THE QUEST FOR LEARNING
1. Is that true those who don’t share their feelings to others openly care the
most?
Good question.
The answer is - False. Everyone has a different personality and therefore a
different manner of expressing love and care.
Every one shares their feelings of love, care and empathy in their own natural
style.
A mother shares love and care to her children by words as well as actions.
A father shares love and care to his children more often through actions.
A friend or sibling trying to cheer you up shares love and care through his
funny antics.
Etc.
Sometimes it depends upon the situation as well. For example, celebrations,
condolences, health issue, all demand a different approach to express love and
care. That's where 'maturity' comes in.
This is what learning and emotional intelligence is all about.
To conclude, love and care is best expressed in the manner which our
heart/conscience/inner voice (our first, spontaneous, natural response)
recommends (we should precisely say or do the same, without thinking or
fearing whether it will be right or wrong. If we face a doubt, we can always
express our feeling as a question). We should just go actively with the flow
without thinking about our manner of expression and should have strong self-
belief in our external personality, while remaining open and humble enough to
admit inadvertent mistakes, if any, and seeking ways to improve upon them.
To err and learn is human. To live and embrace every moment to the fullest is
also human. Both the aspects need to go in tandem. Hope this clears the
picture :)
2. How I can change myself without saying that the world should change?
When you change yourself, the world automatically changes for you.
The best way to change your self is to change gradually by learning.
Therefore, get into the habit of learning at least one new thing every day.
3. Which are some biology-related career courses other than medical?
Here are a few:
1. Bio-Technology
2. Ecology
3. Wildlife conservation expert
4. Marine-life conservation expert
5. Environmental Science
6. Floral expert
7. Bonsai expert
8. Nature Traveller/Blogger
9. Agricultural Scientist
10. Fishery expert
4. What should I do when I feel depressed?
If you feel depressed often, try to sense or introspect what it is that is causing
frequent depression.
It could be a need of yours that is not being fulfilled, an environment where
your personal space is not being respected, or some other reason is also
possible.
Try to be happy and stay productive in what you love to do. I am assuming you
love to travel out and meeting new people. Do that more often. Read some
good books and articles and write your deep feelings out on a daily basis.
Also understand that life is not meant to be taken seriously. Life is never fair,
so it's best to laugh it off :)
5. How do I talk comfortably to girls without getting screwed up or boned
up?
Try to be open, genuine and upfront.
Also remember that you never ever need to impress anyone. It's an exercise
always resulting into futility. You never need to talk to a girl just for the sake of
talking to a girl. Acknowledge the fact that girls are as humane as boys are.
The next time you talk to a girl, be composed and relaxed, SMILE, maintain a
healthy EYE CONTACT and then talk. Also, try to be positive, cordial and
professional in your body language.
Don't leave either your smile or your eye contact till the end of conversation at
any cost. Listen keenly and respond confidently. I am sure the conversations
will result in WIN-WIN situation.
6. I am 24 and unmarried, working in an MNC company. Can I adopt a less
than 1 year old male child?
I don't know what the law says about this, my friend. However, please do
accept my compliments for taking the first step towards a socially responsible
behaviour! Very few at your age, myself excluded, have even bothered to think
in this direction.
Had I been in your place, I would have done what my heart would have told
me to do - Yes, please do it!
Though it takes sheer courage for a 24-year old working young man to adopt
and raise an infant, I would say go for it (as long as your family is ready to
support you), keeping in mind the fact that raising the kid is going to be a lot
demanding and challenging, but would always be more than worth the effort.
His smile would refill you with renewed energy and vigour every evening you
return from office. In fact, he would become the very reason for you to rush
back home every day!
Some considerations for the baby's well-being:
1. The baby would need love. If you are working in office, you must have a
family to take care of the baby, especially someone who can provide motherly
love and care to the kid, at least in your absence.
2. The baby's diet, safety, learning, play, nurturing and growing up would
definitely need a specialist mother to take care of all his needs. Babies demand
a lot of time and be ready to give the same to the baby along with all your
family members.
3. Your baby could sometimes accompany you to office (some organizations do
allow that, however you would need to check beforehand) :)
Keep me informed, friend!
7. How do I make excellent notes (just tell me stepwise or by giving me an
example of English honours course)?
I am not an expert in making notes, but from what I know, a personalized
approach that suits your style of learning is the best to make individual notes.
In my opinion, notes must be crisp and short. They should be able to skim out
the salient points of the lesson and should be handy enough to give those
broad points that together form the dots, which when joined, give the macro
picture of the topic/lesson.
To conclude, the lesser the better. The simpler the better.
8. I am a 4-pointer IIT B.Tech graduate. I am on medication for depression
and on the verge of giving up. How do I get a job using my degree?
You are a similar case as me, my friend :)
I too am on medication for extreme depression for the past 6 years and have
been on the verge of giving up multiple times.
I earn a paltry salary and have failed in more than 1000 interviews in my
lifetime (That also means I broke Thomas Edison's records of 1000 failures
before he invented electric bulb).
I am hanging on to my writing job with both hands and enjoy the work, the
people and the environment. I consider my current job a gift and express
gratitude everyday for the fact that I am still alive and happily bubbling with
energy :)
My 2 cents for you - Life is very, very, very simple. Life just means to be happy,
love yourself infinitely (and only after that, others) and stay productive in what
you do (no matter what the activity is, only that you must love to do it).
You never need to prove a point to anyone in life but yourself. So, job or no
job, just chill :)
Yes, it's a bitter truth that life is never fair and people such as we are
experiencing this truth at a somewhat early stage of life.
But there lies the blessing in disguise - you are a lot wiser than the others
around you, because your experience has been unique and that is what is one
of your biggest strength - YOU ARE DIFFERENT.
Assess whether you really feel like doing a job right now, or would like to
spend some time in solitude and with family, trying to be happier, may be
writing a book if you feel like, before you set out to grab a job.
As and when, I would also suggest you to share your medical history and
treatment details with your prospective employers during interview stage
itself.
What keeps me going is the quest to learn continuously and stay happy in the
small, little, simple things of life that are given to us to be valued as precious
gifts.
Depression can snatch away your personality, soft skills, confidence, grit, self-
esteem and what not, but it can NEVER snatch away your 1) Talent 2) Skill 3)
Courage. Depression is nothing but a mistake which makes us more human and
gives so huge an opportunity to learn that we can't thank everyone and
ourselves enough for it.
Take one step at a time, buddy. Relax, keep cool, keep calm and just do your
best and leave the rest. Result is something which is never in our control, so no
point getting anxious over whether or not you will get the profile and the
package you deserve. Just keep moving, one step at a time, and try to enjoy
this journey of life to the fullest.
Keep in touch and message me on quora in case and whenever you feel like. I
am there for you :)
9. How do I become a self motivated person?
Do what makes you happy and learn at least one new thing every day.
Stay productive in whatever you do. It means do your task 100% (including
when you sleep/take rest). Else, if you don't feel like doing that work or being
in that situation, be 0% involved in it.
Stay more often with people who love you unconditionally and who are more
learned than you.
Help at least one needy person every day. Volunteer in some social activity or
health activity if possible.
10. I'm 20 years old girl, who loves to act/sing/dance. I want to inspire
people, but I often feel I don't have it in me. There are so many you-
tubers, actors and singers who work so hard yet they are not where they
deserve to be. So many people who follow their passion don't get enough
success, which makes me doubt my own ability and future. The field of
entertainment is so competitive and there are already millions who want
to be in it.
Are there rooms for beginners? How do I stop fearing?
I don't want to give up my dreams. But the fact that only a few reach the
top scares me.
I don't want to be good, I want to be GREAT.
Am I aiming too high? Why do I feel I'll never be able to make it large in
life?
You have to inspire and motivate yourself before you can think of doing that to
others. This is because to love others we need to love ourselves first and stay
happy always. No need to prove a point to anyone in life but yourself.
And results are something that are never guaranteed and are never in our
hands. We can only do happily what we love to do. We can try our level best to
try and enjoy what we love to do, but that's where our limits end.
Life is never fair, the earlier you learn and accept this lesson, the happier you
will stay.
11. Is it wrong to dream something beyond your capabilities?
Not at all!
Just make sure you convert your dream to a goal by making it S.M.A.R.T -
Simple, Measurable, Actionable, Realistic and Time bound.
You might see yourself on the top of Mount Everest in your dream, and so you
would need to write your dream, daily and repeatedly on a piece of paper,
specifying within how much time you see yourself up there, what will be your
modus operandi and what is the level of physical fitness and mental agility you
would need, etc.
12. I'm badly troubled in my life after getting kicked out of college for
bunking repeatedly as I was caught and now my parents & teachers have
told me to stop going to college and do whatever I want :(
Reason: I bunked college for my blogging. I do overnight blogging and
don’t have a proper sleep for days together. So when I go to college I
would sleep during lectures and the lecturers would scold me badly. I
started bunking, got caught and now got the freedom to do blogging. But
it seems like my studies have got spoiled. Also, presently I'm in a very bad
situation as my internet balance is going to end. I don’t have money in
pocket to pay so that I can continue to blog.
:( Please let know what I should do now!
You love blogging, that's great to know!
You bunked college so much to pursue your passion, that's even greater to
know.
What it is that you have potential to blog about in the near future, I'm thrilled
to the core to imagine!
Do you realize my friend, whose lines are you living your life on?
Let me tell you. It's:
1. Bill Gates, Founder of Microsoft Inc.
2. Steve Jobs, Founder of Apple Inc.
Both of them pretty much did what you have done, and for precisely the same
reason - to pursue in blind faith and love what they really, really loved to do.
Consider yourself fortunate, my friend, that you know you want to become the
best blogger ever, for almost everyone don't even get to know all their lives
who is it that they want to become.
So, please consider this opportunity as a blessing in disguise and make the
most out of it. For example, start writing blogs as a professional and get paid
for it.
Some world famous blogs for you to get started:
The Best Travel Guide and Magazine
Condé Nast Traveller India | Travel Ideas, Vacation, Holidays, News, Deals, City
Guides, India, Luxury Travel, Premium Destinations
All the best!
13. I am 17. I don't cry on someone’s death, neither do I feel like celebrating
my birthday. When boys of my age are swiping right on tinder or flirting
with someone, I am not able to talk to any girl (I am straight) or a
stranger, barring my friends or family.
Everything in my childhood was normal, my parents. I didn't face any kind
of abuse. Is there any problem with me?
Not at all!
As long as you are happy, you are absolutely fine.
Stay happy and blessed!
14. I have 9 years experience in Construction, Planning and Costing Field.
Also, I completed my B.E and MBA (Project management). How do I get
to the top management job? Do I have to study or gain more experience?
There are only 2 ways to get to the top management level:
1. Starting your own venture/business
2. Develop holistic learning and understanding of your field, network as much
as possible and align your career goals and consistent performance intricately
with your business/people/industry
Method 1 makes you the leader by default and is tougher.
Method 2 is convoluted, often marred by politics and is pursued by majority
who hold such an ambition. There is no guarantee here that you will make it to
top management.
Neither qualification nor experience will take you there, but your
determination and passion will.
15. My friend tells me I am selfish and that I think only about me. However I
just do things that come to my mind. Am I not normal?
Ignore your friend's observation and just accept and respect yourself the way
you are.
Understand that it's only his opinion about you and it seems to be false and
baseless.
Your own view about yourself is what should matter to you.
Some people may say something good about you, others may say something
bad about you. Simply ignore the comments of ALL OF THEM.
As long as you are happy with yourself, YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY NORMAL.
16. I have changed my work location to another state and been feeling
depressed and lonely since then (more than a year). I am not able to get
over it and not able to make friends around either.
What should I do to get over it and to be able to enjoy my life? What is
the best thing to do in order to get away from depression and loneliness?
Prioritize your happiness over anything else, always.
It's important that you stay happy and in a reasonable comfort zone.
Set all your priorities and decisions accordingly. It could well mean moving
back to your hometown and family.
17. I'm not a very smart girl. I learn very slowly. In my high school maths and
science classes, I was the student who used to be like, "Uhhhh........I don't
get it" after the teacher finished explaining a new concept to the class.
I had to come into tutorials, ask my friends for help, and spend extra time
studying to ace my classes. This is how I managed to graduate high school
with a GPA of 3.88. I'm not very proud of it though, because I know GPA
doesn't mean much when it comes to one's level of intelligence.
Will I be able to succeed in terms of work/career? I'm almost done with
college (graduating next summer). I have a near-perfect GPA (only
because I tried extremely hard), yet I feel like no one's going to want to
hire me. I lack confidence, because I feel like it's going to take me forever
to learn actual real-world work. What if they fire me for learning so
slowly? Do I have a chance at success in the real world?
You are so serious about your future career from now itself, I am more than
sure that you will do wonders.
Just ensure that you start taking the world less seriously and believe more in
yourself. Believe in yourself so much that there is no looking back ever.
Stay light-hearted, light-minded, relaxed, calm, composed and try to stay
happy in the small little things of life which you value as life's most beautiful
gifts to you (such as your health, family, friends, knowledge etc.). Ensuring your
happiness is the most important need for you right now and you need to focus
on that at any cost.
Life is very, very simple. You already know what you know and also what you
don't know, don't you? And you never need to prove a point to anyone in life
but yourself.
Then why all the anxiety and/or stress about the future.
Just enjoy your present to the fullest and future will automatically take care of
itself :)
18. What does it feel to be low scorer in class?
It feels simply amazing, because you learn this important lesson of life so early
- You never need to prove a point to anyone but yourself.
I had always been a class topper in school and college.
This topper status ended up becoming my liability instead of an asset later on,
when I was diagnosed with acute schizophrenia like psychosis, as a result of
ignoring my happy self and getting into depression with too much of stress and
loneliness.
Result - I still take medicines and earn a paltry package which is not enough to
sustain myself and family, even after 6 years of experience and doing B.Tech
and MBA from top-notch colleges before that.
Moral of the story - Be open to life and never doubt yourself. Excess of
everything is bad in life, including studies, because you tend to miss out on
other important aspects of life such as relationships, confidence, health, social
skills etc. which are much, much more important than academic knowledge.
Therefore, you need to develop yourself in an all-round manner by taking time
out to enjoy, relax, take good care of yourself and learn and do only what you
want to and definitely not what somebody else tries to push upon you.
19. What is scope of rural management in India?
It depends upon you to quite an extent.
I have seen people from top rural management institutes such as IRMA, Anand
who have joined the corporate world instead of venturing into rural
management.
This means rural work is not a very hot pursuit among such professionals.
This presents an opportunity in front of you, especially if you are really keen to
make a mark in rural work. You will have to go about in a systematic, long term
manner though; meeting rural authorities, people etc., doing research and
identifying the pain areas of the rural area where you want to bring a
difference.
20. I am a last year Engineering student from Pune University. I come from a
village and my house is located outside the village, so I felt I was a little
immature and that my personality was pale. I came to Pune to improve
my personality but there's no considerable improvement. I feel regretful
and depressed. I want to improve myself. My college life is going to end
in six months. I want to improve myself. I want to become mature and
improve in communication skills and my thoughts. What should I do?
You need to accept yourself the way you are, to begin with.
Desiring an improvement in personality is good, however please understand
that it is a slow and gradual process and will not happen overnight.
Therefore, no need to feel depressed, otherwise it will damage your
personality instead of improving.
Keep learning new things every day, stay relaxed and be happy in the simple,
little gifts of your life such as health, family, friends, knowledge, etc. to begin
with.
21. I have done my masters from IIT-B in renewable energy. I am interested
in research. Currently I have been working in an MNC for the past two
years which is one of the world's top ten construction consultants. I am
not satisfied with my job profile. Is it a good decision to leave my current
job in Pune which pays me a decent salary INR (~60k/pm) for a start-up in
Mumbai which pays considerably less INR(~40k/pm), but provides more
learning opportunity and later on hope to start my own company? Or
should I look towards PhD? I am getting married on Jan 16.
A correction in profile should be done only when package does not get
reduced.
PhD may help in learning, but it will bog you down financially, so not
recommended.
Therefore, please continue in your current job, unless you get an opportunity
that pays you higher. This stability is also important since you are about to get
married.
22. With the passage of time I have realized that I am becoming short-
tempered and stubborn. How can I overcome this?
It's ok to be short-tempered and/or stubborn at times.
Sometimes our temper and stubborn behaviour help us stand for ourselves,
our principles and our loved ones.
What you need to question yourself right now is - Am I happy the way I am?
If yes, EVERYTHING is fine.
If no, you need to try everything you can to be happy.
23. How can I get things (that I want to get) easily in my life?
It's never guaranteed that you will indeed get what you want in life. However,
you can always try your best and HAVE TO leave the rest. Sorry, but life is
never fair and the sooner we accept this, the happier we stay!
24. How do I integrate smart work with hard work?
By being happy; when you learn to work happily and passionately, you
integrate smart work with hard work.
To become happy, you need to understand the value of small, little, simple
gifts of your life such as your health, knowledge, experience, family, friends,
career etc.
25. Which are the best KPO/BPO companies to work with in India?
None! Working in KPO/BPO industry is a sheer waste of your potential.
I am writing this from first-hand experience and can easily tell you that all your
time spent in any such organization will be nothing but a waste.
26. I am struggling with depression and have ‘trichtillomania’. Do you have
any tips or ways I can help myself?
You are killing time, buddy :)
You need to stay productive and push yourself into doing small, little, simple
yet valuable things that'd keep you happy.
27. What are certain mistakes which people do knowingly?
In India:
1. Some people would spit on the roads and almost anywhere (sometimes it
may fall upon the passer-by)
2. Use of foul language and objectionable words as a part of daily dialogue
3. Littering on the roads or inside buildings, seemingly as a birth-right
4. Honking too much and unnecessarily too, including honking on red-lights
5. Jumping red-lights and over-speeding of course
6. In government offices, making people wait or run-around to get their own
documents/work done
7. Vandalizing bill-boards and misuse of public property
8. Pilferage of others' possessions such as wallet, mobile phone etc.
9. Pushing each other vigorously to board the bus/train/metro first
10. Feeling proud in breaking/by-passing the queue, boasting about their self-
proclaimed VVIP status
11. Exchange of bribery and using influence in recruitment and exams
12. Rowdy behaviour with women and peace-loving people, taking the excuse
of occasion such as festival, strike, party, procession etc.
