones, as well.

This gives students a visual time
span so they know how long
they have to write, they know
what they should look like,
sound like, and feel like while
writing, with reminders to keep
writing!

I would use this website within my classroom to support my topic of
writing with the many tools and teaching opportunities that this resource
for teachers and students. This website gives many teacher-friendly
such as lesson plans and subject-specified units, as well as student
activities and iPad/tablet apps to assist students with their learning. This
website gives professional development opportunities as well as parental
after-school support for students who need extra help in this area of subject
matter. This resource gives many different activities that are differentiated
grade-level in order to teach creative writing to many different age ranges.

ā¢ Scholastic gives teachers many different resources and lesson plans
in order to aide them in the creative writing teaching process. It
breaks each lesson plan into grade-level and subject-level in order
for teachers to differentiate their lessons.
ā¢ An additional website, CreativeWritingTeaching Ideas gives
teachers so many fun and interactive ways to incorporate creative
writing into their curriculum. These prompts and story ideas give
teachers and students an exciting way in which they can use their
imagination when coming up with creative writing stories.

Weaver Deluxe, is a software that
allows students to participate in
their own creative writing with use
