  9. 9. Influence/Inspiration MartinScorsese • Martin Scorsese who is well known from his cult classics such as taxi driver, the wolf of WallStreet, shutter island, Goodfellas and raging bull. He has been making movies since 1963 and is a long-time writer and director. He has branched out into multiple different styles of movies such as dark comedy, dramas, crime fiction, thrillers, psychological, horror and mystery. He is also known to use freeze framing and slow-motion in a lot of his movies as it allows him to focus on facial expressions and body language in a much rawer and more emotional way. • He was also raised in little Italy which gave him lots of ideas and helped him write some of his movies, he earned a B.S. degree in film communications in 1964, followed by an M.A. in the same field in 1966 at New York University's School of Film. During this time, he made numerous prize-winning short films including The Big Shave (1967), and directed his first feature film, Who's That Knocking At My Door (1967). • I feel like the slow motion and freeze framing is an effective way to really convey raw emotion and has helped give me ideas to try and fit it within my film in part which require specific emotions or scenes that don’t carry any specific emotion but still make the viewer feel something.
  10. 10. Influence/inspiration MaryHarron • Mary Harron is the least known on this list as a director but has had one of the most influential movies of current times being "American psycho" which she is mostly known for along with "I shot Andy Warhol" she co-wrote American psycho and The Notorious Bettie Page with Guinevere Turner which she denies this title though. She tends to focus on drama, horror, thriller titles. • From her I'm mostly going to be focusing on her work on American psycho and the more mysterious aspects of that film with Patrick Bateman not knowing if h really murdered all those people along with the audience or if he really did and everyone in the company is covering for him, so they don’t get a bad rep. So, the mystery behind if it's really him committing the murders or not is what I intend on focusing on due to those aspects of keeping the audience guessing and how you can make a character convincing to the audience

  13. 13. StrengthsandLimitations • Strengths • Very strong and solid ideas for what I want to create from genre, style, how its shot, people I want in it, locations, wardrobe etc. • I have lots of experience in acting as I did drama as a kid along with my friend who will also be acting in it with me • Have lots of experience filming along with the person who will be filming, making it look good and know what looks good is a benefit we both have making filming smoother and easier to carry out. • My locations I have in mind aren't far from each other making it easy for everyone to travel and get there. • I've studied and watched analysis videos on the movies I've used as inspiration, so I have a good idea of what I want It to look like, what message I want to show and how to make the audience feel. • Limitations • It'll be my first time making a short film or anything with actual story including writing a script. • Might have t buy my own equipment to get the quality I want specifically mics as I don’t want a whole movie to be ruined by that as have strong beliefs that itll be good to watch but I am sceptical about the audio front of things.
