In March 2017, in celebration of National Nutrition
Month and our 1-year anniversary of the We Hear RDs
kits, Produce for Kids held a display contest
encouraging in-store RDs to show us how they are
using the materials they receive in the kits.

โWhenever I arrive to work and I see a We Heart RDs box for me at the service desk I know it will be
a great day! I absolutely love the materials from Produce for Kids! I use the kitchen tools in my
sales floor recipe demos or as fun giveaways for shoppers, the brochures and recipes on my demo
table as giveaways, and the "What's in Seasonโ counter cards make excellent bulletin board
additions. For the first full week of April I put together demo content that all Hannaford dietitians
will be using across ME, NH, VT, MA, and NY locations and I selected several of the Produce For
Kids handouts to be included in our in store events. Thanks again for all that you do to support
retail dietitians in encouraging fruit and vegetable consumption!โ

invaluable to the success of our programs
here at Reasorโs! For example, at our Apple
Pop-up Event, customers were able to sample
different varieties of apples, get coloring
sheets, and recipe brochures.โ

โAt our Child Nutrition Ask the RD Event, we hosted an in-store booth focused on child
nutrition and passed out recipes, coloring sheets, samples, and coupons. The stickers are
by far one of the favorites in every box to hand out to the kiddos in the store!โ

fruit, and gave away reusable water

โI love receiving the We Heart RDs kit
each month!
I offer monthly kids cooking classes and I
use these kits as my inspiration for my
classes. We discuss which
fruits/vegetables are in season and then
make recipes with a highlighted fruit
and/or vegetable. I let then touch, smell,
taste and see the fruits and/or vegetables
that I am highlighting each class. I also
use this information when I go to schools
and discuss fruits and vegetables.
For March, the dietitian's pick of the
month was avocados. I used recipes and
tools from the Produce for Kids kit in my
avocado display. I also used items from
the kit during my on-floor demos
throughout the month.โ

โI created an avocado booth displaying the awesome
Avocados From Mexico resources provided in the We Heart
RDs boxes. I sampled a locally made whole grain bread to
explain to customers how toasted bread can be a delicious
way to include avocado into their diets, so the avocado toast
recipe card tied in perfectly to the theme. Thank you for
providing these great resources for us retail RDs!

โ18 individuals participated in Reasorโs 4th Annual Weight Loss Challenge. Each participant received
a swag bag filled with goodies including recipes and utensils from Produce for Kidsโ We Heart RDs
boxes. Your utensils and recipes made such a difference to our participants; we used several of
them during our Healthy Cooking & Meal Prep and Planning classes. Participants were very excited
about all the great recipes Produce for Kids offered to help them cook fruits and veggies in new,
flavor ways. We want to thank Produce for Kids so very much for helping us bring this program to our
community. Your products and materials made a difference!โ