28. Could you get chucked out of Quora if you sledge someone?
I don't think so. In the first place, Quora does have methods so you can block
anyone who is trying to sledge you. You can report that person to Quora team
as well.
Of course, if someone is doing this intentionally, really too much and with too
many, he is paving his way to get out of the forum.
29. Is it worthwhile to pursue a full time MBA after a work experience of
about two years?
No for money and yes for learning; there is no guarantee that your package
gets a hike after MBA.
However, there is full guarantee that you will be much more learnt and self-
reliant once you complete MBA.
30. How is job demand for geologist in India?
Geological Society of India
Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology, Dehradun, Uttarakhand (INDIA)
Indian Society of Engineering Geology
I googled with the keyword 'Geology India' and got the above-specified results.
Seems that geology is a niche field in India, where talent demand is not met by
the availability of sufficient, quality resources.
You would need to research more to arrive at your answer, because in geology
you can pursue an academic, research or industry career.
31. What should one do when everything he tries to do right goes wrong?
Stop worrying about the result to start with. It's our desires and expectations
to get something in return for our efforts that always play the spoilsport.
We have to learn to work without worrying about the result, in case we want
to lead a happy, simple and peaceful life, which is desirable.
32. How do you handle life when things don't happen the way you want
them to happen although you are very willing to bring changes in your
life?
We can only act according to our conscience. The result of our action is never
in our hands. Understand that your self-satisfaction lies in a sincere pursuit of
your actions. Result is something we can observe at best, or even choose to
remain indifferent towards.
For example, I am B.Tech and MBA both from top-notch colleges of India. I
don't even earn 50K a month even after 6 years of experience. The point is, I
have always given my best and will continue to do so, irrespective of how high
or how low the world gives back.
I donate a formidable share of my monthly income to NGOs. I do it without
desiring for anything in return.
I have been staying happy this way, then why can't you!
Life is all about learning and giving. Life hardly has a meaning in the desire to
'get' something, whether in return or otherwise.
33. What would be most appropriate decision after BE in Electronics and
Communications and 1.5 yrs of experience (Testing Domain) in an IT firm -
switching company or MS or MBA?
Switching company, any day; MS or MBA never guarantees a hike in package,
switching does.
34. My process of learning is slow. What should I do? I am a B.Tech 2nd
year
student.
Be open. Be relaxed. Be simple. Be observant.
There is nothing wrong going on. You just need to calm down your mind and
follow your inner voice - the voice of your heart/conscience.
You will yourself realize the way to learn and it will get faster with time.
35. How degree can prove the capabilities of any person?
It doesn't.
What it does is to somewhat ensure that the student possesses the minimum
or threshold capability/knowledge/competency in the field of graduation.
Degrees are what the world looks at. It is your learning, talent, grit and passion
that define your capabilities.
36. Why it is hard to find life's goal?
To find your life's goal, you have to find your true self first.
As finding your true self is difficult, therefore it follows that it is hard to find
life's goal, though not impossible.
37. What questions should one ask to self to get success?
1. Who am I? - The purpose here is to generate your self-awareness. It brings
you to the present.
2. Where have I been? - This answers what has made you who you are. It
means learning from your past.
3. Who do I hang out with? - You need to be in company of those who are
more learned than you, so that future becomes better than the present.
38. What is life?
Life can't be defined.
Where certainty ends, life begins.
The best we can say is that life is the uncertainty and the adventure
component of our existence.
The purpose of life is to make sense out of this uncertainty and pursue a goal
(which can be defined unlike life) and enjoy the journey while you are at it.
We can either waste the time in our life or LIVE it. It's our choice :)
39. I am 20 and worried about my career choice. What should I do? For the
last two years I have been preparing for designing but could not get into
desired college. I returned to my hometown 6-7 months ago and thought
of preparing on my own. As the days and months passed I started to feel
lack of dedication and I am not even practicing anymore. To go further let
me tell you that I live in a middle class joint family, my father is a Builder
& Property Dealer and he is ready with me for any career I choose. I
started to feel like joining my father's business and drop designing. My
uncle owns an electronics shop and that is my second thought. My father
also suggested me to open a mobile phone service centre (of a company)
but I am less interested due to lack of knowledge. Now I am thinking to
open a Dhaba (restaurant) on one of our property on highway with as
minimum investment as possible. I am confused and frustrated. Please
suggest something if I can do anything about above choice or something
else.
Whatever choice you make, make it keeping in mind how much it interests you
over a long term.
Make your choice such that you see yourself doing the same and getting better
over it for at least 5 non-stop years.
Opening a dhaba or food joint is a good choice. Just be sure that your reason to
work through dhaba is strong enough to sustain for 5 years at least, because
that's when real benefits from your endeavour will start to come.
Your young age and energy is your biggest strength. If you can channelize it
into running your dhaba well, nothing like it!
40. I have placed medical leave at my office to prepare for competitive exam.
Am I doing the right thing? I have taken medical leave from work to
prepare for some competitive exam which had always been my dream.
When I started working 2 years back, as a fresher, at that time I thought
I’ll be able to find some time out of my daily schedule to prepare for the
exams. But I hardly used to find any because of my tight schedule (I had
to work for about 13-14 hours a day most of the time, staying away from
home so had to do all other works of mine myself). As a result I finally
decided to go on medical leave to prepare for the exams (my parents are
not allowing me to leave it). I am at home currently preparing for exams
but many a time feel I am doing something very wrong by doing this, then
at other times I think there is not much dependency of me at work so I
should not worry much and concentrate on my studies. I am in a very
confused state because of which I can't concentrate on studies many
times. What should I do? I don't care much if I lose the job but still I can't
stop thinking that I am doing something wrong. Kindly help!!
Have you shared this need of yours with your manager/HR?
Though it is not compulsory for you to do so, however it would make the
proceedings much simpler and calm down your mind out of the confusion.
41. Why does this female employee get treated much better and what can I
do about it? I have a female colleague, who just graduated from college,
and my boss made her a manager of "customer success" and she makes
more than I do just calling customers and asking if they are happy. I am
much more experienced with better technical skills and education, but I
feel just because she is an attractive woman she was given this job. Now
she has been put in charge of asking people why they didn't finish tasks
as quickly as desired, so she has been sending me messages asking "why
haven't you finished X in Y days?" and so on, whereas several other
employees are much slower to finish tasks and she doesn't hassle them.
Does this sound fair? Is this the normal way businesses operate? Should I
ignore her to help diminish her power? What can I do in this situation to
reduce my stress?
Favouritism and office politics are hallmarks of the corporate world.
You need to take these 2 steps:
1. Be assertive and don't let her interruptions bother you at all. Be confident
that you are completely independent in work and never need to be managed
by someone, may be except your real boss.
2. Talk it out with your boss and let him know your opinion on the same.
No need to feel bothered, even if she is made the CEO. Stay happy, contented
and keep doing your good work.
42. Is education overrated?
Education as a need of every individual is HIGHLY under-rated.
The current system of education is HIGHLY over-rated though. It creates more
problems for students than serving the real purpose of learning.
43. Are there any legal consequences of not serving notice period in the
companies in India?
Stop coming to office and give them a strong reason such a medical or
personal emergency.
They have no option but to give in, then.
44. What is HR planning?
HR planning is the process of the end-to-end planning of the talent flow in an
organization.
This covers planning of:
1. Employee Recruitment
2. Selection
3. On-boarding
4. Employee engagement
5. Employee career support through training and development
6. Business support through policy, performance and compliance management
7. Compensation and Benefits
8. Employee Rewards and Recognition
9. Employee Grievance Handling
10. Attrition and Exit Management
45. How should and why should I lead a happy life?
What else would you want to do, my friend?
Without happiness, you just can't do any sort of work effectively and/or
efficiently.
To be happy, you have to learn to relax deeply, stay productive in what you
love to do the most, spend more time with people who love you, do and learn
at least 1 new thing every day, value the people and the possessions you
already have in your life and stay simple and just be who you are :)
46. What are the job prospects for a mechanical engineering student in India
who gets his degree in 4.5 years?
Same as someone who gets his degree in 4 years.
Go by your interest and apply for a job matching your passion area, in a good
company offering that job profile.
47. Being an engineering student, how can I help a child of class 8 who even
don't know how to add 66 and 23?
Be simple in your helping approach.
Become very basic to understand the child's learning needs and connect with
him to understand his learning needs as well as his interests.
Begin with addition classes itself. You can of course teach addition and other
basics of maths very well. Please don't think that it is something very, very
basic. Focus on helping the child at any cost.
I am sure it will work out. Be open and try to relate to the child's point of view
as much as possible. 1%, if it still doesn't work out, politely get out of the
situation.
48. How can I build my career?
To build your career, you would first need to know what is your passion, what
it is that to love to do the most and that gives you happiness.
It could be something as simple as gardening, writing etc. to something bit
complex such as data analysis or financial management.
Once you know your passion, you need to find a way to develop it in to a
professional skill that can add immense value to society.
For that, you can build a CV and apply for a job in good companies providing
career opportunities in the area of your passion.
What next? Get, set and go :)
49. If a person is good for nothing and worthless, has he or she right to be
alive?
It is impossible that any person is born worthless.
All of us are human beings and created absolutely equal by nature.
Right to be alive? Are you kidding me? Of course every grown-up human has a
right to his/her way of life - personal space, choices, preferences, fulfilling basic
needs and develop social relations, a 'duty' to take charge of his/her life, keep
learning, enjoy life and find one's purpose in society.
Life is very simple, buddy. No need of such stray thoughts.
Chillax :)
50. When would this life end? I am tired of struggling and really want to see
the other side.
Right now, you need to be with your family and loved ones, dear :)
Every day in life is a new beginning. Sleep off for today and tomorrow will
certainly be a better day.
Believe. Believe in yourself, my friend!
51. I am working hard, why is it not helping me?
You need a break from work!
Before you think of doing hard work, make sure that you are happy.
Happiness enables conversion of your capability into an effective execution.
To be happy, you need to make your life simpler. Learn to relax deeply, don't
stretch yourself excessively, take good care of your emotional health and
temporarily cut down on your efforts. Instead, do those tasks that you enjoy
the most to do (e.g. listening to music, travel, spending more time with those
who love you, gardening, strolling, writing daily diary etc.)
You will feel your energy and motivation returning after a few days.
52. How can I stop procrastinating?
Why do you think of laziness as something necessarily bad?
Laziness is good in a way.
It allows you to learn smarter ways of doing things and also to prioritize your
daily tasks, segregating the unimportant from the rest.
Being relaxed and lazy is absolutely fine as long as you are not getting a sense
of guilt because of it.
53. How should I tell my current employer (joined 1 month ago only) that I
will not come tomorrow onwards? I got a good opportunity in other
company.
Mail them clearly stating the reason.
They will call you back and then politely decline again.
It will be over (remember that no one can force you to work against your free
will).
54. How do I know what my interest is?
To know what your real passion/interest/talent is, you need to keenly and
consistently observe yourself and your daily routine of tasks.
Our sub-conscious/hidden talent is nothing but what we like doing the most on
a daily basis, but haven't quite recognized it as a marketable skill.
It could be something as simple as gardening or something as deep as working
with data.
Techniques such as deep relaxation, meditation, conscious solitude and staying
productive in what makes you happy (e.g., writing a daily diary on your
deepest feelings and thoughts) can very well connect to your real/natural self.
Hope this helps.
55. What are the best product based software companies to work for in India
and why?
SAP Software & Solutions | Technology & Business Applications
IBM - India
Newgen Software - BPM, ECM, DMS, CCM, workflow software and solutions
These are only a few among the best because of their contemporary,
competitive products as well as an established clientele and growth. For full list
you may want to google.
56. How do you become a good teacher?
A good teacher is one who learns more and more by happily, voluntarily
exchanging his/her knowledge, skills and traits with others who are looking for
it.
Teachers have a natural talent of teaching and co-learning. Those who have
neither this talent nor the passion to build this interest are in all probability not
going to make good teachers.
Second aspect to being a teacher is the area of expertise. When you feel
passionate about your subject, you will become an automatic authority of the
subject and still keep learning in it.
The biggest joy for a teacher is the joy of sharing :)
57. What will happen if you become a person with no emotions?
You will become a roboid, strictly following others' commands.
58. Does planning your day help you improve your life? If so how?
Planning means to explain to yourself how you are going to approach your
short term goals (1 day - 1 year goals). For example, your goal is to get a job
within 1 month. You narrow down to a couple of profiles, target some
companies, check their openings and approach their recruiters. You also learn
more about the business, the work culture and the job requirement of these
profiles/companies and build a planner/calendar which tells you which
interview is scheduled what day, when you should follow up, etc. Moreover,
you also have a back-up 'plan' in case your master plan fails.
All of this (the prepare-yourself-mentally process), when it hits your mind
before you actually do it on a daily basis (and you building scenarios, possible
outcomes and subsequent actions to be taken by you in your mind - a sort of
decision tree), is nothing but your planning that is enabling you to approach
your goal of bagging a dream job effectively.
As life has no meaning without a goal and planning is your approach to
proceed towards your then goal, it follows that planning brings sense to life
more than anything else (except probably your world of emotions - you, your
family, well-wishers and loved/loving ones, with whom you enjoy and share
the journey towards your goal).
59. How do people stay in school for so long without holding a real job some
times?
Good question!
That's because it's their GOAL :)
They happily take education loan and/or whatever support required for higher
education as well as daily expenses.
They even sideline earning money, building career or marriage plans, just to
pursue their need and love for education and learning.
60. Which is the highest paid specialisation in mechanical engineering?
In India, it is Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning.
61. I am a mechanical engineering fresher got placed as design engineer in a
small company for a pay about Rs. 12000 a month. What are the chances
of moving to another company after an experience here?
You know it the best.
Your life, your career, your choice, after all :)
62. How do I live a job free life? I'm 30 year old, MBA grad, working with an
MNC in India and earning roughly Rs. 1 lakh after deducting taxes. I think
the city life doesn't suit me and I want to settle down somewhere in the
mountains. I don't have any other skill to earn money, what should I do
to realize my dream? Should I save and invest money and how much
would be sufficient for that? Among the North-East and
Himachal/Uttarakhand, which is a suitable place to settle down for good?
Shift gradually to a work from anywhere (internet) model.
You could work as a content writer, author or consultant and achieve the self-
employed status.
63. What does an HR look for in a fresher candidate?
Body language and articulation.
They check for positive vibes and honesty in articulation.
64. How do I get selected in Boeing India as a mechanical engineer? And what
are the various roles to play as a fresher?
Visit Boeing India - Careers.
Then apply for the role of your choice at India Jobs.
65. Is an MBA-Finance is required for a good position in Finance or is BBA
finance enough?
MBA Finance is not quite necessary.
BBA will do, provided you have the intent and the conviction to make career in
finance.
Keep trying, keep learning and you would be there!
66. Why do people think life is a waste?
Not all people think that.
May be a majority does so by their own choice of beliefs and thoughts.
With a goal to pursue always, life can never be a waste.
Learning, happiness, serving humanity - there is so much that can be done.
If we learn to keep hope and believe in ourselves, life would never seem a
waste.
67. Is it alright to have a lot of mood swings for a teenager?
Yes, alright.
Keep learning new things, spend time with people who love you and stay
productive in what you love to do.
Never try to prove a point to anyone but yourself.
This should control the fluctuations in mood to quite an extent.
68. How can one overcome depression?
By focusing on the happiness, health and contentment of self.
Listen to your needs. Learn to relax deeply and stay productive in what you
love to do and keep learning from it.
Spend more time with the people who love you.
Never try to prove a point to anyone but yourself.
69. I badly want to settle in abroad. What should I do? I completed
Engineering in 2014 and till now I don't have a steady income with a
steady job. I am not a typical stereotype as the other people, who just
carry with a dead end job working like a machine. I always have this
desire to go abroad and settle there. But the thing is my family is
financially very low and I own an educational loan of 4 lakhs yet to be
paid to the bank. Even now, I cannot stay in a job for long. What should I
do?
Start your own business in your area of passion/talent.
It is difficult for you to move abroad immediately, and own business is your
best bet at the same.
70. Why do I feel guilty about marketing?
Marketing means to build a perception of your business in the minds of the
consumer and also the stakeholders. In the current times, marketing is pursued
in a highly manipulative, influential and sometimes even unethical manner.
You are feeling guilty about it because either you are not happy doing
marketing, or you are not yet ready to do marketing. It may also mean that you
are not being allowed to do marketing the way you want to do.
In marketing there is a push approach and there is a pull approach. The push
approach is what is prevalent today. It means filling up all the empty spaces in
everyone's life with brands, advertisements, billboards etc. Push reaps
immediate benefit, however is harmful in the long run for most businesses and
their brand worth.
Pull is subtle however it gives the customer the real space to understand a
product/brand/business and how s/he could stand benefited from the same. It
means more of win-win marketing where customers get attracted to you
because they see some real value in your business, your brand and your
product. Business legends have been created through the leadership based
pull approach to marketing.
Today, sales and marketing professionals worry too much about completing
immediate targets by hook or crook, without looking at the bigger picture. This
is concerning and a possible explanation to why it makes you feel guilty.
The solution for you is, do what makes you happy. It may or may not mean
changing your career/profile. It could mean discussing your vibes with a senior
leader in your company, preferably marketing top-notch, who has lived
marketing all his/her life.
Hope I got you some inputs :)
71. In India if my employer/boss refuses to give me leave (even though I
asked a month before) can I sue him? If not, what can I do?
I don't know whether you can sue him, however you definitely have equal
rights as a human being. If they are your seniors, it doesn't mean they are
superior to you in any way, especially when your genuine need for a personal
leave is in question. You can follow a course of action in the order below, to
get your job done (get your leave approved):
1. Write a mail to your boss marking your HR, boss of HR and your boss' boss,
asking for clarification why you should not be granted the leave. Wait for a
response.
