Purpose of the FeasibilityReport:
The purpose of this document is to design a library management system for Abasyn University in
GUI Environment.
ProjectDescription:
The goal of this project is to create a system for library management. The system will allow
performance of the actions needed in order to manage the library in a simple and comfortable
way. The actions will include reservation of books, return of books, librarian information
handling, book information handling and supplier, addition/removal of members and fine. The
user login to system with a username and password.

The main objective of the project is to automate the process of day to day activities within the
Abasyn Library:
 Book activities,
 Entry of a New Customer,
 Assign a Book according to customer’s demand,
 Storing information of suppliers and books,
 Storing employee information,
 Keep track of books receivable and fines.
The scope of our project "Library Management System” is that it could be given to any
small/medium sized library.
Software has following specifications:-
 Any operating System including Linux, windows and Mac
 Processor = 1 GHz
 RAM = more than 512MB
 Hard free space = 2 GB
 Resolution = 1024x768
The systemhas the following module:-
o Book management Module
o Reservation Module
o Employee Management Module
o Manager Module

o Receptionist Module
DesiredSystem Functionality:
Books management Module:
This module provides the management facility of book. It would allow to:
 add a new book;
 Delete a book;
 Update
 View all books
Reservation Module
This module allows the employee to manage reservations. It would allow to:
 Make a new reservation of book to teacher or students.
 check out a book;
 Find all reservations of books by one student or teacher.
Employee Management Module:
This module allows to manage the employee information. It would allow to:
 password verification;
 add a new employee;
 edit an existing employee;
 Manage receptionist and manager.

Supplier:
This module keeps track of suppliers. It would allow to:
 add a new supplier
 edit an existing supplier
 Delete a supplier
ReceptionistModule:
The receptionist will have access to the Book management module, and Reservation module.
He will be able to perform the following operations:
 add a new book
 Delete a book
 Update a book
 Fine
 Issue a book
1.1. Justificationfor the ProposedSystem
1. The system provides the facility of record keeping for books and library staff, it is a
modern method of keeping records safe and secure in computer system so that addition,
deletion and cancelation of book order will be easy. The availability of computers have
made this system popular in every university. Since the funds needed.

2. Less capital will be used as the cost of printing book is eliminated. its cost is low since it
requires only database updating from time to time, and skilled people to do this job
manually are not enough

2. Risks and Cost Estimates
2.1. Risks and risk mitigations
Risks Mitigations
1. Size of product in number of
programs, files, transactions is
large?
1. Before staring the project take a
deep study on the modules,
entitiesanddatainvolved to avoid
unnecessary files.
2. Size of database created or used
by the product?
2. Ask complete user requirements
before building database
3. Number of projected changes to
the requirements for the
product? Before delivery? After
delivery?
3. Before the start of project , specify
the possible points where user can
change the requirements
4. Reasonable delivery deadlines? 4. Be specifictodeliverydeadlines and
better to call a developers meeting to
decide the each deadline
5. Does the customer have a solid
idea of what is required?
5. Before the start of the project look
at customer requirements
6. Are the best people available? 6. Before the start of the project
choose appropriate and expert
developers
7. Are staff committed for entire
duration of the project?
7. Make sure all the developers work
throughout the project because if one
memberleave itwill reduce the speed
and create problems in development

3. Conclusions and Recommendation
Conclusions
This feasibility study report was about to develop a simple library management system which is used
To store, delete, handle and retrieve information about books, CDs, magazines etc. It will solve
Problem and time saving for the user because it is computerized working environment
Recommendation
For the system to function to its best capability, the analyst recommends the following:
It is recommended that use operating system for smooth running of the project (windows 8 or
windows 10).
High security measures should be upheld in order to avoid theft crimes at the library.
The latest versions of antivirus be installed and updated frequently in order to detect the many
virus programs that are emerging daily in the IT society.

Risks and risk mitigations Risks Mitigations 1. Size of product in number of programs, files, transactions is large? 1. Before staring the project take a deep study on the modules, entitiesanddatainvolved to avoid unnecessary files. 2. Size of database created or used by the product? 2. Ask complete user requirements before building database 3. Number of projected changes to the requirements for the product? Before delivery? After delivery? 3. Before the start of project , specify the possible points where user can change the requirements 4. Reasonable delivery deadlines? 4. Be specifictodeliverydeadlines and better to call a developers meeting to decide the each deadline 5. Does the customer have a solid idea of what is required? 5. Before the start of the project look at customer requirements 6. Are the best people available? 6. Before the start of the project choose appropriate and expert developers 7. Are staff committed for entire duration of the project? 7. Make sure all the developers work throughout the project because if one memberleave itwill reduce the speed and create problems in development
