7. Simple Past
We use simple past to talk about
Finished actions, no connection with present.
E.g.: I worked in Lisbon four years ago.
We use simple past with a time expression
like yesterday, a year ago, last night, etc.
e.g.: I saw Mary yesterday. / My father
phoned two days ago.