In case the matter is not resolved and all of them are against your leave,
however you are sure that your stand is right and therefore you deserve the
leave, then:
2. Reply back disagreeing with them and taking a stand that you deserve the
leave and also that it was well planned, informed and also highly needed by
you. Argue hard, keep arguing till an extent that they give in (after all, they
have their own duties to do and they just can't afford to give so much time to
you).
Keep in mind, however, that you only argue logically and write/communicate
in professional language. You should not give them any reason to accuse you
back. Even if they meet you face to face, press your case hard, professionally
and assertively highlighting your need for the leave and maintaining your stand
for as long as required.
I am sure you will get the leave, without doing more than 80% of what I have
mentioned :)
72. How do I suppress my anger and disappointment when my best friend
bags a higher package, when I know I am technically stronger?
Let your friend become the richest person of the world right now, let the
whole world be unfair to you, still it must not matter to you!
You can never compare yourself with anyone else. You only know your own
story of life and not anyone else's.
Be happy with what you have. Don't lose your love and affection for yourself
because of any senseless reason! Money is a very poor benchmark of success.
Own peace of mind, contentment, learning and happiness are the best
benchmarks of success.
So, please don't try to give up/waste away your treasure of inner peace,
delight, contentment, self-belief and happiness, which is much more valuable
than a pile of currency.
Have self-belief. Be open-minded, be productive everyday and learn new
things as fast as possible.
Your day will also come.
Also, please try to be happy for your friend. After all he is your 'best' friend,
isn't he?
At the end of the day, it's your self-worth that counts. Pieces of paper are just
that - pieces of paper, nothing more. Let the whole world run madly after
them. Wise people definitely don't need to be a part of that directionless herd!
Their pursuit for excellence ensures that money comes to them and they never
need to run after it!
73. Why don't schools teach emotional intelligence to children?
Emotional intelligence is a very high order skill. Acquiring and maintaining
emotional intelligence is an uphill task. Bringing it out for demonstration in the
class is even more difficult.
More than teaching emotional intelligence per se, I guess the answer lies in
teaching children in an emotionally intelligent manner.
Acquiring emotional intelligence needs a constant and substantial amount of
learning and personal growth for the teachers themselves.
Therefore, you don't find genuine experts on emotional intelligence very
easily.
74. Are introverted writers cursed by relatives?
NO. Being an introverted writer or for that matter anyone else is purely a
matter of one's own choice.
First of all, anyone who is an introvert today, will, in all probability, not be an
introvert in the future. Likewise, anyone who is not an introvert today, can
become an introvert sometime in the future, and can again not be an introvert
sometime later.
People change with time; though this change is slow and is visible only when
we meet some person after a long time, say a couple of years.
We change for the good when we keep learning and loving ourselves and we
change for the worse when we don't believe in ourselves and don't learn.
Therefore, introverted writers are not cursed by anyone. They become an
introverted writer by their very own choice.
75. Why do people get angry when they are hungry? I for one get super angry
and agitated when hungry.
I don't know the biological phenomenon that triggers this, however let me
share my perspective.
Some wise person has quoted - Never wait for your food when you are hungry.
Go and get it right away!
Hunger is a very basic need of ours. Anger is triggered when we somehow end
up waiting for our food against our will.
When we are raring to satiate our hunger, everything else will seem an
obstacle between you and your food and you will try to resist it away. Hence
the anger :)
76. How do I decide the future of my life when nothing is there in my hands?
Everything is there in your hands, my friend.
Forget everything that has happened and focus on yourself instead of others.
Be in the present.
Ask yourself - What is it that I want to do? What is it that I really love to do?
What is my biggest talent? What work fills me with utmost passion?
Be open. Search for the answers to the above questions within you. Society is
not going to help you much and is only going to confuse you, so ignore them
for a while.
Relax and write a daily diary, where you express your first feelings (not
thoughts) to yourself. Write as much as you want to write. Try to answer the
questions above every day, again and again. Also, read some books that
interest you and spend time over the internet knowing about the latest
happenings in the country and the world.
A day will soon come when you will realize that you have indeed answered the
above questions completely and satisfactorily. Let those answers of yours, my
friend, decide your future. It will automatically come into your hands :)
77. What are the career options in commerce after 12th
?
You can pursue almost anything on this earth.
Go by your interest, your talent, your passion.
Examples:
1. Bachelor in Commerce (BCom) and then MCom - in case you wish to make a
career in accounts/payroll in a good company
2. BBA followed by MBA (Finance) - in case you are business oriented
3. BA (English/Economics/Mathematics) followed by MA in the subject chosen
- in case you want to pursue journalism, maths or economics
4. BCom followed by Chartered Accountancy (CA) - in case you want to become
a chartered accountant
5. BSc (Statistics) or B.Stat followed by masters - in case you want to become a
statistician
78. Is love marriage worth doing? Will it last long in Indian scenario if the in-
laws mentally torture daughter in law to its fullest? What should i do to
save my marriage?
There is nothing wrong with love marriage.
Both lovers and arranged couples have to work equally hard to keep
developing and rediscovering their relationships.
It's a pretty common practice in typical Indian families where the elderly in-
laws feel bossy over the daughter in law, who is a new member of the family.
This is nothing but an attempt to control and mould her as desired. They feel
that they are traditionally entitled to do so, which is a totally irrelevant,
impractical and illogical way of thinking.
As an arranged married and open minded individual myself, I am personally
against this culture/practice and believe that men and women are equal and
have equal rights as well as duties.
You need to take a stand to protect your personal space. This simply means
that wherever you feel your rights are being infringed, or someone is behaving
inappropriately at home with you, your first priority is to protect yourself and
your peace of mind at any cost. Answer them right back. If you are not listened
to, warn them. Seek appropriate help, say women welfare forum or a legal
recourse, in case you feel that the situation is getting worse or out of your
hands!
Hope all gets well.
79. I get severe mood swings and have depression problem. How can I get
over it?
Please understand that life is very, very simple. We can easily manage our life
very well. Depression happens when we get out of our personal comfort zone
and are not able to relax/take ample care of self.
Take your thoughts very lightly and casually. Give more importance to yourself
and your feelings than to outside environment or people or what they have to
say. Try to spend and enjoy some time with yourself in solitude, feeling good
about yourself every day.
Stay busy and productive in what you like to do, on a daily basis. It could be a
mix of simple, delightful activities such as gardening, leisure reading, writing
daily diary, meditation, yoga, enjoying music, etc. Make it a point to do and
learn at least one new thing everyday.
Spend more time with your loved ones, those who love you and care for you
the most. Also, learn to relax deeply and take sound sleep daily and
understand that everything is fine. Listen to your feelings honestly and accept
yourself, love yourself the way you are :)
80. Why do people enjoy working?
People enjoy working because they want to. They pursue work happily,
passionately and productively and are 100% engrossed in work, enjoying it to
the core. They do the work they want to do without anyone else putting undue
pressure over them.
When they don't feel like working or need to take a break or rest, they take
100% rest then.
So it's either work or rest and never both of them happening together.
Therefore, it's one's own choice when to work and when not to work, whether
to work happily or sadly and whether to work under self-motivation or the
pressure of some other person. Everything depends entirely upon you!
81. I'm a B.Pharma graduate and have further pursued an MBA in Pharma
Marketing. Currently I'm working as a Brand manager in a Pharma
company. I’ve an inclination towards IT Healthcare though. What skill set
or course do I need to get into IT Healthcare?
You need neither skill set nor course to get in IT healthcare.
You just need the intent, interest and passion to pursue an IT healthcare
career.
You could in fact let your current organization know about your true inclination
and passion (towards IT healthcare). They should then help you move to such a
profile internally or externally.
82. I have a GMAT Phobia. I am planning to take it since last year but I’m
somehow scared of it. How can I overcome this issue?
Fear of any competitive exams stems from thinking too much and doubting
yourself/your abilities.
The solution is to take your thoughts very lightly and casually and stay
productive everyday in what you like to do. This way a person's confidence
rises and so does the self-belief to perform well in any exam.
83. Is there still hope for my life? My father left my mother only 2 years after
their marriage for another woman. My mother tried to stop him but he
would beat her every time. When that woman became pregnant, the
news completely broke my mother. She would have died if my relatives
had not forced my father for a child. Hence after 7 years of marriage I was
born. My father never loved me because he never loved my mom. Me
and my mother continued living on little money he would give us every
month. He wanted me drop out of my school but my mother always
stood by me. He denied my college education but I told him that I'll kill
myself. I graduated with B.B.A. and wanted to go for PG, but due to the
lack of financial resources and my family condition it was not attainable.
Today I'm 27 years old with no job at hand. My father gives us Rs. 3500
per month for maintenance. He doesn't care about us because his other
son got a decent job in a multinational company after completing his
M.C.A. I tried many a times for a job but failed or should I say, no one
wants to hire a graduate when you see lots of candidates are available
with higher degrees. I have lost all my hope and the will to live. I'm only
living for my mother otherwise I don't want to live anymore. Please help
me. Guide me through this, so I can give some happiness to my mom. Any
help is welcome if there's still hope.
Stay strong, my friend!
I suggest you share your life's story in your interviews as well.
Everything will be alright! Stay in touch.
84. What exactly is a NORMAL life in India?
When you listen to your heart daily,
You are leading a normal life.
When you laugh a contagious lot,
You are leading a normal life.
When you know who you are,
You are leading a normal life.
When you love everyone around you,
You are leading a normal life.
When you sleep sound and daily,
You are leading a normal life.
When you are open and curious,
You are leading a normal life.
When you pursue your goal with passion,
You are leading a normal life.
When you are thankful for everything,
You are leading a normal life.
85. How can you never be awkward?
By always being true to yourself. The moment we let go of the burden to prove
a point about self to others, we realize that it had always been a futile activity
we had been indulging ourselves in.
We never need to prove a point to anyone in life except ourselves.
Therefore, as long as we are true to ourselves, it doesn't matter at all whether
we come across as awkward to self and/or others.
86. I want to write letters to someone. How can I find people who enjoy
writing letters?
I am very fond of writing letters. I understand it's a lost art. But I'd still
want to have a letters only kind of friend. All my friends are either too
lazy to opt for it or prefer emails. How can I find a pen friend like that?
I am looking for someone who enjoys conversations, who can talk about
anything and everything under the sun, who can make sense of life and is
looking for a perennial source of letters.
Also please make sure, you are at least 20 and above of age.
I am very fond of reading and writing letters and have done it during my
teenage years with a pen pal.
You are most welcome to be my pen pal.
I am 28 and would love to share across my postal address with you for the
same :)
87. How do I deal with the situation in which while reading the summary of
the text and going to the next page I usually feel like I haven't read
anything and feel as if I am totally blank? Is this normal?
Yes, this is normal and almost everyone has done this, including me.
I was comfortably able to get over this habit after I learnt that from reading we
are supposed to capture only that much that actually goes into the mind in one
shot of reading.
Nothing more, nothing less :)
88. How do I stop pleasing everyone? I can't easily say 'no', even if I say I
would be there with all the explanations and reasons. When I ask for any
favour, one could easily say 'no' without any inconvenience. I would be
blamed if I say 'no' for pleasing them. How can I become more assertive
and confident in myself?
You need to become less serious and fun-hearted, my friend :)
You also need to become happier, which will grow your confidence as well as
empower you to speak your true feelings out.
Staying productive in what you love to do. Taking good care of yourself,
especially emotional health, is a pre-cursor to develop a naturally assertive and
confident behaviour.
Believe in yourself strongly, stay ever hopeful and I am sure you will do it :)
89. What is the best thing about Bangalore?
I have stayed at Bangalore 2010-2013! The best thing about Bangalore is its
diversity and the openness with which people embrace each others'
differences.
I stayed as a tenant at a local landlord's house and I would occasionally be
treated with the local breakfast cuisine by my friendly neighbours. The
landlord and the neighbours even helped me set up the house well when I had
just moved in.
The local retailers were friendly and welcoming too. I used to love visiting the
local markets, the temples, the hang-out places etc. and most importantly, the
city gave me some life-long friends!
90. Why does a girl hate to take the first step? I know a girl likes me since a
year. She has never talked to me in anyway but still stares me and notices
me every time among a group of guys. Why doesn’t she want to talk first?
You can't blame girls for that. It's their nature as well as social conditioning.
In a family, the male is the food gatherer, the protector and the hunter while
the female is the care giver, home manager and the kids' nurturer.
Why don't you just go ahead and talk to her! Why not hold a frank and
confident conversation, before your stray thoughts con-volute the reality into
a make-believe situation!
Keep things simple, my friend! Approach her, smile, have a healthy eye contact
and the talk will automatically happen.
91. Why are we so important to ourselves?
That's the human nature - to be curious, observant, inquisitive and opinionated
about the developments that impact you or interest you.
If you would observe a little child closely, you would understand human nature
in its purest form. Try snatching a child's toy away from him/her and all your
doubts will get washed away.
The meaning of life is to be happy and productive SO that you become able
enough to help and support others.
92. What is the best way to motivate yourself to study hard?
Feel free to take breaks when you don't feel like studying.
Study in small sessions. Break down your subject topics so that you can cover
them with a bit of a challenge (and not take too much challenge).
Understand that whatever you study, either you learn it 100% or 0%. There is
actually no mid-way.
93. I am 2015 pass-out fresher M.Tech. in mechanical engineering. How can I
get job in my core side?
Narrow down your industry of choice.
Choose an area or industry such as:
1. Oil & Gas/Petroleum
2. Refrigeration and Air Conditioning
3. Machine Tools
4. Welding and Sheet Metal Technology
5. Real Estate/Construction
6. Manufacturing/Automobiles
7. Energy and Power Generation
etc.
Once chosen, google for companies in your area of choice and look for job

94. How do I make my own decisions?
Listen to what your heart says and follow it. Because your heart says what
truth is and is the best action to take in any situation.
Learn to act fast and act swift in any situation, without thinking too much over
whether you are doing right or wrong.
Be confident, be responsible, stand up for yourself and you will certainly begin
to make your own decisions.
95. Why is an intellectual way of life making us socially callous?
I think that lack of mutual trust is the single biggest reason why all of us are
turning socially callous.
In traffic, we honk so much so as to irritate each other. In queues, we quarrel
over our turns. If someone is hurt on the road, no one comes ahead to help,
fearing that the blame itself would get passed on to the helper. People are
literally afraid to help thinking that they could suffer instead, which is
sometimes actually true.
This is a symptom of the rising insensitivity and diminishing humanity inside
each one of us.
It's the responsibility of our most learnt leaders at the forefront to bridge this
widening social gap.
If not addressed, this could lead to frequent social unrest in the near future,
which is definitely not desirable.
96. How do I deal with not being able to make my own decisions?
You have to learn to be honest to yourself always.
We remain indecisive when we end up giving too much importance to anyone
else and not ourselves.
Understand that we ourselves are the most important person in our lives.
We have a duty to decide and stand for ourselves, so that we can later on
become capable enough to help others.
97. If you really do care about a person, does this also mean you love her?
Yes. You just can't care unless you love.
Whether you feel the need to express that love or not is another question.
In fact, caring for the other person is a form of expressing love itself :)
98. I have a start-up proposal but I don't know whom to contact to get some
investments on that?
Start on a small scale.
Today you don't need to register a company in your name to start business in
India. You could save costs and start directly by investing your savings (in case
you have).
Hiring people would be tricky without registering your company as people will
not be serious about work on a part-time mode.
Therefore, in case you have partners, stick to working within yourself to begin
with. Later on, when you cross break-even point, you could register your firm,
get an office and start hiring full time.
99. I have to do master degree after completing English honours course so
how do I start preparing for it in advance? What are the courses available
for me?
Go for journalism.
Start blogging for websites and companies on a freelance basis and also learn
other aspects of print/electronic media such as writing a press release, video
coverage, news-reading, interviewing, press coverage etc.
This will also give you the much needed learning and experience to pro-actively
start your career.
100. How can I stop judging people?
By understanding that you can never truly judge people.
You can judge their actions at best, but you never know their complete reality.
Every person has a different story of life. We can only know ours.
101. I have around 3 years experience in PHP and am willing to pursing MS
but is it worth it?
No. Go ahead with job or start-up and not MS (start-up too only if you believe
your business model is reliable enough and you have a back-up plan already
made).
A few more years in job could give you the much-needed financial security
which would also be essential for other aspects of your life.
102. Who is the light of life and why?
YOU are, because you can help yourself the best!
103. Is doing Masters in Mechatronics (in USA) after doing Mechanical
engineering in India worth?
Yes, very much. The fees and the expenses would cost you a lot though and it
might take some time before you bag a job to repay your educational debt.
Keep these things in mind and rest, you should find better career prospects
and pay checks in the US with a course like Masters in Mechatronics.
A random search returns this result on Google: Mechatronics Engineering in
the USA | Hotcourses India
104. I'm a BE CSE 3rd
year student. I'm very good at problematic papers but
the same opposite in case of theory. I can't memorize. Is it enough only to
score in the problematic papers and concentrate less on the theoretical
papers?
No, it's not enough. I think you need to practice writing, so you develop some
amount of comfort required while expressing your ideas and knowledge.
Understand that you mostly need to write your first thought out and therefore,
writing is not as tedious and demanding as it seems to be.
Spend one hour daily in solitude, writing anything in your diary. I am sure this
step would help you understand the importance of expressing your theoretical
knowledge in addition to problem solving.
105. How do I improve my handwriting in English as whenever I attempt my
paper it become horrible that my friends can't even understand it if I
write very nicely also, so could you please help?
Slow down a bit while writing is what I would suggest!
Understand that it’s important that your writing is understood well by others,
as much as you would like to express yourself.
May be you can practice writing with a clear formation of words and sentences
on a daily basis.
106. How do I open my heart to appreciate and accept others? I am not
caring too much when communicating with others.
You need to learn to listen better. Maintaining some amount of conscious
silence while interacting with others should help.
Relaxation techniques such as yoga and pranayam should also help you
become more empathetic and connected with people. Also, take time out on a
daily basis to be spent in solitude, doing something productive such as reading
or writing.
107. What can be the reason behind if a person is impulsive and impatient?
I think it's because that person is not able to be honest to himself.
The person is getting too much affected by what others have to say or do and
is unable to understand his own likes and dislikes.
He should therefore relax and needs to learn more. Perhaps spending some
daily time in solitude writing or reading could help a lot for the person to come
out of this trap.
