Queen Elizabeth II and her
puppy love
Alice Crisante, Aurora Di Marco, Ludovica Germano, Elena Sun
Recently the reign of queen
Elizabeth II has ended, to
remember her we have chosen
one of her passions: dogs, horses
and other animals.
Elizabeth II received her first corgi,
Susan, as an 18th birthday present.
Fourteen generations of the Queen's
Corgis were bred from her.
"Susan went on with her on her
honeymoon," Gross said. "When she
and Philip rode in the carriage to the
train station to go up for their
honeymoon, the newspaper
reporters at the time said she stole
the show."
From the age of seven until the day
she died, the Queen had Corgis.
Michael Joseph Gross, a
contributing editor at Vanity Fair, is
writing a book about the Queen and
her Corgis.
The Queen also had an affinity for
horses, and she began riding as a child.
She attended many horse shows in her
lifetime.
Also, even well into her 90s, the Queen
still enjoyed going horseback riding.
She much preferred Windsor Castle, where she could ride her horses,
and she was frequently seen trotting through Windsor Great Park.
Castle staff would proudly tell visitors that she thought of Windsor as
“home” and London as “the office.”
The queen's dogs and ponies also
attended her funeral.
Corgis Muick and Sandy were brought
outside Windsor Castle ahead of the
coffin’s arrival on the Long Walk.
And just off the avenue, saddled but
riderless, her Fell pony Emma was also
waiting.
During her travels the queen
meets many animals, like:
Thanks for attention
