Shoebox project
Christmas 2009
Helping Angels want to give as many kids in children’s homes the
joy of getting their own gift from Santa this year.
Not only do we want to spoil them with a fun toy, but also make
sure the gift is useful. The more shoeboxes we can collect the more
children’s homes we can help so please help us by getting friends, family and colleagues involved and
make a difference this Christmas! Beneficiaries that we would like to help include Masigcine
Children’s Home, Malachi Place of Safety, Colleen’s Place of Hope, Sakhumzi children’s home, SA
children’s home, Heatherdale children’s home, Mamawethu House of Safety & Bottelary Primary
School in CPT and Johannesburg children’s home and Nazareth House in JHB.
How to prepare your shoebox:
You can prepare a general shoebox, or you can contact us for the name & age of a specific child that
you can spoil this Christmas. Take a standard shoebox (so that each little angel
gets a gift of about the same size) and fill it with some of the following items:
• Toothpaste, toothbrush, soap, facecloth, shampoo, lotion
• Snacks like packet of chips, cookies, chocolate, lollipop, etc
• Small gift /toy like teddy bear, bubble blower, crayons, coloring book,
etc
• Add a note sending Christmas wishes from Santa
• Wrap your shoebox in colorful paper
• Collect the boxes from friends, family and colleagues and send your
completed shoeboxes to us or phone us to collect.
