HOW A GENERATOR
WORKS?
Generator converts mechanical energy
obtained from an external source into
electrical energy. In simple terms they
don’t actually create electricity but they
convert mechanical/chemical energy into
electrical energy. Think of it as a water
pump, it doesn't create the water but
creates the flow of water.

PARTS OF A
GENERATOR
1. Engine- The engine which usually runs on fuel like
gasoline or diesel is the main part of a generator. It
creates mechanical energy which the alternator
converts into electricity.
2. Alternator- The alternator which by use of a drive belt
uses the mechanical energy of the engine
to spin the pulley that turns the alternator's rotor shaft
that has a set of magnets that is rotated inside a coil.

- It is a safe container for flammable fluids, often
gasoline or diesel fuel.

8. Control Panel- It is a graphical interface that allows users to
manage settings and features, you can also look or open it in
the desktop and in the mobile operating systems.
9. Main Assembly Frame- It is the house of parts of the
generator, also where all the different parts are built and I
think the frame is a rigid, structure that surrounds and
encloses something.