108. I am a SSLC student. I am lagging behind. What should I do to
overcome it and what are the techniques to succeed?
How do you know and how do you define that 'you are really lagging behind'?
No need to compare yourself with anyone else.
If at all you want to compare, compare only to yourself.
As long as you are honest to yourself and happy the way you are and the way
do your studies and assignments, you are NOT lagging behind anyone.
In case you are not happy with yourself, introspect the reason and address that
reason. Stay productive, keep learning at least one new thing everyday, meet
new people often and develop hobbies such as daily writing, reading,
gardening, cycling etc.
No need to label yourself as 'lagging' unless your heart feels so!
109. Which one is better, specialist officer or a probationary officer? Which
one offers a better salary?
I don't know about salary. Perhaps it is the same for both.
However, PO is preferable over SO because being a generalist keeps your
options open for growth.
I am tempted to believe that if you compare growth statistics of POs vs SOs,
the POs fare better.
I still advise you take a second opinion as well.
110. Is that true that boys are always a mumma's boy?
Yes, all boys are mumma's boys.
The reserved boys, who can't talk to girls, are of course mumma's boys.
The extrovert boys, who talk to everyone around, still remain mumma's boys.
Some boys grow up to be men and still remain mumma's boys while some
don't.
The more mumma's boy someone is, the more honest and capable that
boy/man is. I believe this is always true.
111. I have been smoking 2 cigarettes a day for past 1 year. Is it too late to
give up?
No, it's not too late.
However, I suggest you stop right away.
I had been in your stage 3 years back and am not able to quit now.
Better, leave it now itself. Later on, you might face multiple problems
otherwise.
112. I work in Pune in an IT firm for a US client. Due to project requirement I
will not be able to go home for Diwali. My team will even be made to
work on the day of Diwali, that too in the evening. Can I complain this to
anyone or take any action?
I suggest you talk it over with your manager or the HR himself.
Are you happy with your job overall? I suppose so.
It's the best to raise your concern with the right people, so that mutual trust is
not breached.
113. How do I deal with the situation in which I want to study more but still
not able to move forward and always feel sleepy most of the time?
Never study when you don't feel like. Study only when you really feel like
studying.
This will ease the psychological pressure of studying off you.
Also, when you study some topic, please realize that you either learn it 100%,
or you don't learn it at all. There is no mid-way.
114. Does anyone in India hate PM Modi?
Yes, there are always people on both sides of the coin.
Everyone makes mistakes and Modi must have also made some.
For example, his frequent foreign visits are not exactly liked by everyone.
Of late, the Bihar election results also point towards a flaw in the party's
strategy under his leadership. Similar was the case with the Delhi elections.
Similarly, there can be more examples.
Having said that, Modi has certain achievements to his and the government's
credit. Without going into details, Swachh Bharat Mission, Smart Cities Mission
and Digital India campaign are there to name a few, where some progress has
been made.
115. How should one identify his/her strength and weaknesses, when
he/she is in clinical depression? How to get over failures?
Clinical depression is not a stage where you need to identify your strengths or
weaknesses. It's a stage for you to completely relax, stay simple and honest to
yourself and stick to your basics.
Try to be happy by staying productive, spending more time with your loved
ones, meet new people and be thankful for the things and people in your life
that you already have.
Learning from failures is the best way to get over them, because learning
ensures that you improve in your next attempt, improve even more in the
attempt next to that and ultimately, reach success.
116. With an MBA and a few years of work experience, is it difficult to get a
job after maternity leave? How should I approach my job search?
You may like to try freelance model - working from home.
You could work as a freelance content writer (will pay you more) or write
books/stories/novels/e-books (will pay you less), the opportunities for which
are ample at various job and freelance portals.
117. My brother is in std. 9. How should I prepare him for his boards and
know what is his future interest of study? He is confused himself and
wants me to guide him. He is good in studies. He is studying with CBSE
board. Could you please help to guide him?
It is a cause of worry that your brother is confused. Confusion is often the
source of wrong decisions in life.
Help your brother unwind. May be he is into too much of studying or too much
of fun and frolicking.
Either case, he needs to spend some time everyday with himself and the family
in a productive manner. He should read a variety of topics over and above the
school curriculum to broaden his horizons and he should write a daily diary to
express his thoughts/feelings.
Once he does this for around a couple of months, the confusion will be gone
and he will have a better clarity of his purpose, talent, interest and passion
areas.
The point is, your brother can only himself answer the best what it is that he
loves to do and build a stupendous career later on in. And he deserves at least
that much of space for his life's sake. All of us can at best facilitate his self
exploration to this effect, nothing more.
118. Should one quit a full-time job to work from home?
Yes, why not!
In case you feel more comfortable working from home and you can also ensure
that you/your family don't suffer from any financial burden as a result, please
go ahead :)
Note - I work from home too, and I too had quit a full-time job. However, then
I also endured temporary financial burden (risk) as a result. Nonetheless, I am
reaping benefits now that are better than a full time job :)
119. I hate it when somebody doesn't reply me after seeing the message.
Do I need to feel bad about this?
NO.
You are responsible for your actions and others are responsible for their
actions.
You are not supposed to feel bad or offended when someone makes a choice
of delaying an interaction, or choosing to not interact with you at all.
I suggest you stay engrossed in your business and forget about such people,
unless they come back to you. In case they do, welcome them back. That's
what people with big hearts do.
120. If reading (novels, plays, biographies, poems etc.) is my passion then
what career options do I have which pay well?
You may consider building career as a 'professional reviewer' of writing works.
You would need to research more to understand how a professional reviewer
works. In my knowledge, they charge authors/publishers for reviewing their
books and their reputation largely determines what rates they can charge.
Another option is that of building a career as an editor/proof-reader.
121. Can a timid, un-assertive people-pleaser be a good manager? Wouldn't
employees be inclined to pay more attention and put more effort into
doing what a more intimidating manager tells them to do?
Wrong!
A people-pleaser can only achieve utter failure and DOOM.
This is because such a person chooses not to stand for himself/herself and
what he/she truly believes in. He/she simply ignores his/her own beliefs and
principles and instead starts focusing on pleasing others, which is a highly
stupid thing to do.
Such a person can never be honest to himself/herself and chooses not to learn
and grow in life.
Instead, people should be confident, accepting and proud of who they really
are, while endeavouring to learn, work productively and grow on a daily basis.
122. How do I became successfully without having talent (only have hard
work)?
Everyone has at least one talent that is unique to him/her always.
It's just that we are, at some point, not able to realize/feel that talent owing to
our inappropriate social conditioning and faulty self management.
Here are some tips, following which on a daily basis for about one month will
make you realize your talent:
1. Try to become a happier version of your own self. Start by loving and taking
more care of yourself. Spend as much time as possible with people who love
you and care for you the most, and the rest of your time in solitude, writing the
first feeling/thought that comes to you on a daily basis, in a personal diary of
yours.
2. Stop doubting yourself completely and take all your thoughts very lightly
and casually. Instead, focus on your feelings as they are the true reflection of
one self. Find a suitable avenue to express your true, honest feelings often,
which could be writing in your personal diary, you talking to yourself in the
mirror, or you talking to a loved one (your trustworthy confidante). I would
recommend writing in the diary as the best option.
3. Try to stay productive and busy in whatever activity you feel like doing. It
could be gardening, cycling, reading, yoga, meditation, enjoying music or a
combination of these. Just make sure when you are doing anything, be 100%
engrossed in that activity and see it to completion. When you feel tired or feel
the need for rest, then take adequate, full rest before resuming for some other
task. Enjoy your rest 100% just like any other task you do.
4. Learn to be content and happy in what you already have. Learn to
appreciate the simple, small, little truths and things of your life. Be simple and
always be honest to yourself. Understand that you NEVER need to prove a
point to anyone except yourself in life. Try to be neither complacent nor
overtly ambitious about your current endeavours. Try to strike a fine balance
between complacency and ambition and maintain that balance.
5. Do and learn at least one new, different thing everyday. Understand that
learning never stops and develop learning into a continuous process for
yourself. Stay simple, cool, calm, open-minded, observant and relaxed as far as
possible. Practice deep relaxation (including sleep and rest) often in between
bouts of productive work. Understand and believe that you are able to connect
to your conscience/gut feel/inner voice/intuition and listen to it very clearly.
6. Your conscience will communicate your talent to you. Listen to it intently :)
Meanwhile, keep taking out time to enjoy life with your loved ones. Smile
often, have fun, be cheerful and laugh as much as possible.
Life, after all, is neither meant to typecast yourself as hard worker only, nor to
take yourself too seriously :)
123. Which is the best way for a mechanical fresher to earn Rs.100000 a
month salary?
In India, a mechanical fresher can begin at 1L PM only when:
1. You are from IIT or a similar premier institute and a top notch MNC hires you
for such a package.
2. Doing your own business - even then the 1L a month income is not
guaranteed. It is possible through meticulous planning at your end. You would
need a business model, a product, a timeline, the funds and other resources
and of course, all of this is going to take you at least one year and a LOT OF risk
of failure, in case you are starting today.
See for yourself where you fit.
124. I'm in class 12th
commerce right now and after this year I have to
decide where I want to take my life. However, I'm so confused.
Sometimes I think of pursuing CA apart from my graduation and
sometimes something else. All I know right now is that I want a good
income and then I want to develop my own business. So what should I
do?
1. Don't go abroad. It will fetch you nothing except burning huge amount of
family money (or education loan, which is even worse) as your college fees and
relocation expenses.
2. Pursue BBA and then MBA in India (as you want to pursue your own
business in the future). Try to get a good college for your BBA and MBA both.
3. Don't do CA. It will make a geek instead of a businessman out of you and will
not be worth it. BBA + MBA is sufficient.
4. Apart from BBA and MBA, use your spare time to learn how to start a
business, what you are really good at (pursuing your talent is the best way to
do your business). Learn and collect as much information as possible in your
spare time and also, read a lot of business books and get in the habit of writing
a daily diary. Read business newspapers and magazines and do research on the
currently prevalent start-up/entrepreneurship revolution in India.
5. Please understand that the business you will be doing in future will depend
more on your learning as well as answering the following questions, than
academic knowledge or qualifications per se:
1) Who am I? - Knowledge about yourself
2) Where have I been? - What you have done in your past shapes up your
present and what you do in your present shapes up your future (your
upbringing, family background etc.)
3) Who do I hang out with? - Your immediate home environment, friend circle,
daily routine and social network.
I am myself a businessman. You can choose to stay in touch with me and I will
share with you how could I manage to start a business of my own.
It's still a long way to go for you. Be open; keep learning and all the best!
125. How do I become a millionaire before the age of 30?
Those who became a millionaire before the age of 30, first of all, never thought
too much about money or becoming a millionaire.
Such people focus on learning continuously, developing themselves and
staying honest to their true feelings.
This helps them to be more self-aware and realize their talent/passion.
Once they reach this stage, they simply pursue their passion happily, and who
can stop a sincere and consistently focused person from delivering excellent
business results? :)
126. My mother in law is a drama queen she cries and leaves the house over
tiny little things. What should I do?
You need to take a stand.
Don't allow yourself to get too much affected when another person is getting
emotional. You can offer help to that person, but that's the best you can do.
You always need to draw and protect your personal space.
If the other person is simply not willing to take your help or to listen to you,
trust me you can't do anything, except to ignore all of this completely and
focus on yourself and your daily routine.
127. What can be the reason behind lack of self confidence in any person?
The reason is – people who lack self-confidence doubt themselves, their
abilities and they think too much over it.
As a result, they become unproductive in their daily routine. Soon this
develops into a bad habit and they keep losing more and more confidence.
The remedy in such a case is to realize that every day is a new beginning for
you. Past is not important. Present is the most important. And future must be
planned sometimes.
Those who think too much and doubt themselves, tend to get trapped in the
thoughts of their past and forget to enjoy the present, which gets wasted and
passes by.
On the other hand, those who stay honest to themselves, prove a point only to
themselves and not anyone else, stay happy in what they have, keep
themselves busy and productive and keep learning something new everyday,
see a rise in their self-confidence.
128. I am student of 12th
class and I got 65 % in previous year exam. Now
this year I am trying for improvement. What is a good way to get the best
marks in PCM?
Have confidence in yourself. Believe that you can learn more and fetch better
marks.
Focus on learning while you study. No need to think about the marks because
if you learn your subjects and chapters well, confidence and marks will follow
automatically.
Meanwhile, do take time out to enjoy through sports and other hobbies that
you like to pursue, a healthy diet and spending time with family. This will
develop more interest and focus inside you towards your studies and learning.
129. As I'm new to blogging, I have doubt in mind, "Do top bloggers have
time to enjoy daily life, especially when they are very busy with services,
products, consultancy etc."?
Yes, they do have ample time to enjoy their daily life and in all probability they
enjoy life more than you and I do.
Reason, they enjoy it to the core when they write those high quality, creative,
amazing, treat-to-read blogs. They work very productively, probably more
productively than you and I do, and therefore, they LEARN something new
every time they research and write blogs. And the joy of learning is so
immense that I doubt if anything apart from true love and true service to
humanity can match that joy.
The point is, they don't discriminate writing blogs as different from enjoying
their lives. While they would have a family, friend circle etc. to enjoy their life,
blogging also means a personal passion to them which they enjoy equally, if
not more.
Hope I am clear :)
130. Why am I so slow in deciding and communicating?
You are not able to be spontaneous. And that's because you are very much out
of your comfort zone right now!
People get out of their comfort zones when they feel too much pushed by
others, when others end up influencing and controlling their daily lives instead
of themselves.
To get your decision making and communication ability back, you need to be
YOURSELF and not try to focus too much on meeting others' expectations from
you. Understand that it's your life and you are the sole king/queen of your life.
If it isn't so, it's a big problem then.
Learn to relax and keep calm. Stop thinking about yourself in case you are
doing so. Instead, try to be happier. Love yourself and take care of yourself by
taking adequate diet and rest and by keeping yourself busy and productive by
doing what you love to do. Spend your time only with people who love you and
care for you. Learn at least one new thing everyday, always be honest to
yourself and help at least one needy person everyday.
Understand that to help others, you need to help yourself first.
These suggestions would help you regain your comfort zone to a sufficient
extent so you begin to steer your daily life in the direction YOU want and not
where others want you to steer. Decision making and communication abilities
will follow automatically.
131. Is it really necessary to care what others think about us?
Not at all! We only need to care about what we feel about ourselves.
Irrespective of whether society acts as our well-wisher or bad-wisher, it's the
SELF that must always be prioritized.
People who only keep following others' advice, trying to keep everyone happy
but themselves, are naturally bound to meet utter failure in their lives.
It's only our conscience, our inner voice, our intuition and sensing abilities that
can steer us towards our goal successfully in life. Nothing else can do that!
We can AT BEST learn from others, but that's where the limit ends. The
decisions of our life must always be our own!
132. What should a person choose between love and career?
Love, because when you love truly, career automatically falls into place (mark
my words - only when you love truly)
The vice versa is seldom true. Career pursuit would hardly get you true love, or
let you devote time to it/let you work towards the relationship.
Looking at it another way, family is more important than career.
Because you pursue your career to sustain your loving family and never vice
versa.
A level deeper, true love connects you with yourself and your talent/passion. It
sets you free from office politics and conspiracies etc.
Without love, true career is not possible. What happens instead is a direction-
less pursuit of going to office everyday, coming back to home and sleeping off,
only to restart the next day. Without love, you just cannot find your purpose in
life.
Even people who stay single all through their lives, learn to love themselves if
not anyone else. That's how they discover their potential and pursue their
talent with passion.
To conclude, Love must be chosen, preferred and prioritized ALWAYS over
career!
133. What is the proper response when I have a start date that is next week
but I just got another offer?
Maintaining full transparency with every stakeholder involved with you will
help.
Just be clear on what you want to pursue and where you want to go. Once you
are convinced upon your choice, communicating the same across remains
more of a formality.
Stand by what you need for yourself, irrespective of how much pressure or
lamentation comes from the other side, because you will, later on, be able to
work happily only where your heart wants you to go.
134. What is the best way to keep energized instead of quickly running out
of energy?
Learning something new everyday by staying productive is the best way to
keep yourself energized.
Sometimes we do a lot of hard work however we still feel out of energy. That
happens when we are working against our will.
When we learn to understand the self in finer nuances, we are able to manage
ourselves and therefore our happiness and energy levels, more effectively.
To conclude, learning/productivity AND self-management, when they go hand-
in-hand, make for a good recipe/combination of factors to manage your energy
levels, to begin with.
135. Can I say "every of" instead of "everyone of"?
NO.
You can say "each of" though.
"Every of" doesn't exist in English language.
136. I am trying to make a GF but it’s not happening. What should I do?
Never mind!
Love yourself, be yourself and stay happy with what you have.
Don't try to push. Let new things and people come to your life on their own.
That way you will certainly get authentic things and authentic people in your
life :)
137. Where lays the limit between confidence and over confidence?
1.
Question - How are you doing?
Confident Answer - I'm doing great, Thank you :)
Over confident answer - Doing great as always!
2.
Question - What should I do in life?
Confident Answer - Do what your heart beats for!
Over-confident response - You don't even know what you want to do in life!
3.
Question - I am 25 and I don't have a girlfriend. What should I do :(?
Confident Answer - Never mind, be happy :)
Over-confident response (with a dash of arrogance) - You don't even have a
girlfriend! You are a hopeless case. Seriously, dude!
138. What are some good answers to "Which one do you prefer – Smart
work or hard work"?
Smart work, because before learning smart work you have to learn hard work.
Thus, a smart worker can do both smart and hard work as required, while a
hard worker can only do hard work.
139. I am 24 but still immature and childish. My girlfriend likes me but she
once hinted that she'd prefer a manlier and mature boy. How do I
become mature? (I am very asocial).
WHY do you want to become someone other than yourself, my friend?
There is absolutely no need to 'become' mature to prove a point to your
girlfriend or anyone else for that matter.
Be proud of who you ARE. Keep learning and growing in life, however only
those people who accept you the way you ARE, are your real well-wishers.
You never need to prove a point to ANYONE in your life, except yourself, my
friend.
