OVERVIEW
MOROCCO
EARTHQUAKE
On the evening of Friday, September 8th, at 11:11 PM local
time, Morocco experienced its most devastating earthquake in
over a century. This seismic event, measuring 6.8 in
magnitude, resulted in a significant loss of life with 2,900
people dead and thousands of individuals injured according
to the latest figures. This leaves thousands of individuals in
need of aid & we aim to deliver that through emergency relief
kits.

A well-implemented project to provide emergency relief kits to earthquake victims can yield a
range of profoundly positive impacts on both the affected communities and the broader relief
efforts. In the immediate aftermath, such initiatives save lives by supplying essential items like
food, clean water, blankets, and medical supplies, ensuring the survival and well-being of those
in need. Beyond this, they alleviate suffering, fostering a sense of community cohesion as
people come together to support each other during a crisis, strengthening social bonds. These
efforts also offer significant health benefits by preventing disease outbreaks through the
provision of clean water and hygiene products, particularly important for vulnerable groups
such as children, the elderly, and pregnant women. Furthermore, emergency relief kits provide
psychological relief, reducing the trauma experienced by survivors and preserving their dignity
by allowing them to meet their basic needs independently. They act as a bridge to long-term
recovery efforts, empowering affected communities to stabilize and initiate the rebuilding
process.
