Experience
Academic/Administrative Intern, Collegiate School of Memphis-Memphis, TN October 2015- Present
 Providing academic support to the Collegiate School of Memphis by means of conducting the daily
homework checking process and substituting for absent teachers.
 Providing Administrative support in various ways such as assisting with daily attendance, running
the front desk, running school errands, responding to questions from parents and the community,
assisting with the set up and execution of school events, scheduling parent/ teacher conferences,
etc.
 Assisting the Dean of Admissions and Enrollments with the student application process, admission
testing, etc.
Paraprofessional, Boy Scouts of America- Memphis, TN August 2015-October 2015
 Worked with the Emerging Markets Marking and Development coordinator to solicit contributions
and in kind support for the first “Scout-a-bration”, a free event that the Chickasaw Council
partnered with Streets Ministries which showcased various organizations from the surrounding
area.
 Prepared for and led Cub Scout meetings in the Emerging Markets service area, which worked with
youth in underserving areas. Each meeting providing the youth with the necessary skills for
advancement in the scouting ranks. Recruited parent volunteers to help with meetings and
activities.
Youth Specialist, City of Memphis MPloy Program-Memphis, TN June 2015-August 2015
 Managed a caseload of students employed at several different locations around Memphis by acting
as a liaison between student participants, business partners and the MPloy program. Picked up
timesheets from participants’ worksites, ensured timesheets were signed by both the participants
and the worksite supervisor, and input the student’s worked hours into the Oracle system.
Performed site visits to check on the welfare of students and the satisfaction of worksite
supervisors, communicated via email and phone calls with the students on program updates, event
locations and other information as needed.
City of Memphis AmeriCorps VISTA Leader-Memphis, TN May 2014-June 2015
 Managed Social Media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest) accounts for the City of
Memphis VISTA Program. Over a one month time period, increased the Facebook page to 215 likes
and increased Twitter followers to 146.

 Created a media contact list in support of the Memphis VISTA Program’s communications strategy
to aid with distribution of recruitment and event announcements, the program’s e-newsletter, and
other program updates for the general public.
 Published the April and May Newsletters: Edited and proofread the stories, wrote some of the
stories, organized the content, and managed the layout. Electronically delivered them to program
participants and partners.
AmeriCorps VISTA, City of Memphis-Memphis, TN May 2014-May 2015
 As the Anti-Youth Violence Coordinator, facilitated and organized meetings for the Youth Anti-
Violence group, made up of Shelby County, City of Memphis and federal employees coordinating
and collaborating to reduce youth violence.
 Worked with a researcher from the American Institutes of Research to provide technical assistance
and identify gaps and overlaps between existing efforts in youth violence prevention around the City
of Memphis.
 Created a participant and mentor recruitment plan for the LIFE (Literacy is Free Expression) Literacy
Program, another City of Memphis VISTA program site.
UM College Corps–University, MS August 2011-December 2013
 Completed over 700 hours of community service with the program over the course of the 2 years as
a College Corps Member.
 Supervised and managed participant data for the Dolly Parton Imagination Library on behalf of the
Lafayette County Literacy Council. Input participant address information, verified mailing addresses
were Lafayette County addresses, updated information and registered new participants.
 Volunteered at the Boys and Girls Club as a Tutor and Mentor for small groups of 6-7 year olds, as
well as 8-9 year old girls. Provided any kind of homework help needed, and tutored primarily in
reading comprehension.
United Way-Oxford, MS May 2013 – July 2013
 Completed 120 hours as an Intern with the United Way in Oxford MS as a part of the Religious
Studies Department at the University of Mississippi. Worked with the research and development of
the Community Solutions Action Plan for the Grade Level Reading Coalition, an initiative to increase
the number of children in the Oxford community reading at grade level by the end of third grade.
Organized and facilitated meetings for the coalition and took inventory for the fall 2013 campaign
supplies.
AmeriCorps Summer Vista Associate June 2012-July 2012
 Served as a youth developer at the Boys and Girls club in Oxford MS for 40 hours a week for 6 weeks
during the summer. Supervised twenty to thirty 8-9 year old girls throughout the day; instructed
activities such as arts and crafts, games, and a variety of other group activities.