140. When I tell my goal to people, they are calling me crazy, because till
now I was a loser. How do I overcome this?
Let all of those people go to hell. They are acting crazy while you are acting
wise and brave.
Just pursue your goal with full conviction and determination.
Ensure you keep learning something new everyday and keep proceeding step
by step towards your goal everyday.
Seek help if required, but make it a promise to yourself to never ever accept
defeat to the hurdles towards your goal.
Once you have decided to pursue your goal, there must be no looking back.
All the best :)
141. Is it necessary for a person to change if he is positive in his life and
doesn't see any negative qualities in any person, especially girls?
Not necessary and not desirable.
Be who you are and be proud of whom you are.
Never change for someone else's sake.
Change only through learning on your path of self-growth, so you can enlighten
others as well who happen to follow you and look up to you for guidance in
life.
142. We are attracted to someone so deeply and even I know he can't be
mine. In that case why do we become so damn weak?
No, you don't become weak once you understand this:
Your love is not the one you love. You are not the love of the one who loves
you.
Your love is the one who loves you. You are the love of the one you love.
Understand that if you love someone, you become the lover of that person and
not vice versa. Whether the other person loves you back or not, is entirely his
choice. You are not supposed to do anything about it.
Therefore, loving someone truly should make you happy.
143. Everything is vibration? Is that true?
YES.
Science has proven the dual nature of matter - wave as well as particle.
Read more at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wave-particle_duality
144. What are the other ways can we do to get rain rather than growing up
trees?
1. Reduce pollution
2. More rain water harvesting
3. Saving our rivers and water bodies
4. Saving ground water levels from depleting
5. Saving the glaciers and the ice caps
145. How one can get himself/herself better in HR field? I mean which
qualities and skills one need to be a successful HR professional?
1. Empathy - ability to understand other's perspective and think from their
viewpoint
2. Emotional intelligence - understands self and others' emotions and manages
them effectively
3. Leadership potential - Good HRs are good learners because they create
potential for themselves to grow everyday.
4. Great self-management - Good HRs have great personality, communication
and are highly approachable (they smile and laugh very often and stay honest
to their emotions)
5. Professionalism - Good HRs serve their duty to maintain an employee
engaging work environment and ensure their employees remain happy and
productive
6. Equality and parity - Good HRs ensure fair recruitment and appraisal
processes as much as possible and don't hesitate from taking a stand against
the majority too if required
7. Ethical - Good HRs can distinguish the ethical from the unethical and
reward/punish accordingly. They ensure that the values of the organization are
implemented in letter as well as spirit and also that the employees' personal
rights are not infringed upon by their bosses or anyone.
146. I lost my love. I didn't get what was my mistake. For what am I getting
so big a punishment?
Please don't say that YOU lost your love.
Your love is still with you. Isn't it? Correct me if I am wrong.
It's the other person who lost the love. It's his/her loss and not yours.
"You are the love of the one you love. Your love is the one who loves you."
She/he never loved you. So he/she was never your love.
You always loved him/her. So you will always be his/her love.
Even she/he cannot snatch this fact away from you that YOU WILL ALWAYS BE
HIS/HER LOVE.
99% people misunderstand love and go into depression.
I hope this answer helps clarify love to readers and save all of us from
depressions created due to grave misunderstanding of the concept of love.
147. What sport can I pick up from scratch at 24 yrs of age?
Athletics (Running) or Cycling.
Both are easy to learn and burn maximum calories.
They also don't need you to look for players.
They don't need much equipment or upfront cost either.
30 minutes a day and you are done with them to have a great day ahead :)
148. Why do companies ask for full-time MBA for positions where they
require 10-12 years of experience?
You are right. There are a lot of conspiracies playing out in the corporate
market.
What I have done is, if the corporate recruitment can't be fair, I will create my
own career without depending on anyone else.
I am an MBA HR from a premium B-school and still able to relate to the validity
of your point.
After 6 years of work-ex, today I am a professional writing consultant, an
independent, self-employed professional who simply pursues his passion.
If all of us start believing in ourselves and begin pursuing our respective
passions, the corporate world will automatically learn the lesson they should
have learnt long back, as no one would like to work under their bossiness and
unfair structures.

My Answers to Quora FAQs - Amit Ahlawat

  • 1.
  • 2. THE QUEST FOR LEARNING
  • 3. 1. Is that true those who don’t share their feelings to others openly care the most? Good question. The answer is - False. Everyone has a different personality and therefore a different manner of expressing love and care. Every one shares their feelings of love, care and empathy in their own natural style. A mother shares love and care to her children by words as well as actions. A father shares love and care to his children more often through actions. A friend or sibling trying to cheer you up shares love and care through his funny antics. Etc. Sometimes it depends upon the situation as well. For example, celebrations, condolences, health issue, all demand a different approach to express love and care. That's where 'maturity' comes in. This is what learning and emotional intelligence is all about. To conclude, love and care is best expressed in the manner which our heart/conscience/inner voice (our first, spontaneous, natural response) recommends (we should precisely say or do the same, without thinking or fearing whether it will be right or wrong. If we face a doubt, we can always express our feeling as a question). We should just go actively with the flow without thinking about our manner of expression and should have strong self- belief in our external personality, while remaining open and humble enough to admit inadvertent mistakes, if any, and seeking ways to improve upon them. To err and learn is human. To live and embrace every moment to the fullest is also human. Both the aspects need to go in tandem. Hope this clears the picture :)
  • 4. 2. How I can change myself without saying that the world should change? When you change yourself, the world automatically changes for you. The best way to change your self is to change gradually by learning. Therefore, get into the habit of learning at least one new thing every day. 3. Which are some biology-related career courses other than medical? Here are a few: 1. Bio-Technology 2. Ecology 3. Wildlife conservation expert 4. Marine-life conservation expert 5. Environmental Science 6. Floral expert 7. Bonsai expert 8. Nature Traveller/Blogger 9. Agricultural Scientist 10. Fishery expert
  • 5. 4. What should I do when I feel depressed? If you feel depressed often, try to sense or introspect what it is that is causing frequent depression. It could be a need of yours that is not being fulfilled, an environment where your personal space is not being respected, or some other reason is also possible. Try to be happy and stay productive in what you love to do. I am assuming you love to travel out and meeting new people. Do that more often. Read some good books and articles and write your deep feelings out on a daily basis. Also understand that life is not meant to be taken seriously. Life is never fair, so it's best to laugh it off :) 5. How do I talk comfortably to girls without getting screwed up or boned up? Try to be open, genuine and upfront. Also remember that you never ever need to impress anyone. It's an exercise always resulting into futility. You never need to talk to a girl just for the sake of talking to a girl. Acknowledge the fact that girls are as humane as boys are. The next time you talk to a girl, be composed and relaxed, SMILE, maintain a healthy EYE CONTACT and then talk. Also, try to be positive, cordial and professional in your body language. Don't leave either your smile or your eye contact till the end of conversation at any cost. Listen keenly and respond confidently. I am sure the conversations will result in WIN-WIN situation.
  • 6. 6. I am 24 and unmarried, working in an MNC company. Can I adopt a less than 1 year old male child? I don't know what the law says about this, my friend. However, please do accept my compliments for taking the first step towards a socially responsible behaviour! Very few at your age, myself excluded, have even bothered to think in this direction. Had I been in your place, I would have done what my heart would have told me to do - Yes, please do it! Though it takes sheer courage for a 24-year old working young man to adopt and raise an infant, I would say go for it (as long as your family is ready to support you), keeping in mind the fact that raising the kid is going to be a lot demanding and challenging, but would always be more than worth the effort. His smile would refill you with renewed energy and vigour every evening you return from office. In fact, he would become the very reason for you to rush back home every day! Some considerations for the baby's well-being: 1. The baby would need love. If you are working in office, you must have a family to take care of the baby, especially someone who can provide motherly love and care to the kid, at least in your absence. 2. The baby's diet, safety, learning, play, nurturing and growing up would definitely need a specialist mother to take care of all his needs. Babies demand a lot of time and be ready to give the same to the baby along with all your family members. 3. Your baby could sometimes accompany you to office (some organizations do allow that, however you would need to check beforehand) :) Keep me informed, friend!
  • 7. 7. How do I make excellent notes (just tell me stepwise or by giving me an example of English honours course)? I am not an expert in making notes, but from what I know, a personalized approach that suits your style of learning is the best to make individual notes. In my opinion, notes must be crisp and short. They should be able to skim out the salient points of the lesson and should be handy enough to give those broad points that together form the dots, which when joined, give the macro picture of the topic/lesson. To conclude, the lesser the better. The simpler the better. 8. I am a 4-pointer IIT B.Tech graduate. I am on medication for depression and on the verge of giving up. How do I get a job using my degree? You are a similar case as me, my friend :) I too am on medication for extreme depression for the past 6 years and have been on the verge of giving up multiple times. I earn a paltry salary and have failed in more than 1000 interviews in my lifetime (That also means I broke Thomas Edison's records of 1000 failures before he invented electric bulb). I am hanging on to my writing job with both hands and enjoy the work, the people and the environment. I consider my current job a gift and express gratitude everyday for the fact that I am still alive and happily bubbling with energy :) My 2 cents for you - Life is very, very, very simple. Life just means to be happy, love yourself infinitely (and only after that, others) and stay productive in what you do (no matter what the activity is, only that you must love to do it). You never need to prove a point to anyone in life but yourself. So, job or no job, just chill :)
  • 8. Yes, it's a bitter truth that life is never fair and people such as we are experiencing this truth at a somewhat early stage of life. But there lies the blessing in disguise - you are a lot wiser than the others around you, because your experience has been unique and that is what is one of your biggest strength - YOU ARE DIFFERENT. Assess whether you really feel like doing a job right now, or would like to spend some time in solitude and with family, trying to be happier, may be writing a book if you feel like, before you set out to grab a job. As and when, I would also suggest you to share your medical history and treatment details with your prospective employers during interview stage itself. What keeps me going is the quest to learn continuously and stay happy in the small, little, simple things of life that are given to us to be valued as precious gifts. Depression can snatch away your personality, soft skills, confidence, grit, self- esteem and what not, but it can NEVER snatch away your 1) Talent 2) Skill 3) Courage. Depression is nothing but a mistake which makes us more human and gives so huge an opportunity to learn that we can't thank everyone and ourselves enough for it. Take one step at a time, buddy. Relax, keep cool, keep calm and just do your best and leave the rest. Result is something which is never in our control, so no point getting anxious over whether or not you will get the profile and the package you deserve. Just keep moving, one step at a time, and try to enjoy this journey of life to the fullest. Keep in touch and message me on quora in case and whenever you feel like. I am there for you :) 9. How do I become a self motivated person? Do what makes you happy and learn at least one new thing every day.
  • 9. Stay productive in whatever you do. It means do your task 100% (including when you sleep/take rest). Else, if you don't feel like doing that work or being in that situation, be 0% involved in it. Stay more often with people who love you unconditionally and who are more learned than you. Help at least one needy person every day. Volunteer in some social activity or health activity if possible. 10. I'm 20 years old girl, who loves to act/sing/dance. I want to inspire people, but I often feel I don't have it in me. There are so many you- tubers, actors and singers who work so hard yet they are not where they deserve to be. So many people who follow their passion don't get enough success, which makes me doubt my own ability and future. The field of entertainment is so competitive and there are already millions who want to be in it. Are there rooms for beginners? How do I stop fearing? I don't want to give up my dreams. But the fact that only a few reach the top scares me. I don't want to be good, I want to be GREAT. Am I aiming too high? Why do I feel I'll never be able to make it large in life? You have to inspire and motivate yourself before you can think of doing that to others. This is because to love others we need to love ourselves first and stay happy always. No need to prove a point to anyone in life but yourself. And results are something that are never guaranteed and are never in our hands. We can only do happily what we love to do. We can try our level best to try and enjoy what we love to do, but that's where our limits end. Life is never fair, the earlier you learn and accept this lesson, the happier you will stay.
  • 10. 11. Is it wrong to dream something beyond your capabilities? Not at all! Just make sure you convert your dream to a goal by making it S.M.A.R.T - Simple, Measurable, Actionable, Realistic and Time bound. You might see yourself on the top of Mount Everest in your dream, and so you would need to write your dream, daily and repeatedly on a piece of paper, specifying within how much time you see yourself up there, what will be your modus operandi and what is the level of physical fitness and mental agility you would need, etc. 12. I'm badly troubled in my life after getting kicked out of college for bunking repeatedly as I was caught and now my parents & teachers have told me to stop going to college and do whatever I want :( Reason: I bunked college for my blogging. I do overnight blogging and don’t have a proper sleep for days together. So when I go to college I would sleep during lectures and the lecturers would scold me badly. I started bunking, got caught and now got the freedom to do blogging. But it seems like my studies have got spoiled. Also, presently I'm in a very bad situation as my internet balance is going to end. I don’t have money in pocket to pay so that I can continue to blog. :( Please let know what I should do now! You love blogging, that's great to know! You bunked college so much to pursue your passion, that's even greater to know. What it is that you have potential to blog about in the near future, I'm thrilled to the core to imagine! Do you realize my friend, whose lines are you living your life on? Let me tell you. It's: 1. Bill Gates, Founder of Microsoft Inc.
  • 11. 2. Steve Jobs, Founder of Apple Inc. Both of them pretty much did what you have done, and for precisely the same reason - to pursue in blind faith and love what they really, really loved to do. Consider yourself fortunate, my friend, that you know you want to become the best blogger ever, for almost everyone don't even get to know all their lives who is it that they want to become. So, please consider this opportunity as a blessing in disguise and make the most out of it. For example, start writing blogs as a professional and get paid for it. Some world famous blogs for you to get started: The Best Travel Guide and Magazine Condé Nast Traveller India | Travel Ideas, Vacation, Holidays, News, Deals, City Guides, India, Luxury Travel, Premium Destinations All the best! 13. I am 17. I don't cry on someone’s death, neither do I feel like celebrating my birthday. When boys of my age are swiping right on tinder or flirting with someone, I am not able to talk to any girl (I am straight) or a stranger, barring my friends or family. Everything in my childhood was normal, my parents. I didn't face any kind of abuse. Is there any problem with me? Not at all! As long as you are happy, you are absolutely fine. Stay happy and blessed!
  • 12. 14. I have 9 years experience in Construction, Planning and Costing Field. Also, I completed my B.E and MBA (Project management). How do I get to the top management job? Do I have to study or gain more experience? There are only 2 ways to get to the top management level: 1. Starting your own venture/business 2. Develop holistic learning and understanding of your field, network as much as possible and align your career goals and consistent performance intricately with your business/people/industry Method 1 makes you the leader by default and is tougher. Method 2 is convoluted, often marred by politics and is pursued by majority who hold such an ambition. There is no guarantee here that you will make it to top management. Neither qualification nor experience will take you there, but your determination and passion will. 15. My friend tells me I am selfish and that I think only about me. However I just do things that come to my mind. Am I not normal? Ignore your friend's observation and just accept and respect yourself the way you are. Understand that it's only his opinion about you and it seems to be false and baseless. Your own view about yourself is what should matter to you. Some people may say something good about you, others may say something bad about you. Simply ignore the comments of ALL OF THEM. As long as you are happy with yourself, YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY NORMAL.
  • 13. 16. I have changed my work location to another state and been feeling depressed and lonely since then (more than a year). I am not able to get over it and not able to make friends around either. What should I do to get over it and to be able to enjoy my life? What is the best thing to do in order to get away from depression and loneliness? Prioritize your happiness over anything else, always. It's important that you stay happy and in a reasonable comfort zone. Set all your priorities and decisions accordingly. It could well mean moving back to your hometown and family. 17. I'm not a very smart girl. I learn very slowly. In my high school maths and science classes, I was the student who used to be like, "Uhhhh........I don't get it" after the teacher finished explaining a new concept to the class. I had to come into tutorials, ask my friends for help, and spend extra time studying to ace my classes. This is how I managed to graduate high school with a GPA of 3.88. I'm not very proud of it though, because I know GPA doesn't mean much when it comes to one's level of intelligence. Will I be able to succeed in terms of work/career? I'm almost done with college (graduating next summer). I have a near-perfect GPA (only because I tried extremely hard), yet I feel like no one's going to want to hire me. I lack confidence, because I feel like it's going to take me forever to learn actual real-world work. What if they fire me for learning so slowly? Do I have a chance at success in the real world? You are so serious about your future career from now itself, I am more than sure that you will do wonders. Just ensure that you start taking the world less seriously and believe more in yourself. Believe in yourself so much that there is no looking back ever. Stay light-hearted, light-minded, relaxed, calm, composed and try to stay happy in the small little things of life which you value as life's most beautiful gifts to you (such as your health, family, friends, knowledge etc.). Ensuring your
  • 14. happiness is the most important need for you right now and you need to focus on that at any cost. Life is very, very simple. You already know what you know and also what you don't know, don't you? And you never need to prove a point to anyone in life but yourself. Then why all the anxiety and/or stress about the future. Just enjoy your present to the fullest and future will automatically take care of itself :) 18. What does it feel to be low scorer in class? It feels simply amazing, because you learn this important lesson of life so early - You never need to prove a point to anyone but yourself. I had always been a class topper in school and college. This topper status ended up becoming my liability instead of an asset later on, when I was diagnosed with acute schizophrenia like psychosis, as a result of ignoring my happy self and getting into depression with too much of stress and loneliness. Result - I still take medicines and earn a paltry package which is not enough to sustain myself and family, even after 6 years of experience and doing B.Tech and MBA from top-notch colleges before that. Moral of the story - Be open to life and never doubt yourself. Excess of everything is bad in life, including studies, because you tend to miss out on other important aspects of life such as relationships, confidence, health, social skills etc. which are much, much more important than academic knowledge. Therefore, you need to develop yourself in an all-round manner by taking time out to enjoy, relax, take good care of yourself and learn and do only what you want to and definitely not what somebody else tries to push upon you.
