In my Garment Evaluation

In my Garment Evaluation, I evaluated two blazers. Blazer One is from a
discount retail store, Forever 21; Blazer Two is from a better retail store, Dillard’s.
Blazer One’s general appearance was that it is a long sleeved blazer with double
welted pockets, and a solid tan bodice. The tan blazer was made in China. To keep
the garment in good condition it must be washed on the gentle cycle and dried on
tumble dry low. The overall workmanship of the tan blazer is it is very lightweight,
includes long sleeves. This garment is also fully lined with 100% polyester, and the
shell is 93% polyester with 7% spandex. Also included in this garment is a
superimposed seam with a plain seam finish. Unfortunately, the stitching is starting
to unravel after a couple of wears around the arm area. However, there is
smoothness and uniformity in the stitching and seams everywhere else. After
examining the garment I noticed the seamstress used a lock stitch and used
standard tension when stitching. When bought, all stitches were neat with no bulk
or pucker. This garment included two double welted pockets on both the lower
right and left side. The tan blazer also has a rolled collar. There were also no
manufacturing shortcuts that could be seen when examining this garment. To add
décor the blazer included two hook and eye buttons at the end of both sleeves.
Blazer One has interfacing throughout the entire garment and is constructed with
seven pieces.
Blazer Two is a long sleeved hunter green blazer with double welted
pockets, and a solid green bodice. The green blazer was made in the U.S... To keep
the garment in good condition it is recommended that the owner should have it dry
cleaned only. The overall workmanship of the green blazer is that it is lightweight,
including long sleeves. The garment is fully lined with 100% polyester, and the
shell is 72% Viscose and 28% Polyester. Also included in this garment is a
superimposed seam with a plain seam finish. The garment is uniformed in stitch
and seam with no bulk pucker throughout the entire garment. This garment has a
lock stitch and used standard tension when stitching. There is no closure on this
garment, and no stitching on the outside. The hunter green blazer has two double
welted pockets on the lower right and left side of the garment. Instead of a rolled
collar, it has a standing collar. To add décor, the manufacturer added one button on
the bottom of the two double welted pockets. Also, because the designer decided to
make this Blazer Two has interfacing throughout the entire garment and is
constructed with ten garment pieces.
