2. My Decision
• The school I want to attend is the University of
Southern California.
• I want to attend this school because it’s a nice
and well educated school.
• USC is a private school.
• I want to become a pediatrician.
• In order to become a pediatrician I have to
major in math and science.
3. Information
• USC truly is the University of the 21st Century.
• They offer more academic opportunities than any
university in the U.S with 150 majors and 130 minors.
• Applications for undergraduates is optional.
• When the student get accepted they focus on their
grades, standardized test scores, activity summary,
essay, short answers and counselor/teacher
recommendations.
• USC was found near the 1880’s
• It is the oldest private research university
4. Mascot
• Traveler,the white horse that appears at all
USC home football games with a regal Trojan
warrior riding it, is one of the most famous
college mascots.
• Traveler first made an appearance at USC
football games in 1961.
6. Admission to USC
• A transfer student should concentrate on
transferable courses because they build on
the high school records.
• You are expected to have at least an A‐/B+ on
transferable work.
• USC defines a transfer student as anyone who
has attended college since finishing high
school.
8. History of USC
• When USC opened in 1880, tuition was $15.00
per term.
• The school had an enrollment of 53 students
and a faculty of 10.
• Its first graduating class in 1884 was a class of
three, two males and a female.
• USC's nickname is the Trojans they got the
nickname from a statue of Tommy Trojan, it
was near the center of campus.

11. Athletics
• USC athletics participates in the NCAA Division
l‐A Pacific Ten Conference and has won 109
total team national championships.
• The women have won 22, all since 1976.
• Since 1912, USC is the only university in the
world to have a gold medal‐winning athlete in
every summer Olympiad.
• USC claims 11 football championship.
12. Greek life
• The Greek community is approximately a fifth
of the student body.
• They have had a long influential history on the
campus.
• It is on Figueroa Street and Hoover Street
north of campus.
• USC’s Greek system began soon after the
school’s founding in the 1880’s.
13. Spirit Groups
• The spirit teams was founded in 1969.
• The USC Song Girls appear at all football,
basketball, and volleyball games they also appear
at rallies, university and alumni functions.
• Unlike other college cheer teams, Song Girls are a
dance squad and they do not perform
gymnastics, stunts or lead cheers.
• The sweater‐clad team consisted of all men, the
squad later opened itself up to applicants from
both sexes and did feature one female Yell
Leader in 1998.
14. Daily Trojan
• The Daily Trojan has been the student
newspaper since 1912.
• The Daily Trojan is a primary source of news
and information for the campus.
• It secured the first interview of President
Richard Nixon after his resignation.
• In spring,fall,and winter its called The Daily
Trojan but on summer it turns into the
summer trojan.
15. El Rodeo
• El Rodeo is USC’s yearbook.
• It’s one of the oldest traditions.
• The first edition was released in 1889
• The name was changed in 1899.
• The name was changed to The Sybil.