  • 15. 19. What is scope of rural management in India? It depends upon you to quite an extent. I have seen people from top rural management institutes such as IRMA, Anand who have joined the corporate world instead of venturing into rural management. This means rural work is not a very hot pursuit among such professionals. This presents an opportunity in front of you, especially if you are really keen to make a mark in rural work. You will have to go about in a systematic, long term manner though; meeting rural authorities, people etc., doing research and identifying the pain areas of the rural area where you want to bring a difference. 20. I am a last year Engineering student from Pune University. I come from a village and my house is located outside the village, so I felt I was a little immature and that my personality was pale. I came to Pune to improve my personality but there's no considerable improvement. I feel regretful and depressed. I want to improve myself. My college life is going to end in six months. I want to improve myself. I want to become mature and improve in communication skills and my thoughts. What should I do? You need to accept yourself the way you are, to begin with. Desiring an improvement in personality is good, however please understand that it is a slow and gradual process and will not happen overnight. Therefore, no need to feel depressed, otherwise it will damage your personality instead of improving. Keep learning new things every day, stay relaxed and be happy in the simple, little gifts of your life such as health, family, friends, knowledge, etc. to begin with.
  • 16. 21. I have done my masters from IIT-B in renewable energy. I am interested in research. Currently I have been working in an MNC for the past two years which is one of the world's top ten construction consultants. I am not satisfied with my job profile. Is it a good decision to leave my current job in Pune which pays me a decent salary INR (~60k/pm) for a start-up in Mumbai which pays considerably less INR(~40k/pm), but provides more learning opportunity and later on hope to start my own company? Or should I look towards PhD? I am getting married on Jan 16. A correction in profile should be done only when package does not get reduced. PhD may help in learning, but it will bog you down financially, so not recommended. Therefore, please continue in your current job, unless you get an opportunity that pays you higher. This stability is also important since you are about to get married. 22. With the passage of time I have realized that I am becoming short- tempered and stubborn. How can I overcome this? It's ok to be short-tempered and/or stubborn at times. Sometimes our temper and stubborn behaviour help us stand for ourselves, our principles and our loved ones. What you need to question yourself right now is - Am I happy the way I am? If yes, EVERYTHING is fine. If no, you need to try everything you can to be happy. 23. How can I get things (that I want to get) easily in my life? It's never guaranteed that you will indeed get what you want in life. However, you can always try your best and HAVE TO leave the rest. Sorry, but life is never fair and the sooner we accept this, the happier we stay!

Which are the best KPO/BPO companies to work with in India? None! Working in KPO/BPO industry is a sheer waste of your potential. I am writing this from first-hand experience and can easily tell you that all your time spent in any such organization will be nothing but a waste. 26. Rowdy behaviour with women and peace-loving people, taking the excuse of occasion such as festival, strike, party, procession etc. 28. Could you get chucked out of Quora if you sledge someone? I don't think so. In the first place, Quora does have methods so you can block anyone who is trying to sledge you. You can report that person to Quora team as well. Of course, if someone is doing this intentionally, really too much and with too many, he is paving his way to get out of the forum. 29. • 19. 30. How is job demand for geologist in India? Geological Society of India Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology, Dehradun, Uttarakhand (INDIA) Indian Society of Engineering Geology I googled with the keyword 'Geology India' and got the above-specified results. Seems that geology is a niche field in India, where talent demand is not met by the availability of sufficient, quality resources. You would need to research more to arrive at your answer, because in geology you can pursue an academic, research or industry career. 31. What should one do when everything he tries to do right goes wrong? Stop worrying about the result to start with. It's our desires and expectations to get something in return for our efforts that always play the spoilsport. We have to learn to work without worrying about the result, in case we want to lead a happy, simple and peaceful life, which is desirable. 32. How do you handle life when things don't happen the way you want them to happen although you are very willing to bring changes in your life? We can only act according to our conscience. The result of our action is never in our hands. Understand that your self-satisfaction lies in a sincere pursuit of your actions. Result is something we can observe at best, or even choose to remain indifferent towards. For example, I am B.Tech and MBA both from top-notch colleges of India. I don't even earn 50K a month even after 6 years of experience. The point is, I have always given my best and will continue to do so, irrespective of how high or how low the world gives back.
  • 20. I donate a formidable share of my monthly income to NGOs. I do it without desiring for anything in return. I have been staying happy this way, then why can't you! Life is all about learning and giving. Life hardly has a meaning in the desire to 'get' something, whether in return or otherwise. 33. What would be most appropriate decision after BE in Electronics and Communications and 1.5 yrs of experience (Testing Domain) in an IT firm - switching company or MS or MBA? Switching company, any day; MS or MBA never guarantees a hike in package, switching does. 34. My process of learning is slow. What should I do? I am a B.Tech 2nd year student. Be open. Be relaxed. Be simple. Be observant. There is nothing wrong going on. You just need to calm down your mind and follow your inner voice - the voice of your heart/conscience. You will yourself realize the way to learn and it will get faster with time. 35. How degree can prove the capabilities of any person? It doesn't. What it does is to somewhat ensure that the student possesses the minimum or threshold capability/knowledge/competency in the field of graduation. Degrees are what the world looks at. • 21. 36. Why it is hard to find life's goal? To find your life's goal, you have to find your true self first. As finding your true self is difficult, therefore it follows that it is hard to find life's goal, though not impossible. 37. What questions should one ask to self to get success? 1. Who am I? - The purpose here is to generate your self-awareness. It brings you to the present. 2. Where have I been? - This answers what has made you who you are. It means learning from your past. 3. Who do I hang out with? - You need to be in company of those who are more learned than you, so that future becomes better than the present. 38. What is life? Life can't be defined. Where certainty ends, life begins. The best we can say is that life is the uncertainty and the adventure component of our existence. The purpose of life is to make sense out of this uncertainty and pursue a goal (which can be defined unlike life) and enjoy the journey while you are at it. We can either waste the time in our life or LIVE it. It's our choice :)
  • 22. 39. I am 20 and worried about my career choice. What should I do? For the last two years I have been preparing for designing but could not get into desired college. I returned to my hometown 6-7 months ago and thought of preparing on my own. As the days and months passed I started to feel lack of dedication and I am not even practicing anymore. To go further let me tell you that I live in a middle class joint family, my father is a Builder & Property Dealer and he is ready with me for any career I choose. I started to feel like joining my father's business and drop designing. My uncle owns an electronics shop and that is my second thought. My father also suggested me to open a mobile phone service centre (of a company) but I am less interested due to lack of knowledge. Now I am thinking to open a Dhaba (restaurant) on one of our property on highway with as minimum investment as possible. I am confused and frustrated. Please suggest something if I can do anything about above choice or something else. Whatever choice you make, make it keeping in mind how much it interests you over a long term. Make your choice such that you see yourself doing the same and getting better over it for at least 5 non-stop years. Opening a dhaba or food joint is a good choice. Just be sure that your reason to work through dhaba is strong enough to sustain for 5 years at least, because that's when real benefits from your endeavour will start to come. Your young age and energy is your biggest strength. If you can channelize it into running your dhaba well, nothing like it!
  • 23. 40. I have placed medical leave at my office to prepare for competitive exam. Am I doing the right thing? I have taken medical leave from work to prepare for some competitive exam which had always been my dream. When I started working 2 years back, as a fresher, at that time I thought I’ll be able to find some time out of my daily schedule to prepare for the exams. But I hardly used to find any because of my tight schedule (I had to work for about 13-14 hours a day most of the time, staying away from home so had to do all other works of mine myself). As a result I finally decided to go on medical leave to prepare for the exams (my parents are not allowing me to leave it). I am at home currently preparing for exams but many a time feel I am doing something very wrong by doing this, then at other times I think there is not much dependency of me at work so I should not worry much and concentrate on my studies. I am in a very confused state because of which I can't concentrate on studies many times. What should I do? I don't care much if I lose the job but still I can't stop thinking that I am doing something wrong. Kindly help!! Have you shared this need of yours with your manager/HR? Though it is not compulsory for you to do so, however it would make the proceedings much simpler and calm down your mind out of the confusion.
  • 24. 41. Why does this female employee get treated much better and what can I do about it? I have a female colleague, who just graduated from college, and my boss made her a manager of "customer success" and she makes more than I do just calling customers and asking if they are happy. I am much more experienced with better technical skills and education, but I feel just because she is an attractive woman she was given this job. Now she has been put in charge of asking people why they didn't finish tasks as quickly as desired, so she has been sending me messages asking "why haven't you finished X in Y days?" and so on, whereas several other employees are much slower to finish tasks and she doesn't hassle them. Does this sound fair? Is this the normal way businesses operate? Should I ignore her to help diminish her power? What can I do in this situation to reduce my stress? Favouritism and office politics are hallmarks of the corporate world. You need to take these 2 steps: 1. Be assertive and don't let her interruptions bother you at all. Be confident that you are completely independent in work and never need to be managed by someone, may be except your real boss. 2. Talk it out with your boss and let him know your opinion on the same. No need to feel bothered, even if she is made the CEO. Stay happy, contented and keep doing your good work.

  • 26. 10. Attrition and Exit Management 45. How should and why should I lead a happy life? What else would you want to do, my friend? Without happiness, you just can't do any sort of work effectively and/or efficiently. To be happy, you have to learn to relax deeply, stay productive in what you love to do the most, spend more time with people who love you, do and learn at least 1 new thing every day, value the people and the possessions you already have in your life and stay simple and just be who you are :) 46. What are the job prospects for a mechanical engineering student in India who gets his degree in 4.5 years? Same as someone who gets his degree in 4 years. Go by your interest and apply for a job matching your passion area, in a good company offering that job profile. 47. Being an engineering student, how can I help a child of class 8 who even don't know how to add 66 and 23? Be simple in your helping approach. Become very basic to understand the child's learning needs and connect with him to understand his learning needs as well as his interests. Begin with addition classes itself. You can of course teach addition and other basics of maths very well. Please don't think that it is something very, very basic. Focus on helping the child at any cost. I am sure it will work out. Be open and try to relate to the child's point of view as much as possible. 1%, if it still doesn't work out, politely get out of the situation.
  • 27. 48. How can I build my career? To build your career, you would first need to know what is your passion, what it is that to love to do the most and that gives you happiness. It could be something as simple as gardening, writing etc. to something bit complex such as data analysis or financial management. Once you know your passion, you need to find a way to develop it in to a professional skill that can add immense value to society. For that, you can build a CV and apply for a job in good companies providing career opportunities in the area of your passion. What next? Get, set and go :) 49. If a person is good for nothing and worthless, has he or she right to be alive? It is impossible that any person is born worthless. All of us are human beings and created absolutely equal by nature. Right to be alive? Are you kidding me? Of course every grown-up human has a right to his/her way of life - personal space, choices, preferences, fulfilling basic needs and develop social relations, a 'duty' to take charge of his/her life, keep learning, enjoy life and find one's purpose in society. Life is very simple, buddy. No need of such stray thoughts. Chillax :)
  • 28. 50. When would this life end? I am tired of struggling and really want to see the other side. Right now, you need to be with your family and loved ones, dear :) Every day in life is a new beginning. Sleep off for today and tomorrow will certainly be a better day. Believe. Believe in yourself, my friend! 51. I am working hard, why is it not helping me? You need a break from work! Before you think of doing hard work, make sure that you are happy. Happiness enables conversion of your capability into an effective execution. To be happy, you need to make your life simpler. Learn to relax deeply, don't stretch yourself excessively, take good care of your emotional health and temporarily cut down on your efforts. How can I stop procrastinating? Why do you think of laziness as something necessarily bad? Laziness is good in a way. • 29. 53. How should I tell my current employer (joined 1 month ago only) that I will not come tomorrow onwards? I got a good opportunity in other company. Mail them clearly stating the reason. They will call you back and then politely decline again. It will be over (remember that no one can force you to work against your free will). 54. How do I know what my interest is? To know what your real passion/interest/talent is, you need to keenly and consistently observe yourself and your daily routine of tasks. Our sub-conscious/hidden talent is nothing but what we like doing the most on a daily basis, but haven't quite recognized it as a marketable skill. It could be something as simple as gardening or something as deep as working with data. Techniques such as deep relaxation, meditation, conscious solitude and staying productive in what makes you happy (e.g., writing a daily diary on your deepest feelings and thoughts) can very well connect to your real/natural self. How do you become a good teacher? A good teacher is one who learns more and more by happily, voluntarily exchanging his/her knowledge, skills and traits with others who are looking for it. Teachers have a natural talent of teaching and co-learning. Those who have neither this talent nor the passion to build this interest are in all probability not going to make good teachers. Second aspect to being a teacher is the area of expertise. When you feel passionate about your subject, you will become an automatic authority of the subject and still keep learning in it. The biggest joy for a teacher is the joy of sharing :) 57. What will happen if you become a person with no emotions? You will become a roboid, strictly following others' commands. 58. Does planning your day help you improve your life? If so how? Planning means to explain to yourself how you are going to approach your short term goals (1 day - 1 year goals). For example, your goal is to get a job within 1 month. You narrow down to a couple of profiles, target some companies, check their openings and approach their recruiters. You also learn more about the business, the work culture and the job requirement of these profiles/companies and build a planner/calendar which tells you which interview is scheduled what day, when you should follow up, etc. Moreover, you also have a back-up 'plan' in case your master plan fails.
  • 31. All of this (the prepare-yourself-mentally process), when it hits your mind before you actually do it on a daily basis (and you building scenarios, possible outcomes and subsequent actions to be taken by you in your mind - a sort of decision tree), is nothing but your planning that is enabling you to approach your goal of bagging a dream job effectively. As life has no meaning without a goal and planning is your approach to proceed towards your then goal, it follows that planning brings sense to life more than anything else (except probably your world of emotions - you, your family, well-wishers and loved/loving ones, with whom you enjoy and share the journey towards your goal). 59. How do people stay in school for so long without holding a real job some times? Good question! • 34. 69. I badly want to settle in abroad. What should I do? I completed Engineering in 2014 and till now I don't have a steady income with a steady job. I am not a typical stereotype as the other people, who just carry with a dead end job working like a machine. I always have this desire to go abroad and settle there. But the thing is my family is financially very low and I own an educational loan of 4 lakhs yet to be paid to the bank. Even now, I cannot stay in a job for long. What should I do? In the current times, marketing is pursued in a highly manipulative, influential and sometimes even unethical manner. You are feeling guilty about it because either you are not happy doing marketing, or you are not yet ready to do marketing. It may also mean that you are not being allowed to do marketing the way you want to do. In marketing there is a push approach and there is a pull approach. The push approach is what is prevalent today. It means filling up all the empty spaces in everyone's life with brands, advertisements, billboards etc. Push reaps immediate benefit, however is harmful in the long run for most businesses and their brand worth. Pull is subtle however it gives the customer the real space to understand a product/brand/business and how s/he could stand benefited from the same. It means more of win-win marketing where customers get attracted to you because they see some real value in your business, your brand and your product. Business legends have been created through the leadership based pull approach to marketing.
  • 35. Today, sales and marketing professionals worry too much about completing immediate targets by hook or crook, without looking at the bigger picture. This is concerning and a possible explanation to why it makes you feel guilty. The solution for you is, do what makes you happy. It may or may not mean changing your career/profile. It could mean discussing your vibes with a senior leader in your company, preferably marketing top-notch, who has lived marketing all his/her life. Hope I got you some inputs :) 71. In India if my employer/boss refuses to give me leave (even though I asked a month before) can I sue him? If not, what can I do? I don't know whether you can sue him, however you definitely have equal rights as a human being. If they are your seniors, it doesn't mean they are superior to you in any way, especially when your genuine need for a personal leave is in question. You can follow a course of action in the order below, to get your job done (get your leave approved): 1. Write a mail to your boss marking your HR, boss of HR and your boss' boss, asking for clarification why you should not be granted the leave. Wait for a response. In case the matter is not resolved and all of them are against your leave, however you are sure that your stand is right and therefore you deserve the leave, then: 2. Reply back disagreeing with them and taking a stand that you deserve the leave and also that it was well planned, informed and also highly needed by you. Argue hard, keep arguing till an extent that they give in (after all, they have their own duties to do and they just can't afford to give so much time to you). Keep in mind, however, that you only argue logically and write/communicate in professional language. You should not give them any reason to accuse you back. Even if they meet you face to face, press your case hard, professionally
  • 36. and assertively highlighting your need for the leave and maintaining your stand for as long as required. I am sure you will get the leave, without doing more than 80% of what I have mentioned :) 72. How do I suppress my anger and disappointment when my best friend bags a higher package, when I know I am technically stronger? Let your friend become the richest person of the world right now, let the whole world be unfair to you, still it must not matter to you! You can never compare yourself with anyone else. You only know your own story of life and not anyone else's. Be happy with what you have. Don't lose your love and affection for yourself because of any senseless reason! Money is a very poor benchmark of success. Own peace of mind, contentment, learning and happiness are the best benchmarks of success. So, please don't try to give up/waste away your treasure of inner peace, delight, contentment, self-belief and happiness, which is much more valuable than a pile of currency. Have self-belief. Be open-minded, be productive everyday and learn new things as fast as possible. Your day will also come. Also, please try to be happy for your friend. After all he is your 'best' friend, isn't he? At the end of the day, it's your self-worth that counts. Pieces of paper are just that - pieces of paper, nothing more. Let the whole world run madly after them. Wise people definitely don't need to be a part of that directionless herd! Their pursuit for excellence ensures that money comes to them and they never need to run after it!
  • 37. 73. Why don't schools teach emotional intelligence to children? Emotional intelligence is a very high order skill. Acquiring and maintaining emotional intelligence is an uphill task. Bringing it out for demonstration in the class is even more difficult. More than teaching emotional intelligence per se, I guess the answer lies in teaching children in an emotionally intelligent manner. Acquiring emotional intelligence needs a constant and substantial amount of learning and personal growth for the teachers themselves. Therefore, you don't find genuine experts on emotional intelligence very easily. 74. Are introverted writers cursed by relatives? NO. Being an introverted writer or for that matter anyone else is purely a matter of one's own choice. First of all, anyone who is an introvert today, will, in all probability, not be an introvert in the future. Likewise, anyone who is not an introvert today, can become an introvert sometime in the future, and can again not be an introvert sometime later. People change with time; though this change is slow and is visible only when we meet some person after a long time, say a couple of years. We change for the good when we keep learning and loving ourselves and we change for the worse when we don't believe in ourselves and don't learn. Therefore, introverted writers are not cursed by anyone. They become an introverted writer by their very own choice.
