The Economist Intelligence Unit, on behalf of Temenos, surveyed 200 global banking executives to investigate the challenges retail banks face in the years to 2020 and how they are responding. Some key findings: The regulators will decide: Capital and compliance will shape incumbents and newcomers alike. Domestic regulators warn fintechs not to expect an easy ride. Into the unknown: American banks worry about regulation the most, despite a promised rollback. European policy direction is more certain, yet onerous. Geopolitics do not help. Resistance is futile: The EU’s Second Payment Services Directive and open architecture are the game changers. Banks may lose their customers’ loyalty, fintechs could hit compliance barriers. Both must collaborate to survive. Complacency is not a virtue: Fear of peer-to-peer lenders and robo-advice may have peaked. Non-banks could still steal deposit and lending business—and profit—unless banks improve the customer experience. No cash, no cheques: If they are smart, banks may still win the war to build truly universal digital networks.

A cor azul significa tranquilidade, serenidade e harmonia, mas também está associada à frieza, monotonia e depressão. Simboliza a água, o céu e o infinito. É a cor da realeza (sangue azul) e da aristocracia. É uma cor fria, considerada a mais fria entre os tons frios de azul, verde e violeta. Dentre os diferentes efeitos na saúde destaca-se a diminuição da circulação sanguínea, a redução da temperatura corporal e a baixa da pressão arterial. A cor azul é utilizada na decoração dos mais variados espaços. Um ambiente azul favorece o exercício intelectual e tranquiliza. É a cor ideal para ambientes formais, escritórios ou mesmo para o quarto de crianças ou adolescentes agitados, devido ao seu efeito calmante. O uso da cor azul em excesso pode trazer sonolência. Por isso, é aconselhável que seja combinada com outras cores para evitar a monotonia. A cor azul estimula a criatividade. É a cor preferida de grande parte do povo ocidental.

Você sabe o que é pooktre? Eu também não sabia o que era isso. Mas vamos lá, esclarecer o que é: Peter Cook e Becky Northey são os fundadores da arte denominada de Pooktre. Pooktre é o nome do processo que tem a capacidade de tornar a fantasia em realidade. O processo que eles “inventaram” é o de moldar a árvore durante a fase do seu crescimento. Aperfeiçoaram um método de moldagem gradual, que é a formação da árvore que cresce de acordo com um desenho ou um modelo pré determinado. Para eles isso foi um passatempo.....! Let me guess what you think. You think you are smart, you think you do a good job and you think you really love software development. You think you can program 24 hours a day if you are able to do so. You also think that software development is a profession and you are a member of such a huge great community. You feel proud of what you are belonging to. At this point I am sure that only a very few of you do your profession under the lights of ethics in software development. As in every professions, software development has a common set of ethical values, behaviors and rules. That might be the most forgotten and abandoned area in our profession and my main goal is to trespass it with this presentation. I presented the slides at Voxxed Days Istanbul 2015 Conference on 9th of May, 2015.
