DIFFERENT AREAS
OF PAKISTAN
Traditional Lacha kurta
This is a dress wore by both men and women in many
cities of Punjab.
It is called Lacha kurta.
Lacha is long flared skirt which is matched with a kurta.
The dress is also in complete without accessories.
Women of Punjab accessories it with paranda specially.
Bangles and other items.
Paranda
Paranda is widely used accessory for hairs in Pakistan.
Paranda was initially worn by the women when they didn't have many accessories to
decorate their hair with.
In ancient times when fashion was about simplicity and soberness, the women used to
weave multicolored threads together and tie it in their hair that it looks pretty and
appear longer.
Now it is used as both traditional and fashion symbol in different cities of Punjab and
KPK.
Multani Khussa
Khussa, is a style of South Asian handcrafted footwear
produced in Punjab Pakistan. Khussa are made by
artisans mostly using vegetable-tanned leather.The
uppers are made of one piece of leather or textile
embroidered and embellished with brass nails, cowry
shells, mirrors, bells and ceramic beads.
Cholistan dressing style
The people of Cholistan are fond of jewelry, especially gold
jewelry.The chief ornaments made and worn by them
are Nath (nose gay), Katmala (necklace) Kangan (bracelet),
and Pazeb (anklets). Gold and silver bangles are also a
product of Cholistan.The locals similarly work in enamel,
producing enamel buttons, earrings, bangles, and rings.
Turbans wear by Pakistani People
There are many turban styles followed by many
people in Pakistan.
Punjabi, Sindhi, Balochi and KPK styles are given in
the pictures.

Gilgitbaltistan
Men's Dress
Male members of Gilgit Baltistan wear different stuff of woollen caps they
consider it as an honour for them.
Men usually wear:
• Woollen hat
• Shalwar kameez
• Woollen robe with long or short sleeve
Women's Dress
The most elegant part of women's dress is the traditional cap.Various
types of caps are used.The most popular cap is the beautiful embroidered
Iraghi cap with the traditional piece of the jewel called silsila. Many other
types of caps are used in various regions.[1]
The customs of wearing caps is also common in Gilgit Baltistan, especially
during events like bridal makeup. Women usually wear:
• Iraghi cap
• Loose shalwar kameez
• Colorful frock

Ajrakh and the Sindhi cap
Ajrakh is a famous dress wore in many areas of Sindh
Pakistan. Ajrakh is a unique form of block printing found in
Sindh, Pakistan; Kutch, Gujarat; and Barmer, Rajasthan in
India.These shawls display special designs and patterns
made using block printing by stamps. Over the years, ajraks
have become a symbol of the Sindhi culture and
traditions.Ajrak print is also famous in neighboring areas of
India in the states of Rajasthan and Gujarat.
Along with Ajrakh Sindh is also famous for its special kind of
cap accessories with mirror work known as sindhi topi.
Dressing of Chitral and Kilash In Chitral, the men traditionally wear mid-calf-
length straight-legged loose woollen trousers
which are supplemented by woollen leggings in
winter.This links the region to the Nuristani region
in adjoiningAfghanistan to its west where men
traditionally wore white woollen trousers reaching
to just below the knees, supplemented by black
tight leggings, covered by a long tunic tied at the
waist. Men of Chitral also wear loose shirts and
woollen waistcoats or coats and the Chitrali cap
with a sprig of juniper tucked into its brim.
The women wear very loose shalwars. Women's
dresses are made with eight to ten yards of black
cotton cloth, which is heavily embroidered around
the neck, sleeves and bottom with skeins of yarn. A
thick woollen or yarn belt is tied three or four times
around the waist.Women wear beads around the
neck.The headdress consists of two parts, the
smaller susutr (woven woollen circle) which rest at
the back of the head and has a long run down the
back.The larger item is the kapas which rests
above the susutr.Where the susutr is worn at all
times, the kapas, which is highly decorated is worn
on special occasions, or when visiting other valleys.

Styles
KashmiriTraditional Wear A traditional kurta and
salwar for men, actually called the Khan Dress.
it is famous as a pathani. Women wear Salwar-
Kameez donned with a pheran.The hair of women
is usually covered with a head scarf.

A thick woollen or yarn belt is tied three or four times around the waist.Women wear beads around the neck.The headdress consists of two parts, the smaller susutr (woven woollen circle) which rest at the back of the head and has a long run down the back.The larger item is the kapas which rests above the susutr.Where the susutr is worn at all times, the kapas, which is highly decorated is worn on special occasions, or when visiting other valleys.