  • 38. 75. Why do people get angry when they are hungry? I for one get super angry and agitated when hungry. I don't know the biological phenomenon that triggers this, however let me share my perspective. Some wise person has quoted - Never wait for your food when you are hungry. Go and get it right away! Hunger is a very basic need of ours. Anger is triggered when we somehow end up waiting for our food against our will. When we are raring to satiate our hunger, everything else will seem an obstacle between you and your food and you will try to resist it away. Hence the anger :) 76. Society is not going to help you much and is only going to confuse you, so ignore them for a while. Relax and write a daily diary, where you express your first feelings (not thoughts) to yourself. Write as much as you want to write. Try to answer the questions above every day, again and again. Also, read some books that interest you and spend time over the internet knowing about the latest happenings in the country and the world. A day will soon come when you will realize that you have indeed answered the above questions completely and satisfactorily. Let those answers of yours, my friend, decide your future. It will automatically come into your hands :)
  • 39. 77. What are the career options in commerce after 12th ? You can pursue almost anything on this earth. Go by your interest, your talent, your passion. Examples: 1. Bachelor in Commerce (BCom) and then MCom - in case you wish to make a career in accounts/payroll in a good company 2. BBA followed by MBA (Finance) - in case you are business oriented 3. BA (English/Economics/Mathematics) followed by MA in the subject chosen - in case you want to pursue journalism, maths or economics 4. BCom followed by Chartered Accountancy (CA) - in case you want to become a chartered accountant 5. BSc (Statistics) or B.Stat followed by masters - in case you want to become a statistician 78. Is love marriage worth doing? Will it last long in Indian scenario if the in- laws mentally torture daughter in law to its fullest? What should i do to save my marriage? There is nothing wrong with love marriage. Both lovers and arranged couples have to work equally hard to keep developing and rediscovering their relationships. It's a pretty common practice in typical Indian families where the elderly in- laws feel bossy over the daughter in law, who is a new member of the family. This is nothing but an attempt to control and mould her as desired. They feel that they are traditionally entitled to do so, which is a totally irrelevant, impractical and illogical way of thinking. As an arranged married and open minded individual myself, I am personally against this culture/practice and believe that men and women are equal and have equal rights as well as duties.
  • 40. You need to take a stand to protect your personal space. This simply means that wherever you feel your rights are being infringed, or someone is behaving inappropriately at home with you, your first priority is to protect yourself and your peace of mind at any cost. Answer them right back. If you are not listened to, warn them. Seek appropriate help, say women welfare forum or a legal recourse, in case you feel that the situation is getting worse or out of your hands! Hope all gets well. 79. I get severe mood swings and have depression problem. How can I get over it? Please understand that life is very, very simple. We can easily manage our life very well. Depression happens when we get out of our personal comfort zone and are not able to relax/take ample care of self. Take your thoughts very lightly and casually. Give more importance to yourself and your feelings than to outside environment or people or what they have to say. Try to spend and enjoy some time with yourself in solitude, feeling good about yourself every day. Stay busy and productive in what you like to do, on a daily basis. It could be a mix of simple, delightful activities such as gardening, leisure reading, writing daily diary, meditation, yoga, enjoying music, etc. Make it a point to do and learn at least one new thing everyday. Spend more time with your loved ones, those who love you and care for you the most. Also, learn to relax deeply and take sound sleep daily and understand that everything is fine. Listen to your feelings honestly and accept yourself, love yourself the way you are :)
  • 41. 80. Why do people enjoy working? People enjoy working because they want to. They pursue work happily, passionately and productively and are 100% engrossed in work, enjoying it to the core. They do the work they want to do without anyone else putting undue pressure over them. When they don't feel like working or need to take a break or rest, they take 100% rest then. So it's either work or rest and never both of them happening together. Therefore, it's one's own choice when to work and when not to work, whether to work happily or sadly and whether to work under self-motivation or the pressure of some other person. Everything depends entirely upon you! 81. I'm a B.Pharma graduate and have further pursued an MBA in Pharma Marketing. Currently I'm working as a Brand manager in a Pharma company. I’ve an inclination towards IT Healthcare though. What skill set or course do I need to get into IT Healthcare? You need neither skill set nor course to get in IT healthcare. You just need the intent, interest and passion to pursue an IT healthcare career. You could in fact let your current organization know about your true inclination and passion (towards IT healthcare). They should then help you move to such a profile internally or externally. 82. I have a GMAT Phobia. I am planning to take it since last year but I’m somehow scared of it. How can I overcome this issue? Fear of any competitive exams stems from thinking too much and doubting yourself/your abilities.
  • 42. The solution is to take your thoughts very lightly and casually and stay productive everyday in what you like to do. This way a person's confidence rises and so does the self-belief to perform well in any exam. 83. Is there still hope for my life? My father left my mother only 2 years after their marriage for another woman. My mother tried to stop him but he would beat her every time. When that woman became pregnant, the news completely broke my mother. She would have died if my relatives had not forced my father for a child. Hence after 7 years of marriage I was born. My father never loved me because he never loved my mom. Me and my mother continued living on little money he would give us every month. He wanted me drop out of my school but my mother always stood by me. He denied my college education but I told him that I'll kill myself. I graduated with B.B.A. and wanted to go for PG, but due to the lack of financial resources and my family condition it was not attainable. Today I'm 27 years old with no job at hand. My father gives us Rs. 3500 per month for maintenance. He doesn't care about us because his other son got a decent job in a multinational company after completing his M.C.A. I tried many a times for a job but failed or should I say, no one wants to hire a graduate when you see lots of candidates are available with higher degrees. I have lost all my hope and the will to live. I'm only living for my mother otherwise I don't want to live anymore. Please help me. Guide me through this, so I can give some happiness to my mom. Any help is welcome if there's still hope. Stay strong, my friend! I suggest you share your life's story in your interviews as well. Everything will be alright! Stay in touch. 84. What exactly is a NORMAL life in India? When you listen to your heart daily, You are leading a normal life.
  • 43. When you laugh a contagious lot, You are leading a normal life. When you know who you are, You are leading a normal life. When you love everyone around you, You are leading a normal life. When you sleep sound and daily, You are leading a normal life. When you are open and curious, You are leading a normal life. When you pursue your goal with passion, You are leading a normal life. When you are thankful for everything, You are leading a normal life. 85. How can you never be awkward? By always being true to yourself. The moment we let go of the burden to prove a point about self to others, we realize that it had always been a futile activity we had been indulging ourselves in. We never need to prove a point to anyone in life except ourselves. Therefore, as long as we are true to ourselves, it doesn't matter at all whether we come across as awkward to self and/or others.
  • 44. 86. I want to write letters to someone. How can I find people who enjoy writing letters? I am very fond of writing letters. I understand it's a lost art. But I'd still want to have a letters only kind of friend. All my friends are either too lazy to opt for it or prefer emails. How can I find a pen friend like that? I am looking for someone who enjoys conversations, who can talk about anything and everything under the sun, who can make sense of life and is looking for a perennial source of letters. Also please make sure, you are at least 20 and above of age. I am very fond of reading and writing letters and have done it during my teenage years with a pen pal. You are most welcome to be my pen pal. I am 28 and would love to share across my postal address with you for the same :) 87. How do I deal with the situation in which while reading the summary of the text and going to the next page I usually feel like I haven't read anything and feel as if I am totally blank? Is this normal? Yes, this is normal and almost everyone has done this, including me. I was comfortably able to get over this habit after I learnt that from reading we are supposed to capture only that much that actually goes into the mind in one shot of reading. Nothing more, nothing less :)
  • 45. 88. How do I stop pleasing everyone? I can't easily say 'no', even if I say I would be there with all the explanations and reasons. When I ask for any favour, one could easily say 'no' without any inconvenience. I would be blamed if I say 'no' for pleasing them. How can I become more assertive and confident in myself? You need to become less serious and fun-hearted, my friend :) You also need to become happier, which will grow your confidence as well as empower you to speak your true feelings out. Staying productive in what you love to do. Taking good care of yourself, especially emotional health, is a pre-cursor to develop a naturally assertive and confident behaviour. Believe in yourself strongly, stay ever hopeful and I am sure you will do it :) 89. What is the best thing about Bangalore? I have stayed at Bangalore 2010-2013! The best thing about Bangalore is its diversity and the openness with which people embrace each others' differences. I stayed as a tenant at a local landlord's house and I would occasionally be treated with the local breakfast cuisine by my friendly neighbours. The landlord and the neighbours even helped me set up the house well when I had just moved in. The local retailers were friendly and welcoming too. I used to love visiting the local markets, the temples, the hang-out places etc. and most importantly, the city gave me some life-long friends!
  • 46. 90. Why does a girl hate to take the first step? I know a girl likes me since a year. She has never talked to me in anyway but still stares me and notices me every time among a group of guys. Why doesn’t she want to talk first? You can't blame girls for that. It's their nature as well as social conditioning. In a family, the male is the food gatherer, the protector and the hunter while the female is the care giver, home manager and the kids' nurturer. Why don't you just go ahead and talk to her! Why not hold a frank and confident conversation, before your stray thoughts con-volute the reality into a make-believe situation! Keep things simple, my friend! Approach her, smile, have a healthy eye contact and the talk will automatically happen. 91. Why are we so important to ourselves? That's the human nature - to be curious, observant, inquisitive and opinionated about the developments that impact you or interest you. If you would observe a little child closely, you would understand human nature in its purest form. Try snatching a child's toy away from him/her and all your doubts will get washed away. The meaning of life is to be happy and productive SO that you become able enough to help and support others. 92. What is the best way to motivate yourself to study hard? Feel free to take breaks when you don't feel like studying. Study in small sessions. Break down your subject topics so that you can cover them with a bit of a challenge (and not take too much challenge). Understand that whatever you study, either you learn it 100% or 0%. There is actually no mid-way.
  • 47. 93. I am 2015 pass-out fresher M.Tech. in mechanical engineering. How can I get job in my core side? Narrow down your industry of choice. Choose an area or industry such as: 1. Oil & Gas/Petroleum 2. Refrigeration and Air Conditioning 3. Machine Tools 4. Welding and Sheet Metal Technology 5. Real Estate/Construction 6. Manufacturing/Automobiles 7. Energy and Power Generation etc. Once chosen, google for companies in your area of choice and look for job openings on their website. Also, search for such jobs on: Jobs - Recruitment - Job Search - Employment - Job Vacancies - Naukri.com World’s Largest Professional Network 94. How do I make my own decisions? Listen to what your heart says and follow it. Because your heart says what truth is and is the best action to take in any situation. Learn to act fast and act swift in any situation, without thinking too much over whether you are doing right or wrong. Be confident, be responsible, stand up for yourself and you will certainly begin to make your own decisions.
  • 48. 95. Why is an intellectual way of life making us socially callous? I think that lack of mutual trust is the single biggest reason why all of us are turning socially callous. In traffic, we honk so much so as to irritate each other. In queues, we quarrel over our turns. If someone is hurt on the road, no one comes ahead to help, fearing that the blame itself would get passed on to the helper. People are literally afraid to help thinking that they could suffer instead, which is sometimes actually true. This is a symptom of the rising insensitivity and diminishing humanity inside each one of us. It's the responsibility of our most learnt leaders at the forefront to bridge this widening social gap. If not addressed, this could lead to frequent social unrest in the near future, which is definitely not desirable. 96. How do I deal with not being able to make my own decisions? You have to learn to be honest to yourself always. We remain indecisive when we end up giving too much importance to anyone else and not ourselves. Understand that we ourselves are the most important person in our lives. We have a duty to decide and stand for ourselves, so that we can later on become capable enough to help others. 97. If you really do care about a person, does this also mean you love her? Yes. You just can't care unless you love. Whether you feel the need to express that love or not is another question. In fact, caring for the other person is a form of expressing love itself :)
  • 49. 98. I have a start-up proposal but I don't know whom to contact to get some investments on that? Start on a small scale. Today you don't need to register a company in your name to start business in India. You could save costs and start directly by investing your savings (in case you have). Hiring people would be tricky without registering your company as people will not be serious about work on a part-time mode. Therefore, in case you have partners, stick to working within yourself to begin with. Later on, when you cross break-even point, you could register your firm, get an office and start hiring full time. 99. I have to do master degree after completing English honours course so how do I start preparing for it in advance? What are the courses available for me? Go for journalism. Start blogging for websites and companies on a freelance basis and also learn other aspects of print/electronic media such as writing a press release, video coverage, news-reading, interviewing, press coverage etc. This will also give you the much needed learning and experience to pro-actively start your career. 100. How can I stop judging people? By understanding that you can never truly judge people. You can judge their actions at best, but you never know their complete reality. Every person has a different story of life. We can only know ours.
  • 50. 101. I have around 3 years experience in PHP and am willing to pursing MS but is it worth it? No. Go ahead with job or start-up and not MS (start-up too only if you believe your business model is reliable enough and you have a back-up plan already made). A few more years in job could give you the much-needed financial security which would also be essential for other aspects of your life. 102. Who is the light of life and why? YOU are, because you can help yourself the best! 103. Is doing Masters in Mechatronics (in USA) after doing Mechanical engineering in India worth? Yes, very much. The fees and the expenses would cost you a lot though and it might take some time before you bag a job to repay your educational debt. Keep these things in mind and rest, you should find better career prospects and pay checks in the US with a course like Masters in Mechatronics. A random search returns this result on Google: Mechatronics Engineering in the USA | Hotcourses India 104. I'm a BE CSE 3rd year student. I'm very good at problematic papers but the same opposite in case of theory. I can't memorize. Is it enough only to score in the problematic papers and concentrate less on the theoretical papers? No, it's not enough. I think you need to practice writing, so you develop some amount of comfort required while expressing your ideas and knowledge.
  • 51. Understand that you mostly need to write your first thought out and therefore, writing is not as tedious and demanding as it seems to be. Spend one hour daily in solitude, writing anything in your diary. I am sure this step would help you understand the importance of expressing your theoretical knowledge in addition to problem solving. 105. How do I improve my handwriting in English as whenever I attempt my paper it become horrible that my friends can't even understand it if I write very nicely also, so could you please help? Slow down a bit while writing is what I would suggest! Understand that it’s important that your writing is understood well by others, as much as you would like to express yourself. May be you can practice writing with a clear formation of words and sentences on a daily basis. 106. How do I open my heart to appreciate and accept others? I am not caring too much when communicating with others. You need to learn to listen better. Maintaining some amount of conscious silence while interacting with others should help. Relaxation techniques such as yoga and pranayam should also help you become more empathetic and connected with people. Also, take time out on a daily basis to be spent in solitude, doing something productive such as reading or writing. 107. What can be the reason behind if a person is impulsive and impatient? I think it's because that person is not able to be honest to himself. The person is getting too much affected by what others have to say or do and is unable to understand his own likes and dislikes.
  • 52. He should therefore relax and needs to learn more. Perhaps spending some daily time in solitude writing or reading could help a lot for the person to come out of this trap. 108. I am a SSLC student. I am lagging behind. What should I do to overcome it and what are the techniques to succeed? How do you know and how do you define that 'you are really lagging behind'? No need to compare yourself with anyone else. If at all you want to compare, compare only to yourself. As long as you are honest to yourself and happy the way you are and the way do your studies and assignments, you are NOT lagging behind anyone. In case you are not happy with yourself, introspect the reason and address that reason. Stay productive, keep learning at least one new thing everyday, meet new people often and develop hobbies such as daily writing, reading, gardening, cycling etc. No need to label yourself as 'lagging' unless your heart feels so! 109. Which one is better, specialist officer or a probationary officer? Which one offers a better salary? I don't know about salary. Perhaps it is the same for both. However, PO is preferable over SO because being a generalist keeps your options open for growth. I am tempted to believe that if you compare growth statistics of POs vs SOs, the POs fare better. I still advise you take a second opinion as well.
  • 53. 110. Is that true that boys are always a mumma's boy? Yes, all boys are mumma's boys. The reserved boys, who can't talk to girls, are of course mumma's boys. The extrovert boys, who talk to everyone around, still remain mumma's boys. Some boys grow up to be men and still remain mumma's boys while some don't. The more mumma's boy someone is, the more honest and capable that boy/man is. I believe this is always true. 111. I have been smoking 2 cigarettes a day for past 1 year. Is it too late to give up? No, it's not too late. However, I suggest you stop right away. I had been in your stage 3 years back and am not able to quit now. Better, leave it now itself. Later on, you might face multiple problems otherwise. 112. I work in Pune in an IT firm for a US client. Due to project requirement I will not be able to go home for Diwali. My team will even be made to work on the day of Diwali, that too in the evening. Can I complain this to anyone or take any action? I suggest you talk it over with your manager or the HR himself. Are you happy with your job overall? I suppose so. It's the best to raise your concern with the right people, so that mutual trust is not breached.
  • 54. 113. How do I deal with the situation in which I want to study more but still not able to move forward and always feel sleepy most of the time? Never study when you don't feel like. Study only when you really feel like studying. This will ease the psychological pressure of studying off you. Also, when you study some topic, please realize that you either learn it 100%, or you don't learn it at all. There is no mid-way. 114. Does anyone in India hate PM Modi? Yes, there are always people on both sides of the coin. Everyone makes mistakes and Modi must have also made some. For example, his frequent foreign visits are not exactly liked by everyone. Of late, the Bihar election results also point towards a flaw in the party's strategy under his leadership. Similar was the case with the Delhi elections. Similarly, there can be more examples. Having said that, Modi has certain achievements to his and the government's credit. Without going into details, Swachh Bharat Mission, Smart Cities Mission and Digital India campaign are there to name a few, where some progress has been made. 115. How should one identify his/her strength and weaknesses, when he/she is in clinical depression? How to get over failures? Clinical depression is not a stage where you need to identify your strengths or weaknesses. It's a stage for you to completely relax, stay simple and honest to yourself and stick to your basics.
