A CPU that processesone instruction per
second will have aclock speedof 1Hz(Hertz).
Based on this calculation,a 3.9GHz(Gigahertz)
CPU is able to process3.9billion (3,900,000,000)
instructions per second. All things being equal,
higher clock speeds=fasterCPU.

Dual Core
Dual core is the Generic name
given to processor that has two
cores on the same chip.
Core 2 Duo
Is the color of ebony and of outer
space. It has been the symbolic
color of elegance, solemnity and
authority.

Difference
Hyper-Threading is Intel's term for simultaneous multithreading. This is
a process where a CPU splits each of its physical cores into virtual
cores, which are known as threads.
Threadripping Technology is same as Hyperthreading technology.
Only for the marketing purpose Intel and AMD named it differently.

Hyperthreding and Threadripping
In computing, overclocking is the practice of increasing the clock
rate of a computer to exceed that certified by the manufacturer.
Commonly, operating voltage is also increased to maintain a
component's operational stability at accelerated speeds.

Intel market its processors in a series like i3,i5,i7,i9 and may be in
future we could i11. In a four-digit processor number, the first digit
typically represents the generation. For example, a processor with
the digits 9800 is a 9th gen processor, while one labeled 8800 is 8th
gen technology.

About Intel Processors
Why the name of Intel processors are given
like i3, i5, i7,i9 like odd and why not even, like
i2,i4,i6,i8 ?

If the i3 wasnamed i2, people would think it was
dual-core;samewith if the i5wasnamed the i4,
people would think it wasquad-core but its not like
this.

Like Intel's i3, i5, i7 series AMD also has its series, it
launches its processors in three categories:-
1. Athlon 2. Ryzen 3. Threadripper

About AMD Processors
1. Athlon is not a great series of AMD. Not
recommend in 2020.
2. Ryzen is the best series of AMD for budget users.
3.Threadripper series is best for someone who could
spend a lot. As this series is very powerfull but costs
a lot.

When it comes to CPU, there are only two main
players in the market:Intel and AMD.
You may have seen reports saying that Intel is better,
and on the next day, another report sayingAMD is
better.So we will compare them.

Intel vs AMD
If youhavenoticed, Intel’s speedalways seems to be higher
than AMD. Becareful, this does not imply that the Intel CPU
is better.
Thehigher clocker speedsimply meansthat there are more
work cycles per second, not the amount of work doneper
second.Intel CPU has the tendency to divide its task into
many small partsfor easyprocessing.On the contrast,AMD
has lesser work cycle,but it processes moredata percycle.

Socket Type:
AMD and Intel CPU don’t have the same pin
configuration. AMD chip has 938 pins and uses the
AM3 socket. Intel chip (newer generation) has 1366
pins and uses the LGA1366 socket on the
motherboard. Thus, when choosing the CPU, it is
important to bear in mind the socket type used by
your motherboard.

Price to Performance:
AMD’s processors provide much better price to
performance ratio then Intel. In some cases AMD
processors are cheaper than Intel ones and provide a
very good performance than Intel one’s.

Summary:
Intel and AMD ,engineers in both the companies are working
hard to develop the processors. So, it is not right to disparage
any of them. All the factors are in favor of AMD but there is
one thing where Intel holds an edge and that is Software
Optimization.

  • 9. Hyper-Threading is Intel's term for simultaneous multithreading. This is a process where a CPU splits each of its physical cores into virtual cores, which are known as threads.   • 18. If youhavenoticed, Intel’s speedalways seems to be higher than AMD. Becareful, this does not imply that the Intel CPU is better. Thehigher clocker speedsimply meansthat there are more work cycles per second, not the amount of work doneper second.Intel CPU has the tendency to divide its task into many small partsfor easyprocessing.On the contrast,AMD has lesser work cycle,but it processes moredata percycle. 18 Core Frequency:
  • 19. 19 Socket Type: AMD and Intel CPU don’t have the same pin configuration. AMD chip has 938 pins and uses the AM3 socket. Intel chip (newer generation) has 1366 pins and uses the LGA1366 socket on the motherboard. Thus, when choosing the CPU, it is important to bear in mind the socket type used by your motherboard.
  • 20. 20 Price to Performance: AMD’s processors provide much better price to performance ratio then Intel. In some cases AMD processors are cheaper than Intel ones and provide a very good performance than Intel one’s.
  • 21. 21 Summary: Intel and AMD ,engineers in both the companies are working hard to develop the processors. So, it is not right to disparage any of them. All the factors are in favor of AMD but there is one thing where Intel holds an edge and that is Software Optimization.