  • 55. Try to be happy by staying productive, spending more time with your loved ones, meet new people and be thankful for the things and people in your life that you already have. Learning from failures is the best way to get over them, because learning ensures that you improve in your next attempt, improve even more in the attempt next to that and ultimately, reach success. 116. With an MBA and a few years of work experience, is it difficult to get a job after maternity leave? How should I approach my job search? You may like to try freelance model - working from home. You could work as a freelance content writer (will pay you more) or write books/stories/novels/e-books (will pay you less), the opportunities for which are ample at various job and freelance portals. 117. My brother is in std. 9. How should I prepare him for his boards and know what is his future interest of study? He is confused himself and wants me to guide him. He is good in studies. He is studying with CBSE board. Could you please help to guide him? It is a cause of worry that your brother is confused. Confusion is often the source of wrong decisions in life. Help your brother unwind. May be he is into too much of studying or too much of fun and frolicking. Either case, he needs to spend some time everyday with himself and the family in a productive manner. He should read a variety of topics over and above the school curriculum to broaden his horizons and he should write a daily diary to express his thoughts/feelings. Once he does this for around a couple of months, the confusion will be gone and he will have a better clarity of his purpose, talent, interest and passion areas.
  • 56. The point is, your brother can only himself answer the best what it is that he loves to do and build a stupendous career later on in. And he deserves at least that much of space for his life's sake. All of us can at best facilitate his self exploration to this effect, nothing more. 118. Should one quit a full-time job to work from home? Yes, why not! In case you feel more comfortable working from home and you can also ensure that you/your family don't suffer from any financial burden as a result, please go ahead :) Note - I work from home too, and I too had quit a full-time job. However, then I also endured temporary financial burden (risk) as a result. Nonetheless, I am reaping benefits now that are better than a full time job :) 119. I hate it when somebody doesn't reply me after seeing the message. Do I need to feel bad about this? NO. You are responsible for your actions and others are responsible for their actions. You are not supposed to feel bad or offended when someone makes a choice of delaying an interaction, or choosing to not interact with you at all. I suggest you stay engrossed in your business and forget about such people, unless they come back to you. In case they do, welcome them back. That's what people with big hearts do.
  • 57. 120. If reading (novels, plays, biographies, poems etc.) is my passion then what career options do I have which pay well? You may consider building career as a 'professional reviewer' of writing works. You would need to research more to understand how a professional reviewer works. In my knowledge, they charge authors/publishers for reviewing their books and their reputation largely determines what rates they can charge. Another option is that of building a career as an editor/proof-reader. 121. Can a timid, un-assertive people-pleaser be a good manager? Wouldn't employees be inclined to pay more attention and put more effort into doing what a more intimidating manager tells them to do? Wrong! A people-pleaser can only achieve utter failure and DOOM. This is because such a person chooses not to stand for himself/herself and what he/she truly believes in. He/she simply ignores his/her own beliefs and principles and instead starts focusing on pleasing others, which is a highly stupid thing to do. Such a person can never be honest to himself/herself and chooses not to learn and grow in life. Instead, people should be confident, accepting and proud of who they really are, while endeavouring to learn, work productively and grow on a daily basis. 122. How do I became successfully without having talent (only have hard work)? Everyone has at least one talent that is unique to him/her always. It's just that we are, at some point, not able to realize/feel that talent owing to our inappropriate social conditioning and faulty self management.
  • 58. Here are some tips, following which on a daily basis for about one month will make you realize your talent: 1. Try to become a happier version of your own self. Start by loving and taking more care of yourself. Spend as much time as possible with people who love you and care for you the most, and the rest of your time in solitude, writing the first feeling/thought that comes to you on a daily basis, in a personal diary of yours. 2. Stop doubting yourself completely and take all your thoughts very lightly and casually. Instead, focus on your feelings as they are the true reflection of one self. Find a suitable avenue to express your true, honest feelings often, which could be writing in your personal diary, you talking to yourself in the mirror, or you talking to a loved one (your trustworthy confidante). I would recommend writing in the diary as the best option. 3. Try to stay productive and busy in whatever activity you feel like doing. It could be gardening, cycling, reading, yoga, meditation, enjoying music or a combination of these. Just make sure when you are doing anything, be 100% engrossed in that activity and see it to completion. When you feel tired or feel the need for rest, then take adequate, full rest before resuming for some other task. Enjoy your rest 100% just like any other task you do. 4. Learn to be content and happy in what you already have. Learn to appreciate the simple, small, little truths and things of your life. Be simple and always be honest to yourself. Understand that you NEVER need to prove a point to anyone except yourself in life. Try to be neither complacent nor overtly ambitious about your current endeavours. Try to strike a fine balance between complacency and ambition and maintain that balance. 5. Do and learn at least one new, different thing everyday. Understand that learning never stops and develop learning into a continuous process for yourself. Stay simple, cool, calm, open-minded, observant and relaxed as far as possible. Practice deep relaxation (including sleep and rest) often in between bouts of productive work. Understand and believe that you are able to connect to your conscience/gut feel/inner voice/intuition and listen to it very clearly.
  • 59. 6. Your conscience will communicate your talent to you. Listen to it intently :) Meanwhile, keep taking out time to enjoy life with your loved ones. Smile often, have fun, be cheerful and laugh as much as possible. Life, after all, is neither meant to typecast yourself as hard worker only, nor to take yourself too seriously :) 123. Which is the best way for a mechanical fresher to earn Rs.100000 a month salary? In India, a mechanical fresher can begin at 1L PM only when: 1. You are from IIT or a similar premier institute and a top notch MNC hires you for such a package. 2. Doing your own business - even then the 1L a month income is not guaranteed. It is possible through meticulous planning at your end. You would need a business model, a product, a timeline, the funds and other resources and of course, all of this is going to take you at least one year and a LOT OF risk of failure, in case you are starting today. See for yourself where you fit. 124. I'm in class 12th commerce right now and after this year I have to decide where I want to take my life. However, I'm so confused. Sometimes I think of pursuing CA apart from my graduation and sometimes something else. All I know right now is that I want a good income and then I want to develop my own business. So what should I do? 1. Don't go abroad. It will fetch you nothing except burning huge amount of family money (or education loan, which is even worse) as your college fees and relocation expenses. 2. Pursue BBA and then MBA in India (as you want to pursue your own business in the future). Try to get a good college for your BBA and MBA both.
  • 60. 3. Don't do CA. It will make a geek instead of a businessman out of you and will not be worth it. BBA + MBA is sufficient. 4. Apart from BBA and MBA, use your spare time to learn how to start a business, what you are really good at (pursuing your talent is the best way to do your business). Learn and collect as much information as possible in your spare time and also, read a lot of business books and get in the habit of writing a daily diary. Read business newspapers and magazines and do research on the currently prevalent start-up/entrepreneurship revolution in India. 5. Please understand that the business you will be doing in future will depend more on your learning as well as answering the following questions, than academic knowledge or qualifications per se: 1) Who am I? - Knowledge about yourself 2) Where have I been? - What you have done in your past shapes up your present and what you do in your present shapes up your future (your upbringing, family background etc.) 3) Who do I hang out with? - Your immediate home environment, friend circle, daily routine and social network. I am myself a businessman. You can choose to stay in touch with me and I will share with you how could I manage to start a business of my own. It's still a long way to go for you. Be open; keep learning and all the best! 125. How do I become a millionaire before the age of 30? Those who became a millionaire before the age of 30, first of all, never thought too much about money or becoming a millionaire. Such people focus on learning continuously, developing themselves and staying honest to their true feelings. This helps them to be more self-aware and realize their talent/passion.
  • 61. Once they reach this stage, they simply pursue their passion happily, and who can stop a sincere and consistently focused person from delivering excellent business results? :) 126. My mother in law is a drama queen she cries and leaves the house over tiny little things. What should I do? You need to take a stand. Don't allow yourself to get too much affected when another person is getting emotional. You can offer help to that person, but that's the best you can do. You always need to draw and protect your personal space. If the other person is simply not willing to take your help or to listen to you, trust me you can't do anything, except to ignore all of this completely and focus on yourself and your daily routine. 127. What can be the reason behind lack of self confidence in any person? The reason is – people who lack self-confidence doubt themselves, their abilities and they think too much over it. As a result, they become unproductive in their daily routine. Soon this develops into a bad habit and they keep losing more and more confidence. The remedy in such a case is to realize that every day is a new beginning for you. Past is not important. Present is the most important. And future must be planned sometimes. Those who think too much and doubt themselves, tend to get trapped in the thoughts of their past and forget to enjoy the present, which gets wasted and passes by. On the other hand, those who stay honest to themselves, prove a point only to themselves and not anyone else, stay happy in what they have, keep themselves busy and productive and keep learning something new everyday, see a rise in their self-confidence.
  • 62. 128. I am student of 12th class and I got 65 % in previous year exam. Now this year I am trying for improvement. What is a good way to get the best marks in PCM? Have confidence in yourself. Believe that you can learn more and fetch better marks. Focus on learning while you study. No need to think about the marks because if you learn your subjects and chapters well, confidence and marks will follow automatically. Meanwhile, do take time out to enjoy through sports and other hobbies that you like to pursue, a healthy diet and spending time with family. This will develop more interest and focus inside you towards your studies and learning. 129. As I'm new to blogging, I have doubt in mind, "Do top bloggers have time to enjoy daily life, especially when they are very busy with services, products, consultancy etc."? Yes, they do have ample time to enjoy their daily life and in all probability they enjoy life more than you and I do. Reason, they enjoy it to the core when they write those high quality, creative, amazing, treat-to-read blogs. They work very productively, probably more productively than you and I do, and therefore, they LEARN something new every time they research and write blogs. And the joy of learning is so immense that I doubt if anything apart from true love and true service to humanity can match that joy. The point is, they don't discriminate writing blogs as different from enjoying their lives. While they would have a family, friend circle etc. to enjoy their life, blogging also means a personal passion to them which they enjoy equally, if not more. Hope I am clear :)
  • 63. 130. Why am I so slow in deciding and communicating? You are not able to be spontaneous. And that's because you are very much out of your comfort zone right now! People get out of their comfort zones when they feel too much pushed by others, when others end up influencing and controlling their daily lives instead of themselves. To get your decision making and communication ability back, you need to be YOURSELF and not try to focus too much on meeting others' expectations from you. Understand that it's your life and you are the sole king/queen of your life. If it isn't so, it's a big problem then. Learn to relax and keep calm. Stop thinking about yourself in case you are doing so. Instead, try to be happier. Love yourself and take care of yourself by taking adequate diet and rest and by keeping yourself busy and productive by doing what you love to do. Spend your time only with people who love you and care for you. Learn at least one new thing everyday, always be honest to yourself and help at least one needy person everyday. Understand that to help others, you need to help yourself first. These suggestions would help you regain your comfort zone to a sufficient extent so you begin to steer your daily life in the direction YOU want and not where others want you to steer. Decision making and communication abilities will follow automatically. 131. Is it really necessary to care what others think about us? Not at all! We only need to care about what we feel about ourselves. Irrespective of whether society acts as our well-wisher or bad-wisher, it's the SELF that must always be prioritized. People who only keep following others' advice, trying to keep everyone happy but themselves, are naturally bound to meet utter failure in their lives.
  • 64. It's only our conscience, our inner voice, our intuition and sensing abilities that can steer us towards our goal successfully in life. Nothing else can do that! We can AT BEST learn from others, but that's where the limit ends. The decisions of our life must always be our own! 132. What should a person choose between love and career? Love, because when you love truly, career automatically falls into place (mark my words - only when you love truly) The vice versa is seldom true. Career pursuit would hardly get you true love, or let you devote time to it/let you work towards the relationship. Looking at it another way, family is more important than career. Because you pursue your career to sustain your loving family and never vice versa. A level deeper, true love connects you with yourself and your talent/passion. It sets you free from office politics and conspiracies etc. Without love, true career is not possible. What happens instead is a direction- less pursuit of going to office everyday, coming back to home and sleeping off, only to restart the next day. Without love, you just cannot find your purpose in life. Even people who stay single all through their lives, learn to love themselves if not anyone else. That's how they discover their potential and pursue their talent with passion. To conclude, Love must be chosen, preferred and prioritized ALWAYS over career!
  • 65. 133. What is the proper response when I have a start date that is next week but I just got another offer? Maintaining full transparency with every stakeholder involved with you will help. Just be clear on what you want to pursue and where you want to go. Once you are convinced upon your choice, communicating the same across remains more of a formality. Stand by what you need for yourself, irrespective of how much pressure or lamentation comes from the other side, because you will, later on, be able to work happily only where your heart wants you to go. 134. What is the best way to keep energized instead of quickly running out of energy? Learning something new everyday by staying productive is the best way to keep yourself energized. Sometimes we do a lot of hard work however we still feel out of energy. That happens when we are working against our will. When we learn to understand the self in finer nuances, we are able to manage ourselves and therefore our happiness and energy levels, more effectively. To conclude, learning/productivity AND self-management, when they go hand- in-hand, make for a good recipe/combination of factors to manage your energy levels, to begin with. 135. Can I say "every of" instead of "everyone of"? NO. You can say "each of" though. "Every of" doesn't exist in English language.
  • 66. 136. I am trying to make a GF but it’s not happening. What should I do? Never mind! Love yourself, be yourself and stay happy with what you have. Don't try to push. Let new things and people come to your life on their own. That way you will certainly get authentic things and authentic people in your life :) 137. Where lays the limit between confidence and over confidence? 1. Question - How are you doing? Confident Answer - I'm doing great, Thank you :) Over confident answer - Doing great as always! 2. Question - What should I do in life? Confident Answer - Do what your heart beats for! Over-confident response - You don't even know what you want to do in life! 3. Question - I am 25 and I don't have a girlfriend. What should I do :(? Confident Answer - Never mind, be happy :) Over-confident response (with a dash of arrogance) - You don't even have a girlfriend! You are a hopeless case. Seriously, dude!
  • 67. 138. What are some good answers to "Which one do you prefer – Smart work or hard work"? Smart work, because before learning smart work you have to learn hard work. Thus, a smart worker can do both smart and hard work as required, while a hard worker can only do hard work. 139. I am 24 but still immature and childish. My girlfriend likes me but she once hinted that she'd prefer a manlier and mature boy. How do I become mature? (I am very asocial). WHY do you want to become someone other than yourself, my friend? There is absolutely no need to 'become' mature to prove a point to your girlfriend or anyone else for that matter. Be proud of who you ARE. Keep learning and growing in life, however only those people who accept you the way you ARE, are your real well-wishers. You never need to prove a point to ANYONE in your life, except yourself, my friend. 140. When I tell my goal to people, they are calling me crazy, because till now I was a loser. How do I overcome this? Let all of those people go to hell. They are acting crazy while you are acting wise and brave. Just pursue your goal with full conviction and determination. Ensure you keep learning something new everyday and keep proceeding step by step towards your goal everyday. Seek help if required, but make it a promise to yourself to never ever accept defeat to the hurdles towards your goal. Once you have decided to pursue your goal, there must be no looking back.
  • 68. All the best :) 141. Is it necessary for a person to change if he is positive in his life and doesn't see any negative qualities in any person, especially girls? Not necessary and not desirable. Be who you are and be proud of whom you are. Never change for someone else's sake. Change only through learning on your path of self-growth, so you can enlighten others as well who happen to follow you and look up to you for guidance in life. 142. We are attracted to someone so deeply and even I know he can't be mine. In that case why do we become so damn weak? No, you don't become weak once you understand this: Your love is not the one you love. You are not the love of the one who loves you. Your love is the one who loves you. You are the love of the one you love. Understand that if you love someone, you become the lover of that person and not vice versa. Whether the other person loves you back or not, is entirely his choice. You are not supposed to do anything about it. Therefore, loving someone truly should make you happy.
  • 69. 143. Everything is vibration? Is that true? YES. Science has proven the dual nature of matter - wave as well as particle. Read more at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wave-particle_duality 144. What are the other ways can we do to get rain rather than growing up trees? 1. Reduce pollution 2. More rain water harvesting 3. Saving our rivers and water bodies 4. Saving ground water levels from depleting 5. Saving the glaciers and the ice caps 145. How one can get himself/herself better in HR field? Leadership potential - Good HRs are good learners because they create potential for themselves to grow everyday. 4. Great self-management - Good HRs have great personality, communication and are highly approachable (they smile and laugh very often and stay honest to their emotions)
  • 70. 5. Professionalism - Good HRs serve their duty to maintain an employee engaging work environment and ensure their employees remain happy and productive 6. Equality and parity - Good HRs ensure fair recruitment and appraisal processes as much as possible and don't hesitate from taking a stand against the majority too if required 7. Ethical - Good HRs can distinguish the ethical from the unethical and reward/punish accordingly. They ensure that the values of the organization are implemented in letter as well as spirit and also that the employees' personal rights are not infringed upon by their bosses or anyone. 146. I lost my love. I didn't get what was my mistake. For what am I getting so big a punishment? Please don't say that YOU lost your love. Your love is still with you. Isn't it? Correct me if I am wrong. It's the other person who lost the love. It's his/her loss and not yours. "You are the love of the one you love. Your love is the one who loves you." She/he never loved you. So he/she was never your love. You always loved him/her. So you will always be his/her love. Even she/he cannot snatch this fact away from you that YOU WILL ALWAYS BE HIS/HER LOVE. 99% people misunderstand love and go into depression. I hope this answer helps clarify love to readers and save all of us from depressions created due to grave misunderstanding of the concept of love.
  • 71. 147. What sport can I pick up from scratch at 24 yrs of age? Athletics (Running) or Cycling. Both are easy to learn and burn maximum calories. They also don't need you to look for players. They don't need much equipment or upfront cost either. 30 minutes a day and you are done with them to have a great day ahead :) 148. Why do companies ask for full-time MBA for positions where they require 10-12 years of experience? You are right. There are a lot of conspiracies playing out in the corporate market. What I have done is, if the corporate recruitment can't be fair, I will create my own career without depending on anyone else. I am an MBA HR from a premium B-school and still able to relate to the validity of your point. After 6 years of work-ex, today I am a professional writing consultant, an independent, self-employed professional who simply pursues his passion. If all of us start believing in ourselves and begin pursuing our respective passions, the corporate world will automatically learn the lesson they should have learnt long back, as no one would like to work under their bossiness and unfair structures.
